  1. This is more faulty reasoning. If that were true, they could not be called "human shields." They would just be the actual "terrorists."
  2. First of all, I never claimed Hamas was provoked by the festival (although I suspect they were). I never claimed the festival was the reason for the attack. I never blamed Israel for allowing the festival to take place next to the Gaza border. What I did do, explaining that for the THIRD TIME, was to show you that your argument blaming Hamas for the deaths of their "human shields" was faulty, and I used the festival as an example of that faulty reasoning. And, yes, I know Hamas had been planning this attack for a long time, and there is evidence that Israel ALSO knew about it. I think the festival was just an easy target when the attack did come.
  3. The kids in schools and the doctors, workers, and patients in hospitals were not put there by Hamas to act as human shields.
  4. What are you on? My remark was in reference to your post blaming the killing of "human shields" on Hamas. The IDF is the group that is killing them. Hamas did put them there, but so did the Israelis allow the concert near the border with Gaza. I'm not blaming Israel for that, but if you use the same argument as you do about "human shields," you could.
  5. Yes, the "basics" are that Isreal has been seizing Palestinian land since 1949...
  6. I understand that, of course. I bring it up all the time. You were the one complaining about a "history lesson."
  7. They have never accepted a Palestinian state. At least they have been seizing parts of it continually over the past 70 years.
  8. No need to contact any of the news media. They all know this. It's just some on this topic that think all this began on Oct 7, 2023.
  9. I', sad to say that everything you've said above seems to be true, but if you trade around the terms "Palestine" and "Israel," I'm also sad to say that seems to be true, too.
  10. Do you consider the continual citing of the events of Oct 7 also a "history lesson"? This conflict, of which this "war" is just the latest episode, has been going on for at least 80 years.
  11. I agree they cannot LOSE this war, but they do not have to WIN it. They could sit down with Hamas and work out all the ceasefire/hostages/prisoners issues and then move on to creating a two-state solution.
  12. I did not support my country's (USA) military during the Vietnam War. I would have refused to go if I had been drafted.
  13. No, you (Wobblybob) will never accept an answer as being truthful if it comes from someone you think hates Israel.
  14. That's a bad argument. If you accepted that line of reasoning, you could blame Israel for the Oct 7 attack by saying they shouldn't have allowed an open-air concert so close to the border with Gaza.
  15. For a change, I agree with everything you said above, except for the "falsely" adverb in the last point...
  16. By reaching an agreement about how to end this war...
  17. Or, if the IDF invaders would not kill human shields...
  18. No, I do admit that Hamas is losing this "war." That's apparent. However, since Hamas also holds 300+ hostages and is getting more and more of the world on its side because of the appalling actions of IDF in Gaza, they are still in a position to accept an agreement that will include a permanent/sustained ceasefire and exchange of hostages/prisoners. Then, with the support of their new allies or at least the waning of the support of Israeli allies, maybe there can be an agreement on a two-state solution. We'll just have to wait and see what happens here. And, you are hiding behind bombs and a superior military force.
  19. This war has EVERYTHING to do with racism. Both sides hate the other because of their race - Jew/Arab.
  20. To teach the terrorists a lesson! No, to terrorize children and families. This is what the IDF is now....
  21. The Palestinian attack on Israel on Oct 7 is just another "war" in a series of "wars" that have been waged over control of land since 1948. I assume you know this but want to keep pretending that all this came out of nowhere on Oct 7. But, yes, I believe that until a two-state solution that is acceptable to both sides is reached, the "war" that started on Oct 7 will just be repeated. And that might happen even after a two-state solution is agreed upon. Both are playing with fire. Both have been burnt, but neither seems ready to back off yet.
  22. Yes, I've seen something about that on CNN. Hopefully, some proposal will come out of those efforts.
  23. I don't see your point, Israel has a task to dismantle Hamas for they started on the on 7/10, that task has not been fully completed, should the terrorists surrender and hand over the hostages the war would end, the ball is in their court. To quote Douglas Adams "you don't put 3/4 of a fire out, you put it all out." I posted this mainly to show you how much devastation there is of even 35% of an area. If Israel wants the hostages back, they should present a proposal to Hamas. The ball is in both courts. Either one could present a proposal. "...beware of playing with fire, you will get burned." Joseph J. Ellis
  24. Just for a comparison, when the US dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki in 1947, 40% of Nagasaki's buildings were destroyed... what percent of nagasaki was destroyed - Search (bing.com)
  25. Not permitted to link Reuters? Where can you see a list of all these rules?
