Keeping on the theme of WARNING expats that changes might be happening, this video suggests that MASSIVE changes might happen related to radical dollar weakening, that if they did, would blow a significant number of dollar based expats out of the water. Remember, Trump as he has already proven on many fronts, is very much into blowing things up in a big way. I know this video might sounds sensational and I will be accused of fear mongering, but personally I trust the source for stock market advice. I followed his specific advice before to my benefit. I'm not saying and he's not saying either that this massive blow up WILL happen. But it would be silly to be sure that it won't happen.

Again, he lied purely to advance his vile demonization of trans people for political gain. The claim that the Biden administration spent $8 million on "making mice transgender" is misleading. The funding was for scientific research involving hormone therapy in mice to study its effects on various health issues, not for altering the mice's gender identity.

I'll start this out with this link, but I have recently seen the same news in multiple credible sources so I believe it. Obviously this could have a major negative impact on dollar based expats as well as many businesses globally (where the impacts might be good or bad depending). It seems the only question is whether Trump succeeds in his dollar weakening goal and by how much. Please feel welcome to post additional news stories related to this topic and of course to discuss it. The intent here really isn't whether a weaker dollar is good or bad for the U.S. economy or eveb if Trump is right or wrong in wanting it. That's academic. This is an expat forum so the main focus should be impact on expats. There were hormones involved in the studies but the studies were about diseases not about gender transitioning.

The article above is wrong. What Trump said actually WAS a lie. Which should surprise noboby as he lies constantly even after being corrected. That's his thing. He said the money was spent for the purpose of making mice transgender. That is not true. Any Jewish people in Thailand noticing local hostilities?
Jingthing replied to wasabi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Well Thailand isn't nearly as antisemitic as Malaysia, but maybe it's your calling to fan the flames? A Close Encounter With Asia's Anti-Semitic Capital – The Forward www.forward.com/culture/327354/a-close-encounter-with-asias-anti-semitic-capital/ On a recent stopover in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a cemented-over pile of ugly skyscrapers and canyons strewn with street beggars, I strolled through the garish Twin Towers Shopping Mall. In an underground supermarket, I passed an employee at the fish counter — a short, squat young man who stared at me with violent hatred. I looked around to see if there was anyone else he might be angry with, but no, he was focused on me with protuberant eyes and a grimace like an ungifted drama student who had been asked to project murderous rage. While there was something cinematic and false in this excessive emotion, I was glad he had no knives on hand, since I was in Malaysia, the most anti-Semitic country in Asia. Last year the Anti-Defamation League published the results of a survey indicating that 61% of Malaysians express anti-Semitic views, compared with 22% of the rest of Asia. -
Elon Musk - time to return to your Office at Tesla
Jingthing replied to TorquayFan's topic in Political Soapbox
Why not? He bought the presidency so he's a good track record buying stuff. -
Officially they say expect a wait of 6 to 8 weeks but reports generally say it's more like a month. HOWEVER, nobody knows yet who's still working at the passport office after the Musk-Doge effect. ALSO, the government may be shutting down soon. So there are some Twitter "X" factors in play that haven't been before the election.

I think the passport card is mostly for people crossing the Mexico and Canada borders frequently.

Ukraine’s Fate Was Sealed Long Before Aid Was Cut
Jingthing replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You don't mean peace. You mean Ukraine should surrender. Why doesn't Russia just leave then instead? -
I'm for Ukraine/Zelinsky over Putin/Trump every day of the week, but this isn't a matter for the supreme court. It does highlight why Ukraine needs REAL security guarantees this time if there is going to be any real "peace" agreement with genocidal Putin (as opposed to the surrender traitor Trump is pushing). Putin if he does pause will only pause to regroup for later assaults. He's on record for intending to erase Ukraine, and much more.

Steal your ID. Post something tempting for sale. Find victims. Play a refund gambit scam to control victim's bank accounts to drain them. If you don't know what that is, youtube is your friend. Scamming is a huge industry. If crimes are done using your ID, you might have some splaining to do.
-
You don't know how scammers work these days? There is no money on the public forum but there is money if people are contacted by PM and play a confidence game.
-
At the very least if you have a weak pwd you should change to a strong one.
-
Yeah but they might use your aseannow ID to drain someone else's life savings via a confidence scam. People might see your ID and think you're trustworthy when they actually might be dealing with a professional scamming operation.
