Yes the activists have pushed Govts into doing what they want and the idiots in Govt have done that without realising the details. A mate of mione has a Tesla - it is the only electric car I would ever buy. But the advice of Elon about what the Govts should do about the quality and stabndards of EV vehicles was ignored - they and the activists see him as the bogeyman. Dont give out your credit or debit card information over the phone. Period. If the company does not use a secure online payment service - then dont use them. Likewise, if online and their 'payment system' is you providing your card details to them online and they will process the payment later, then walk away. Any company that will not pay the small fees needed to use a secure and safe online payment system provider like Paypal, is not worth doing business with. As to getting back the deposit - I think you are in trouble as the transaction was not fraud. Maybe try Consumer Affairs.

The world is moving towards the 'right'. People more and more do not accept the BS of inclusiveness, diversity and social justice causes - they want law and order, national intergrity including strong borders, and conservative social values restored. For over 3 decades the 'progressives' have been winning more than the conservatives, but as seen in the last few years with Argentina, Sweden, Finland, Greece, etc etc - the conservatives are winning more often than not. Biden will be one of the last major progressive leaders of the world. When Trudea and Macron are voted out, then we will know the transition has been completed. Yes the porgressives will win elections here and there, but there will be a balance restored between the two main political views in society - it was a huge mistake to allow the progressives to gain so much power and control for such a long period of time. The Biden State Dept has said many negative things about Orban (Hungary PM) - things that should not be said by an organisations that is supposed to be apolitical and that respects the voting decisions of other countries. The recent isnults are on the record - but I have edited their latest. The Biden State Department has accused Orban of - "rolling back the very damaging and poloraising minority rights that disadvantaged the majority; controlling the progressive activist judiciary that makes decisions based on politics; has curtailed the progressive biased media from publishing false media stories and allegations; and has ensured the integrity of the country's election system". That sounds exactly what Trump and the GOP are going to do when they are elected in 2024. Nothing Biden can say in his address will change the fact that the progressive levers of control and influence over the majority of the people for the benefit of the minorities that vote progressive will be destroyed.

Instead of telling them what Thailand/TAT is doing, maybe he (and TAT) should be asking them - what do they want, what they dont like, and how can he/TAT improve Thailand as a holiday and business destination.

My point/s being that the relaxation of the Visa rules (easier, free, longer) has had a huge impact on the numbers. It flows in exactly the same direction - you missed it again. Yes there are many reasons why illegal employment has increased in Thailand and the ones you liosted are definitely a factor. But as I said, the relaxation of Visa rules has been the main contribution to the increase in their numbers - over and above the 'normal' numbers that have occurred in Thailand. Another one is that tourism has increased in Thailand and there are more jobs than this time last year. And many more. But the Visa relaxation has caused a lot of problems. I know a guy that lives in Phuket (Rawai) - he has nothing but bad news about all the illegals working there - mainly Russians/Ukrainians). It is the same everywhere - not Russians/Ukrainians - they seem to be Phuket and Hua Hin mainly, but there are many others and the other tyoruist locations. Out on the farms in Isaan they are not even seen.

People are realising that they are very much supporters of the Democrats and that they are biased - more and more people are turning away from the media. They see what happened to Trump, and when they compare that to what happens to Biden, with all the free passes and platitudes, they start to understand. Just look at all the media hype about Trump being incompetent and unfit to be POTUS - and yet Biden is clearly showing mental incapacities and physical problems - not mentioned in media much at all. Just to give you some wiggle room - one reason the media is not attacking Biden relentlessly like they did Trump, is because they have polarised themselves so much that their viewers only want to see positive things about Biden and negative about Trump. The vast majority of their viewers are left wing Democrat voters so they are focussed on doign what they want. It was a miostake for them to take this approach, because they have lost at least half of their potential viewers. The reason 'go woke go broke' is real as Bud Light and all the others are finding out, is that being obnoxious to one side of the political divide is bad business - that plus it is the right conservative side that spends more of their money on 'capitalistic' things. Sheer idiocy to align oneself as a business with that part of the political divide that hates capitalism and abhors product consumption as a means of wealth generation.

Good points - no way I can disgaree with any of that. Indeed Thaksin may want Yingluck to return both to do as you say, and to guide/mentor his daughter to be come PM. I guess we will soon find out - I am very sure she will be back here this year.
