Hope for same-sex marriage still a faint glimmer in Thailand
Jingthing replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Separate but equal is not equality. By definition. Nobody is suggesting that sexual minorities are or ever will be the majority. Thats a red herring fear game you're playing. Being gay is not a lifestyle. Surfing is a lifestyle. You're trivializing others lives by using that dated insulting term. -

AstraZeneca offers no protection against Omicron after 100 days
Jingthing replied to webfact's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
I was looking before at a 6 month time frame. It seems Moderna is very scarce and when supplies appear they sell out instantly. I want Pfizer anyway. As the government is now saying those with 2 AZ need a boost in 3 months not 6 they really need to back that up with formal national access. -

Did they have TWO AZ jabs before?!? Makes a big difference! There has been a formal program for people that had Sino then AZ. As yet I have seen no such program that includes people that had two AZ. -

Not your business. Some do. If you're straight you have the option. It's not required. -

So better a child is not adopted by anyone than a single person or a same sex married couple? Hmm. Really? The practical world reality globally is that adoption candidates are carefully screened and single people and same sex couples often get a difficult to place child if they get any child at all. Also consider lesbian couples. Most will not need to adopt to have a baby. Just some sperm not hard to get. Consider their children. They are much better off legally when their parents have a legalized marriage. -

The struggle for equal civil rights for sexual minorities is an INTERNATIONAL movement. Your attitude reeks of ignorance, bigotry. and hatred.- 197 replies

I think being against equal rights for sexual minorities is like racism. Nothing to be proud of. Homophobia doesn't accurately describe anti-gay prejudice. Here's a word that does. (slate.com)- 197 replies

Popping in for a moment now. I've intentionally kept my distance on getting into the weeds on the reaction to my initial post where I already said pretty much what I wanted to say on the subject. It's good to see that people have run with it and taken it in a myriad of questionably related directions, but that's of course predictable. But I do want to respond to one thing anyway. The use of "do your own research" as a RED FLAG code word by believers in utter conspiracy theory misinformation is really NOT limited to the vaccine issue. It's used in many political contexts as well (such as the BIG LIE related to the last U.S. presidential election). The notorious Q cult is certainly not limited to vaccines, and that cult has now spread internationally. There are facts. There are opinions. There are lies. This is not an original thought but we are now in a place where large majorities of people can't agree on basic shared views of facts and reality. That can't be good for "civilization" and it's certainly not good for democracy.

Slosheroni, are you going to use the 65K baht per month INCOME method or the 800K in a Thai bank for extensions in Thailand? If the income method, that's a very specific thing and there are many many topics here on how to do that (sending the 65K every month to Thailand) and about the pitfalls (there are definitely pitfalls). When I was suggesting SWIFT wires it comes from my perspective which is sending one or two wires annually from the U.S. to my visa qualifying Thai bank account.

Possible retirement non-o extension refusal
Jingthing replied to Terry2905's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I wouldn't do it unless formally ordered. I have been and do report at Jomtien. Jomtien does keep the paper but no receipt. I would not and would not suggest reporting if not given the order paper. The OP was ordered. He should comply. -

You should do the bank report in three months as ordered.
