Without looking at them right now, an obvious huge difference is that the USA was a MUCH WHITER nation back then, and a big part of the maga movement is about white resentment that the USA isn't that anymore and the fascists like Stephen Miller (often called a Jewish Nazi and I concur) are working hard to reverse that as much as possible.

Stop it. Nobody is saying that Trump is literally Hitler. The Trump regime, however, is a white nationalist one and is following many of the exact same tactics of other authoritarian regimes (Hitler, Orban, Putin, etc.) to consolidate power to one man/one party rule. As far as taxes, Trump's REGRESSIVE tariff taxes on consumers represents one of the biggest tax raises in history. Of course, the right don't feel it. Everone else does.

It seemed to me and I think most people that it was a border conflict complicated with hidden "stuff" related to power personalities in both countries and scam fueled economy in Cambodia that had got out of hand. I never felt for a moment that it had potential to become a full blown war beyond the border areas. Of course I can't prove that. But it's not as if either side had any interest in conquering / occupying the other country which would be more typical in a full blown war.

That's an interesting distinction. It's an objective fact that Trump lies with historically epic volume. It's also a common assertion that he has mental issues -- narcissistic personality disorder mixed with dementia, etc. While a normal person who lies knows they are lying, Trump is obviously not even close to mentally normal. So POSSIBLY he actually lives in a bubble world of his own where he actually BELIEVES his own lies.

So Trump seems to be claiming all the credit (as he does) for the Thailand-Cambodia border conflict so called peace deal. He was obviously not the only one involved in the negotiation and Thailand calls it only a pathway to peace. That said, whoever deserves credit and whether or not it's a real peace deal, any progress in the direction of peace is welcome. The POLL question here is do you agree with Mr. Trump that his actions saved MILLIONS OF LIVES in Thalland and Cambodia, or not?
