Thailand to target ‘quality’ and first time visitors
Jingthing replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You couldn't make this stuff up but TAT could and did. -
Leisure travellers unlikely to visit Thailand until next year

Me. Been there done that. Mazatlan Sinoloa is a wonderful destination and viewed by expats as a lower cost alternative to Puerto Vallarta. -

I was about to say fresh meat doesn't know too much yet but I guess that is redundant. -
Anyone been offered booster shots yet?
Jingthing replied to ivor bigun's topic in Health and Medicine
Astra is not Mrna but it still can be used as a booster. -
Is this the end of Thailand as a Retirement Destination

Are zoomers any better than boomers?

Indeed. Flashback time. It sounded like this but didn't look like this. -

I'm curious about the medical implications of getting an Mrna booster after two AZ doses earlier or later than the optimal time. I think the optimal time is 6 months after the second dose. Correct me if I'm wrong. So I'm assuming 5 or 7 months later? But how about 9 months or a year later? -

Not the end for all. But the end for many. I do not recommend Thailand for retirement.- 371 replies

Too many chairs? How many have you got?
Jingthing replied to Jingthing's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I can regrettably relate. -

Let's be clear here. It is Thai government policy to try to booster people that got two Sinovac doses. However it is not current Thai government policy to boost those that got two Astra doses. They have our history. Lying won't work. Hopefully that policy will change later. To add getting a third Astra dose is an effective booster too. -

A nightmare - testing positive on arrival in Thailand
Jingthing replied to anchadian's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Its basically criminalization of infection. No regular tourist in their right mind would volunteer for that but I guess some at least are not in their right mind. -

Abandon such hope. Thailand doing draconian stuff to foreigners is not news. -

The rules have changed in the middle of the game. Now large bean bags that you can sit on do count as chairs. Does anyone actually have one? The 70s are calling and wants to take a picture. That said the question about whether hot dogs in a bun count as sandwiches remains undetermined. -
Is Philippines good for expats?
Jingthing replied to ASEAN NOW News's topic in Philippines General Chat
This boychik is rather young to give retirement advice, but I think this is good information. However, I think his estimates for rent in Cebu City are too low. I've been to Dumaguette and Cebu City, but I really would like to check out Tagaytay. -

Straw mats do not count! -
Well you could use a marriage visa. However, overall, I would not recommend Thailand for retirement except for the very wealthy (because that's the group that is actually WELCOME here). Better to choose a country that offers a path to permanent residency or even citizenship and even better entry into their health care system. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Thailand is a bad place to retire purely as a place to LIVE. It's actually quite good. The problem is the VISA SYSTEM.

That was unkind. -

Count 'em or they don't exist. -
How many chairs do you have (in what sized housing space)? Do not count sofas, small stools, bean bags, or toilet seats. I've got SEVEN (count em' 7) in a one bedroom. Some are never used to sit in. Some are used for other things than sitting. Inspired by Joe Pera.
