It may sound harsh but I'm hoping it becomes Vatican policy to never allow Vance anywhere near any living Pope. It just wouldn't be prudent "at this time" or EVER!

Not to mention the sports trophy he broke.

Not sure that you're saying anything different than what I said. -
Thanks. It's a current favorite of mine but there is something funny about it. That's because some dishes are really quite good and others are really quite not good. There doesn't seem to be an in between. So with a menu like that a person could try it one time and order "wrong" and conclude it's not good period. So I'll update a few things. The dish described as Sechuan braised fish is not that but actual a below average hot pot soup type of thing with a small portion of not great fish. When done well, that's one of my favorite dishes but not their version. On the other hand the fried salt and pepper squid dish was stellar bur as you might expect did not travel well because it's fried. So get that on site or only if you're close for delivery. I'm a big fan of their hot and sour soup WITH the optional noodles. But if I get that and also a main dish with rice and Taiwanese side dishes it could be too much food and also the side dishes are often soupy so you don't need so much soupy stuff How to cope? Well for delivery if you're getting the hot and sour with noodles order the main dish WITHOUT rice/side dishes and provide your own rice at home. Again on the main dishes there are two price points. The lower price is JUST the dish. No rice. The higher price is the dish, rice, and side dishes.

The point is by having such an international type American that spent so much of his career in Peru, it softened the idea of the first American pope which is an idea with a lot of traditional opposition. I'm sure most assumed there would be a first Asian and first African pope before the first American. But with this particular American you get North and South. Also of course he speaks Latin, Spanish, and Italian as well as English. -

American and Peruvian. That definitely helped his case. There is a sort of warm and fuzzy continuation from Francis with him. Not exactly the same of course but a lot of people thought there might be a reaction towards a more right wingy type. -

Some thoughts. The Catholic church can do what it wants. If you're not Catholic why would you even care much either way? He is not woke Pope. He is more conservative than Francis on social issues such as LGBT, women in the priesthood etc. He is similar to Francis on relating to the poorest and the suffering, the human dignity of migrants and compassion. That fits with the religion. Maga fascists hate that. They're all about cruelty and intolerance. In my view Trump made Pope Leo IV possible. That's because Trump has stepped back from American global leadership to become just another country operating only on self interest. An American Pope wasn't possible politicaly before. He seems overall a decent guy within the context of Catholic dogma. -
