  1. Yet another media hit piece claiming to know what Trump is thinking and planning - lapped up by the Trump hating lappies - as always. Meanwhile, if Trump is successful in getting the peace deal in Gaza implemented, then he could well get a nomination. Likewise, if he can get a deal done bringing peace to Ukraine he could get another one. However, he is very unlikely to win as most of the Nobel judges are Euro Lefties who give Peace Prizes to people like Obama for being popular and black, but who actually did nothing to bring about peace (in fact quite the opposite).
  2. They said the same thing when Industrialisation started and they were wrong then. Yes many jobs will be taken over by AI - especially technical roles like Doctors and Lawyers. But there will always be supervisor and complementary roles, and new roles will be created. There are many things in life that are non-computational and algorithms will not be able to do them. Things that heavily require empathy and ethics and creativity and complex problem-solving skills will not be able to be completed well by any AI. However, in the far distant future it could well happen that humans and AI get 'integrated' together and that would certainly leave out many roles in life for 'pure' humans. Not gonna impact any of us - that is for sure.
  3. That is changing as the actual impacts of the left wing policies have started to show. The Immigration and Violence and National Security issues are in particular causing European to reject left wing stupidity. The next step is that they then look at the reasons why all left wing Government massively increase the numbers of Immigrants (legal and illegal) from 3rd world countries. The rejection is amplified when the People realise that all the troubles are a result of policies designed to increase the numbers of people who will vote left wing (99% of illegals and about 70-80% of legals from the 3rd world vote left wing).
  4. The logic that states you must agree to do with your kids what I/we do with our kids is untenable and draconian. If you want to get your kids vaccinated that is on you - but you should not be able to force others to do the same. Likewise, the State must never be allowed to force the People to take any form of medical treatment/s - again. That decision must always remain with the Parents and their Doctors - not some effin unaccountable and unelected non-medical practitioner bureaucrat (like Fauci).
  5. Please stop arguing - we are all learning and passing on our opinions and advice. Take it or leave it. Microsoft backtracks, makes Windows 10 ESU program free in the EEA | Windows Central Major backtrack as Microsoft makes Windows 10 extended security updates FREE for an extra year — but only in certain markets Published September 25, 2025 In a major move, Microsoft is making access to Windows 10's extended support updates free for regions in the European Economic Area. No cloud backup required.
  6. Stop being so argumentative - take a pill and chill mate. In my experience with IT&T anything like this is best dealt with slowly - things happen and things go wrong - let it 'settle'. But up to you. My laptop is 'not compatible' - the latest update is 22H2. Upgrading to Win11 requires a 'workaround' on my PC and not worth doing given Win11 has no real advantage and ESU is free (for a while).
  7. Lets not argue BUT - Microsoft announced that ESU was free for Home users in EU on 27th September - less than 2 weeks ago. But as the guy in that video posted 2 days ago stated, he just found out it is also now free in US and worldwide - not sure when MSoft caved in. But yes - I was answering several replies at once and got some 'crossed wires'. All good now - ESU for Win10 is free for at least 12 months - IMO that will be extended to 2028 (same timeframe as the agreed Windows Defender support for Win10).
  8. Unfortunately, there could be rebel Hamas 'soldiers' who will not want the deal to go ahead, and they could well send a few rockets Israel's way. Unlike the IDF that has centralised command and control and who does what the Israel Government tells them, the Hamas 'soldiers' are splinter groups and they operate with a lot of independence. Lets hope they dont scuttle the deal.
  9. I hope Hamas sticks to the deal and does not double-cross everyone. If they do, then Israel will plough forward with full force and will not stop the War until all Hamas are destroyed - Gaza will be completely destroyed. IMO if they do restart the War - USA, Egypt, Turkey and many others will not stand in Israel's way. I hope Hamas understands that reality - if they renege, they will be killing many thousands of the Gaza people - and the World will finally understand that they are lying insane murdering terrorists.
  10. Me too - not worth the risk. My recommendation is to use a microsoft email address (not your main one and if you have only one get another 1-2) and sign up for ESU. Let let it do its thing and let the PC run for a day or so, and then logout and use the PC as a local user going forward. That is what I will be doing when I return from this trip.
  11. Yes it has changed. You have to sign in to sign up for ESU - but after that you can sign out and use the PC as a local user with no login required.
