  1. Yes I think. I agree it's a great app though. https://www.reuters.com/technology/telegram-surpasses-whatsapp-become-russias-top-messenger-megafon-2022-03-21/ https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2023/06/telegram-app-encrypted-messaging-russia/674558/ The World’s Most Important App (For Now) Telegram played a central role in Yevgeny Prigozhin’s revolt—and in so many other chaotic events that have defined recent history.
  2. Well my grandparents had it but they were more motivated by avoiding getting murdered than what it would be like in the new world. Turned out for them it was not so great for first generation but got better. One side first generation was a total disaster actually (couldn't even feed their children). A repeated theme. The poor great unwashed risking their lives to cross the Darien gap are much more motivated by how bad their lives are where they come from than what it might be like where they're going. They basically know the wages are much higher but do they really get the expenses are ruinously much higher as well? I see hopeful immigrants to the U.S. like "Sanctioned Ivan" (youtuber in Thailand -- escapee from Putin's Russia) have idealistic and unrealistic impressions that are clearly not true but I reckon everyone needs to learn the realities for themselves, just as expats do when we leave.
  3. The name Mad Cow Burger puts me off. What's next? Happy Worms Sushi?
  4. Coming out is very dependent on your personal situation and the social environment and era you're in. Harvey Milk said come out come out come out wherever you are, but the truth is for some people doing so is ruinous. I only had a few very negative experiences with it with close people (who cares what strangers think). Another was a much closer friend, a guy I had grown up with from a very young age, very close to his entire family, hung out at his house all the time. Unlike the Yalie he wasn't too bright but he was very likeable. I delayed coming out to him as long as possible out of fear of unpleasantness. I faked being straight to him for many years going into earlier adulthood. The guy had issues with his heterosexualty, spent his money at strip clubs, even had an incident with a mental patient as part of his work that ended his career is psychology. Eventually I had no choice but to come out to him as he visited me in San Franciso and I had a boyfriend, and he was very angry that I had deceived him for so long by letting him assume I was straight. I don't know how he would have reacted if I had come out much earlier, but I actually understood his anger because acting straight around him for so long was really a kind of betrayal of friendship and don't blame him for his reaction. Another one where the friendship ended instantly that hurt much more. Then there was a doozie. Another close boyhood friend, I had backpacked around Europe with him at 15, a genius he went to M.I.T. early. He kind of figured me out based on an incident with some slutty Finnish girls in Munich (we split up as travel partners). That piece of work bragged to people that he went out at night to attack gay people in a local cruising spot that I knew about. Didn't bother officially coming out to that weirdo -- just ended communication.
  5. Probably true. I think there is a stigma associated with Telegram. A lot of criminals use it for its privacy features.
  6. Yeah words like that can really be weaponized. Not pervert but in my case I had a somewhat religious good friend from high school not attracted to him in the slightest and when I came out to him he said you're a degenerate and ended the friendship on the spot. Obviously turned out to not be a real friend but who was the real degenerate? The guy was highly intelligent and went to Yale. I've wondered if he ever grew out of his immature homophobia.
  7. You poor dear! Bless your heart! You are such a victim! So unfair! Oh the humanity!
  8. Juicy Georgia peaches. Yeah baby.
  9. I don't think it should legally matter to Thailand even if you had five permanent residences in your passport. But I understand how double dipping might confuse some officers. Making them think. Not polite!
  10. Diplomacy could have been simply sending a message of condolence. Thailand doing the national half mast flag thing is overkill and most definitely sends a different and much more disturbing message to those who don't appreciate the Iranian regime..
  11. Yes, and whatsapp rules Latin America. But I am using Telegram to communicate with certain people outside of Thailand. It's really quite good. There are also Telegram channels which can either be informative or total misinformation.
  12. Different point. Nobody has ever been called a pervert just for being a heterosexual. Get the difference?
  13. As a NOUN (check my link) it's obviously anti-gay hate speech when describing gay people as perverts. Again, you are so dishonest.
  14. You are so dishonest. pervert noun - Definition, pictures, pronunciation and usage notes | Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary at OxfordLearnersDictionaries.com
  15. You're just wrong. Objectively wrong. Trans woman Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
  16. Yeah I'm aware of all that negative stuff and more. EU Europeans don't have any visa hurdles in EU Europe like Americans do so don't be so smug that Albania might be interesting to them. Also though I'm sure there are Italians investing, living, and working in Albania.
  17. I don't feel to say what I really think so no comment.
  18. Traveller's checks? From what museum? Are they havin' a laff?
  19. More bigotry on display. Some overt. Others shielded with rationalized BS . So predictable.
  20. I think gay traveller's are attracted to gay friendly countries in general all year just as any tourism promotion board would. There is a reason that Taiwan and Spain are much more popular among gay travellers than Iran or Jamaica or Russia.
