  1. Laos is more of a retirement destination for "pioneers" but the Philippines has one of the most robust formal retired expat programs in the world, the SRRV, and has for a long time.
  2. It depends. When I went in I could only pay and come back 10 days later. Not bad but that shows that if you got same day, you were probably lucky.
  3. Philippines should definitely be on the list. Vietnam shouldn't be.
  4. The New York Times branding has taken effect and it looks different now. I like it less but it is the same game.
  5. Exposed yes definitely. Technically infected? Not all the experts agree on that.
  6. I would definitely pick Malaysia IF I qualified.
  7. I don't qualify for Malaysia"s long term visa yet I do qualify for Cambodia's. Home country is a last resort. So this is a no brainer.
  8. Breakups are not a rare suicide trigger. This case from that height makes it more notable.
  9. There's no mystery about the result from that height. Also plenty of time in the air to think this was a mistake. I don't understand workers covering their eyes. Yes no doubt the scene was very horrible but don't workers need to see what they're doing?
  10. The reason I am encouraging people to not make this a political debate topic and instead talk about impacts on expats in Thailand is that members may not start political debate topics.
  11. You edited my post OUT OF CONTEXT to intentionally change the meaning of what I wrote. Do you really think that is acceptable?
  12. The topic HERE is lasagna.
  13. It can actually be excellent but usually isn't.
  14. Yes subjective. I've had it at the first two. Both OK but wouldn't repeat. Bechamel or not I also think really great lasagna is very hard to find here.
  15. Like I said ricotta (plus other cheeses), no bechamel, and sometimes spinach is the standard Italian American style. Its how my Mother made it. I think its much better to get the creamy element from ricotta but of course food tastes are subjective.
  16. Do you want bechamel sauce in it or not? I prefer not. What I love is more Italian American style including ricotta and spinach.
