  1. In any case, if Trump has scared off new illegal migration, I'm fine with that. but as said he's been a nothingburger on deportation numbers. The vast majority of Americans do want undocumented serious criminals deported. Get on with it but go lighter on people who are contributing. Many of those will also be deported but no rational reason to go overboard.
  2. I have heard both Sachs and Mearsheimer many many times. Heard and rejected their narratives.
  3. Kick too many out and housing costs will go even higher. Who do you think does most of the building trade jobs!?!
  4. That's true. Trump has been incompetent on that. Nothing to do with the stupid massively more expensive military plan option.
  5. Seems doubtful. Doge does nothing to stop Musk's business corruption or stunts like Trump driving around the Daytona track wasting millions of dollars on nothing. I'm actually surprised that they're stopping the massively overpriced military plane fascism theater. It's not about stopping deportations. It's only about stopping that stupid transport method.
  6. Decent Americans want comprehensive immigration reform where productive undocumented migrants have a path towards being legal, etc. Republicans only want an endless political issue to run on.
  7. He behaves exactly as an actual Kremlin asset would behave. Americans -- we're f-ed!
  8. That military fascism theater was just that. It was much more expensive than the classic methods. No decent American is against deporting dangerous criminal undocumented migrants.
  9. Sachs is just wrong. From economist to Kremlin mouthpiece: The troubling transformation of Jeffrey Sachs www.thehill.com/opinion/international/4727046-from-economist-to-kremlin-mouthpiece-the-troubling-transformation-of-jeffrey-sachs/ Three weeks ago, Tucker Carlson invited economist Jeffrey Sachs for an interview, that could claim second prize in the category of “Whitewashing Russian President Vladimir Putin for Republican audiences.” First prize, of course, still belongs to Carlson himself for giving Russian dictator a two-hour interview, in which Putin embarrassed Carlson by offering events from 1,000 years ago as justification for Russia’s invasion in 2022. Carlson’s interview with Putin was widely quoted but also widely fact-checked. So, I would like to fact-check the Sachs interview as well. Sachs is well-known in the field of economics, considered one of the authors of the so-called “shock therapy” used on the economies of post-communist Poland and Russia. It is a shame to see this once-respected Columbia University professor stoop to the level of freelance Kremlin propagandist, promoting multiple pieces of Russian disinformation. Sachs’ propaganda speech justifying Russia’s aggression in Ukraine is disguised among supposed “historical facts,” many of which don’t hold up under scrutiny.
  10. I have. He's full of Kremlin caca. He's a case of not a useful idiot for Putin, but a useful intellectual for Putin.
  11. With maga, cruelty is the point. At this point, I think the majority of Americans don't recognize our own country anymore. Trying to annex Canada. Being recognized by the Kremlin as being in complete synch with their agenda. Yes I'm saying that a large portion of the Trump voters (I call them the egg prices brigade) had no idea what they were voting for now that see what the Musk - Trump 2.0 regime is actually getting them.
  12. I didn't say that. Maybe read the item before hurling stupid flames.
  13. Zero chance of that. They aren't even trying to reduce the deficit. It's all about more tax cuts for billionaires.
  14. Uh oh. Social Security Payments Could Be Interrupted For First Time In 80 Years Social Security, the bedrock of safety net payments to 61 million Americans, could be interrupted by personnel cuts made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It could create an economic catastrophe, at least for those who rely heavily on the funds. The 61 million people who receive Social Security payments include retirees, people with disabilities, and their dependents and survivors. Last year, total annual costs were $1.6 trillion, making it the largest expense of the federal government. The average payment to retirees, 52 million recipients, is just short of $2,000 a month. These payments make up about a third of the incomes of Americans who are over 65. The number is much higher for some. According to the Social Security Administration, “Among Social Security beneficiaries age 65 and older, 12% of men and 15% of women rely on Social Security for 90% or more of their income.”
  15. In any case, he's a traitor. How a traitor became the U.S. president TWO TIMES does reflect badly on the entire country.
  16. He's not only clearly the worst president in American history but one the worst human being of any kind to ever exist.
  17. One thing that can be said with certainty, for Americans with business to do with SS, including missing payments, and suspension of benefits, it's going to go from very bad to unspeakably bad as far as access to a human being to get service.
  18. Trump is not just another politician. He's destroying the American brand permanently and transforming a very long standing constitutional democratic republic into a lawless fascist dictatorship. He's also senile, clearly insane, and considers himself the God King of America. Quite impossible to ignore that.
  19. Not recently. But he is KGB - FSB for life. That's like the mafia. You don't resign.
  20. Of course it's not Russia hating. It is hating what the regime there has done and that does extend to the segment of the population there that opening supports that. I deeply hate that the fascists are taking over the USA, but will also love the USA. They are different things.
