  1. Thailand (or Cambodia, Philippines, Mexico, or Panama ...) OR BUST!
  2. This is news to you?
  3. The way to solve the homelessness crisis is housing people. There isn't the political will to actually do that.
  4. It's that trademark square face, I tell ya. Can't live with it, can't live without it.
  5. Let's Wok American Chinese food Soi Lengkee American style Chinese food is not my favorite as I much prefer "authentic" regional Chinese food from Chinese regions. However, tasty food is tasty food. So on that note, I have had a better than expected experiences at Let's Wok on Soi Lengkee located in the American Bar and Grill restaurant. They have a buffet on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 3 pm for 350 baht. I've tried it twice already and it was a few notches better than it had to be to be acceptable. I guess the dishes and style of their American Chinese food are on the more retro side. You can be sure to find the familiar General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, and their most popular buffet dish the honey ribs. They do vary the buffet menu somewhat so you aren't likely to see the exact same offerings on repeat visits. They're very good about keeping all the dishes replenished. There isn't a lot of food in the trays which is good because less chance that it sits too long. Most buffets aren't as efficient. Nothing to write home to Poughkeepsie about but there it is. They also of course have their regular menu daily and the prices aren't bad. I suppose the quality level is more or less similar to Pimmy delivery only western Chinese food. Pimmy's is British Chinese though. Let's Wok says they're American Chinese and for the most part they are but they don't have egg foo young and their curry dishes taste British Chinese, not American Chinese though.
  6. Israel is seen as a very advanced modern nation with some of the best educated people and most sophisticated technology including medical and military in the world. If genocide of Palestinian Arabs is the policy of the Israeli government then wowza they sure are crap at it!
  7. The actual topic is very different.. See the OP. .... German and Israeli officials have condemned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for comments he made about Jews and the Nazi Holocaust in a speech.
  8. Yes it's an odd case study in something but I don't think there is an English word for it. Perhaps there is in Brazilian Portuguese.
  9. A debating maven you're not. You still haven't answered if Brazil's decimation of the rain forest is Nazi.
  10. Hmm. Well I deposited a US rona stim check at Bangkok Bank and it took several weeks to show up in my account.
  11. You're completely off base. To add Israel was founded as the one nation state homeland of the Jewish PEOPLE!
  12. I call BS. My reply had nothing to do with antisemitism.
  13. It's no coincidence in the slightest. That was the point of founding Israel in the first place!
  14. WW2 took several years. The Russian fascists though they could win in a day. If it takes years it takes years for Ukraine to prevail and prevail they must. Putins main last hope is to wait to see if fascist isolationist Trump returns to power.
  15. Interesting you mention that. https://m.jpost.com/jerusalem-report/exploring-the-connections-between-jews-and-native-americans-672667 There is much sentiment behind the affinity of Jews and Jewish history with that of American Indian tribes. The atrocities inflicted upon their people were a key factor that resulted in diminishing their population by 90% – from a high of about 10 million in 1492 to a low of 250,000 at the beginning of the 20th century. Their numbers are slowly recovering. Common roots According to a Ynet report, a population of Native American Indians from the US state of Colorado has been found to have a genetic mutation typical of Ashkenazi Jews. The finding suggests the presence of common roots that date back to the days of Christopher Columbus.
  16. I agree. Obama made that mistake. Give the Russkies an arm, they'll take it all. That said it would have been massively harder back then to get western allies on-board as they are now. But Obama didn't even try except to do slap on them wrist stuff. From the US POv this shouldn't be partisan.
  17. Vile flame troll bait ignored.
  18. It's not semantics. It's reality. Palestinian Arabs living in Gaza and the west bank are not Israeli citizens so obviously at this point voting in Israeli elections is out of the question.
  19. You are correct that Arab Israeli citizens have equal voting power. But Israelis as a whole (mostly Jews) are never going to freely vote to include Arabs in the west bank and Gaza in Israeli elections because that would be national suicide. Israelis should never be expected to commit national suicide. No country should be expected to commit national suicide. So any kind of one state solution will need to be with a system where Israel retains it's majority Jewish character in significant ways (as such a one state would put them in the minority). Israel was founded under political Zionist inspiration to be the only one state in the world with a Jewish majority. The Israeli right of return of Jews is linked to that. That principle won't be voluntary abandoned by Israelis.
  20. In your opinion. As I said I don't have the answer. But if you accept as I do two state and one state equal voting is off the table, there aren't many options left at all, except the status quo and obviously the status quo is really bad. A strong majority of Israelis are fine with the status quo going on indefinitely. That's the most likely outcome for the forseeable future.
  21. I wasn't suggesting an equivalence. It was a rough example of what might potentially be possible. Of course things ended tragically for Hong Kong.
  22. Now you're really full of it if you're suggesting there isn't anti Jewish racism in Gaza and the west bank. Total B.S.!
  23. They wouldn't think it's acceptable. I'm not saying that will happen but I do think two states, and one state with an Arab majority vote are off the table. I haven't pretended to be able to solve this conflict.