  12. I think the PC will be too slow - it might work but not work well - and then rolling back could be an issue. I have waiting for months to see what happens about Win10 and ESUs - and now what I hoped for has happened (ESUs free). I am sticking to Win10 for next year and will wait to see what happens. I think that most people will not buy a new/er PC just to get Win11 - I have not heard of any feature that is worth buying a new PC for and Win10 works great. I think in one year there will still be millions of home users still using Win10. MSoft released and then canned Win7 after almost 12 years - and now they want to do the same with Win10 in about 10 years. But this time around, unlike before for Win7 to Win10, most people still using Win10 have to buy a new/er PC to install Win11. Plus the move from Win7 to Win10 was a significant improvement - that aint the same for Win10 to Win11. I think this is going to drag on for years - and given MSoft has guaranteed security updates for Microsoft Defender on old Win10 machines to 2028 - I think then will be the nexus point.
  13. Thanks mate. Brilliant video - I recommend everyone watch this. I could not have said it better and I agree with everything he says. Plus he claimed the Windows Security software will be updated my MSoft to 2028 and I have checked that to be correct - that problem is now solved. I was not reluctant to upgrade to Win11 - my laptop is not compatible. I know it would probably be accepted and install - but if it does not work well, then trying to roll back to Win10 will be 'problematic'. My issue was being forced to either pay for ESU or to have to sign-in to MSoft in order to use the laptop if I wanted ESU free. But there has been developments I was not aware of - ESU is now free. I know MSoft very well - the company - and they are trying to lock everyone into their 'environment' through mandated sign-in and automatic syncing using OneDrive. MSoft and Greeks (Troy) are the same - you can never trust anything they give away - there is always a catch.
  14. Well done mate. We are 10+ years and counting - best decision ever made.
  15. Tesla is the only EV to get IMO. Many reasons not to buy Chinese brands - including design, build and longevity - Tesla will be here in 5-10 years. But IMO the best 'green' option right now is not an EV - it is a Hybrid from Toyota or Honda. Toyota have been selling the Prius since late 1990s - same for Honda with the Insight - they know how to do it right and cost effectively.
  16. I assume you are talking about you and riding a bike? Good idea to get familiar with the bike's feel and balance etc - before venturing on the roads. Good idea to use a big carpark - when confident progress to multi-story carparks going up and down and around - then go in and around a few local villages.
  17. All good - Win11 is free so up to you. Not sure it is more efficient - but time will tell. My PC is not compatible - so I will stay Win10 now updates are free.
  18. Dear me. Non compatible obviously means non compatible to get Window 11. They were not providing ESU for free before - that has recently changed. Do as you wish.
  19. Thailand could become bigger and better than Singapore if they follow the lead of Lee Kuan Yew. Attack and remove corruption - restructure and replace the judicial system and bureaucracy - replace non-Royal defamation laws with truth of the claim being a defence - remove monopolies and oligopolies - but leave the Royals Laws alone (only reduce sentences). Singapore was just as corrupt and incompetent and ignorant as Thailand before Lee Kuan Yew took power and changed things - removing corruption was his main focus. Is Anutin the man for the job? Who knows.
  20. Thanks - that would work too. But see my latest post above - seems MSoft has relented to the pressure and is giving ESU free for non-compatible PCs.
  21. Check this out - seems MSoft are offering free ESU - at least for one year. It seems it is automatic for those PCs not compatible with Win11 - but this bloke has found a work around that seems to work. We are travelling at the moment - I will give this a try on the broadband network when we get home. Point to note - the OS must be up to date before enrolling in the ESU. Probably a good idea to back it up too - just in case.
  22. You asked "I don't understand why the need for all the drama and speculation" I stated that because it means I know what I am talking about (mostly) with regards to IT&T issues. MSoft are not doing this for 'real' reasons like security. I worked for several Global IT&T companies - not FOR MSoft but often WITH MSoft on corporate deals. Sales and Management. I have an update - found something on Youtube. Seems MSoft has been forced to provide ESU for free in Europe so they are doing the same worldwide - at least for one year anyway. My hopes have been realised I guess. See my next post.
  23. Good points - IMO the time is right next year for another company to step up with a new OS for computers, that meets the needs of home users and is easy to install. How MSoft want it, is that the computer is bought by the person, but the use of it is controlled by MSoft - for their own benefit. Hopefully the result of the court case will force MSoft to offer the basic home version of their OS with ongoing support and with no mandate to 'join' the MSoft 'environment'.
