  1. Charge him with cruelty to animals, arrest him, try him, if found guilty, put him in jail for about 6 months, and then deport him.😡
  2. The hostages are the only thing keeping Israel from completely decimating what's left of Palestine. This genocide (and I do know what it means) has been going on for over 70 years. There may not have been any IDF in what was left of Gaza until after Oct 7, but there have been many, many military incursions into Palestinian land, including Gaza, over the past 70 years. See the maps below to see what's been happening...
  3. Israel has been carrying out its genocide of Palestinians in all of Palestine for over 70 years. Here is a map of Palestine showing the way it looked in 1946, how it was divided up in 1947, and how it looked in 2012, well before the Oct 7 attack. This loss of land wasn't the result of Israel buying land from Palestinians; It was the result of Israeli military actions. The hostages are the only bargaining chip Hamas has. They cannot threaten Israel with military action. Hamas will release its hostages when a two-state agreement is reached with Israel that includes the removal of all IDF from all Palestinian land. Also, this agreement will have to be enforced by other countries or organizations (like the UN) because, otherwise, as soon as Hamas releases all the hostages, the IDF will come in a completely decimate the rest of Palestine. Yes, I have and will continue to criticize Hamas for their Oct 7 attack and their taking hostages, but I will also continue to criticize Israel for its 70-year-long genocidal actions regarding Palestine. I am not anti-Semitic (which, by the way, means anti-Jews AND anti-Arabs - if you doubt this, look up the word "Semite.") Also, I actually had no idea what has been happening in Palestine until I started searching this after the Oct 7 attack. It was not the start of a war; it was just a new chapter in a 70-year-long war.
  4. I'm sorry to hear about the robbery, but what can you expect when you bring people (three of them) back to your hotel room by promising them you'll pay them for sex? Pattaya is disgusting! 👎
  5. I'm glad to hear the snake was captured and released back into the wild instead of being killed. 👍
  6. Just another daily example of how Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians. This time, it's not even done in Gaza. 😡
  7. Just another example of what Israel is doing every day in Gaza (and less violently in the West Bank) - an attempt at genocide.
  8. Yes, but I've also gotten to know foreigners who talk small but live big (or at least very, very comfortably).
  9. Yes! But then, in 1973 when the song was released, all those things you say above were beginning to be done by the TV. Frank Zappa was, of course, like a lot of songwriters of that era, way ahead of his time. I especially like the lines: I am the tool of the Government And industry too For I am destined to rule And regulate you That's EXACTLY describes today's social media, IMO, and part of which you describe in your post above. And while we're "slightly off-topic," I also think my first example of a "profound lyric" also applies to today's political scene: "How many times can a man turn his head and pretend that he just doesn't see?" Thanks for your reply... 😉
  10. And here's another one from Frank Zappa that is true today, if updated to include not only TVs, but all online social media: I am gross and perverted I'm obsessed 'n deranged I have existed for years But very little had changed I am the tool of the Government And industry too For I am destined to rule And regulate you I may be vile and pernicious But you can't look away I make you think I'm delicious With the stuff that I say I am the best you can get Have you guessed me yet? I am the slime oozin' out From your TV set You will obey me while I lead you And eat the garbage that I feed you Until the day that we don't need you Don't go for help...no one will heed you Your mind is totally controlled It has been stuffed into my mold And you will do as you are told Until the rights to you are sold That's right, folks.. Don't touch that dial Well, I am the slime from your video Oozin' along on your livingroom floor I am the slime from your video Can't stop the slime, people, lookit me go!"
  11. I have heard some very profound lyrics in my life, but I only associate them with older songs. That might be because I don't listen to modern songs very much. Just one example of the songwriters whose songs have lyrics I consider "profound" is: "How many times can a man turn his head and pretend that he just doesn't see?" 🥺- "Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan - 1963
  12. I don't think all MAGA are "dumb." I think most of them have just been conned by Trump 😞, but there are some that must actually have the same values as he does. These, I don't know if you could call them "dumb" or just egotistical, narcissistic, and egocentric. 😡
  13. If Thailand kisses his ass, he'll lower the tariffs back to 10%, won't he? 😮
  14. I appreciate the response above, but it's hard for me to believe the Surviving Spouse is not at the top of the list.
  15. I believe any bar owner has the right to deny filming in their business. I think any business, like a restaurant or even a retail store, has that right. I do not believe, however, that the owner has the right to assault someone breaking the rules of his business. They certainly do have the right to remove them, but not assault them.
  16. Zohran Mamdani may not be a Democrat, but I do support the social and economic policies he's spoken about - at least the one's I've read online.
  17. I don't think immunity is what the doctor is looking for. I'm sure he believes he has done nothing wrong. He has just treated his patient as best he can, and now he's exerting his patient's right to privacy as any good physician would do.
  18. I plan to live in Thailand for the rest of my life. If, for some reason, I couldn't live here any longer, my next choice would be back in the USA, specifically in Alaska, on one of the islands that make up the Aleutian Islands, the curved chain of islands located south of Alaska, extending downwards and westward towards Russia. I'd build a cabin there as long as I could get water and electricity, and had access to supplies in a small town near the cabin site.
  19. This guy has been punished for delivering an anti-Semitic sermon that was anti-Jewish and pro-Muslim. But I don't think he would have been punished of delivering an anti-Semitic sermon that was anti-Muslim and pro-Jewish. 😡
  20. Yes! I've always said the difference between right-wing capitalists and left-wing socialists is just the first letter of a two-letter word. Right-wing capitalists are, as you say above, "ME ME ME!" Left-wing socialists are "WE WE WE!"
  21. Assuming you now have good health, whether or not you should buy health insurance depends on your age. If you're middle-aged (in your 40s), the premiums might not be so high. But if you're older (above 60), the premiums are very expensive. I've lived in Thailand for over 20 years and have gone to both private and public hospitals. I have found the public hospitals very good, but they often require you to spend the whole day there just to see a doctor. But their fees for us, non-Thais, are very low, I'd estimate only 10% of what a private hospital charges. I'm 79 now and don't have any health insurance, but feel confident that if/when I need medical attention, a public hospital will be able to provide me the care I need.
  22. I retired to Thailand 22 years ago, when I was 64, and a year later, I married a Thai woman who was twenty years younger than me. We built a house on her land in a rural area of northeast Thailand in Phetchabun Province and have lived there ever since. In fact, we just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. In the mountains of northeast Thailand, many Thai men have younger wives, and some even have multiple wives. There is no problem with a man marrying a woman who is younger than him.
