  1. It isn't at the point where Canada will grant asylum to Americans except in very extraordinary specific cases. Canada's normal non refugee immigration system is merit based fairly similar to Australia.
  2. Suggest watching the Inside Russia youtube channel. There exiled Russian Konstantin (expert in economics and energy industry) has been predicting Russia's economic melt down for years now.
  3. OK, I get it. This sounds sensationalist and it's obviously not something that if it ever happens will happen soon. HOWEVER -- The fact that this is even being talked about is another sign of the seriousness of the situation of autocrat Trump coming back to power. Why? Well, normal decent American presidents try to be presidents of ALL the states. Not just states where they have a lot of support. Trump has already shown a pattern of wanting to PUNISH states (and cities) with leadership and voters who oppose his extremist maga autocrat agenda. I'm not saying this will really happen. Nobody can predict the future that way. But such split up of countries is actually not rare in world history, ancient and more recent. As long as we're talking about the U.S. splitting up, personally I wouldn't want to join Canada even if Canada wanted to acquire U.S. states. I think new INDEPENDENT countries would be much better. The Northeast for sure but also the Pacific Coast States. Four States Could Secede From US and Join Canada to Avoid Trump—Democrat - Newsweek
  4. Uh oh. Trump's plan. Others might disagree but I'm reading this as throwing Ukraine under the bus. Which I expected but this seems to confirm. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/29/europe/trump-new-ukraine-envoy-analysis-intl/index.html
  5. Correction. Facts don't matter to HIM. Or his cult. The grifter grifts on ...
  6. Trump's insistence that ALL of the candidates for senate leader must pledge to allow recess appointments (giving up the senate's power of ADVISE and CONSENT) was yet another dark sign that Trump intends to rule as an autocratic DICTATOR, as much as is possible, and a lot will be possible. As far as silly people saying the maga autocrats can't just change the constitution on the fly so not to worry. You don't need to change the constitution. You can just ignore it knowing there won't be any consequences as per the almost total power given the presidency recently by the maga controlled Supreme Court.
  7. Garbage! I have never voiced support for open borders Also, border and migrantion policy are separate from global conflict policy. Possibly good news. Jake Broe reports there now four republican Senators who will block Gabbard.
  8. Vladmir thanks you.
  9. The world's greatest con man grifter strikes again.
  10. She'll probably withdrawal before the hearing as is usually done when they know they don't have the votes.
  11. Fine. Revoke her clearances. Regardless she is completely UNQUALIFIED for.that cabinet post.
  12. Big difference with being the head of intelligence. It's a fact that she has voiced false Russian propaganda points. There should be zero doubt with a person in such.a position.
  13. Here's some good news. Gabbard who I rate as the worse of the remaining picks rated most likely to not make it.
  14. The ghost of Walter Mondale thanks you.
  15. Mexicans can be proud of their president.
  16. I remember long ago when republicans cared a lot about national security. Many still do. We'll need to count on them to stop Gabbard.
  17. First I heard that Biden has that power over cabinet picks for a president elect. Can you please post a link to confirm? I do agree if really does have that power, he should use it. Of course that doesn't mean autocrat Trump would care. Remember he wants recess appointments to avoid the advise and consent function of the senate entirely.
  18. I very seriously doubt that. Also consider Musk's "agency" is really a real thing that has power to chop anything. It's just an advisory mechanism.
  19. Bizarre post. The topic is about Trump's cabinet picks which he has because he won. Do you think political debate is supposed to go away (for any side) the moment elections are over?!?
  20. Funny comment. Protecting U.S. national security should be a completely bipartisan concern. It's not only "lefties" who have deep concerns about Gabbard as head of intelligence. I guess if there was a department of Crystals she might be a good fit.
