  1. Do you consider the continual citing of the events of Oct 7 also a "history lesson"? This conflict, of which this "war" is just the latest episode, has been going on for at least 80 years.
  2. I agree they cannot LOSE this war, but they do not have to WIN it. They could sit down with Hamas and work out all the ceasefire/hostages/prisoners issues and then move on to creating a two-state solution.
  3. I did not support my country's (USA) military during the Vietnam War. I would have refused to go if I had been drafted.
  4. No, you (Wobblybob) will never accept an answer as being truthful if it comes from someone you think hates Israel.
  5. That's a bad argument. If you accepted that line of reasoning, you could blame Israel for the Oct 7 attack by saying they shouldn't have allowed an open-air concert so close to the border with Gaza.
  6. For a change, I agree with everything you said above, except for the "falsely" adverb in the last point...
  7. By reaching an agreement about how to end this war...
  8. Or, if the IDF invaders would not kill human shields...
  9. No, I do admit that Hamas is losing this "war." That's apparent. However, since Hamas also holds 300+ hostages and is getting more and more of the world on its side because of the appalling actions of IDF in Gaza, they are still in a position to accept an agreement that will include a permanent/sustained ceasefire and exchange of hostages/prisoners. Then, with the support of their new allies or at least the waning of the support of Israeli allies, maybe there can be an agreement on a two-state solution. We'll just have to wait and see what happens here. And, you are hiding behind bombs and a superior military force.
  10. This war has EVERYTHING to do with racism. Both sides hate the other because of their race - Jew/Arab.
  11. To teach the terrorists a lesson! No, to terrorize children and families. This is what the IDF is now....
  12. The Palestinian attack on Israel on Oct 7 is just another "war" in a series of "wars" that have been waged over control of land since 1948. I assume you know this but want to keep pretending that all this came out of nowhere on Oct 7. But, yes, I believe that until a two-state solution that is acceptable to both sides is reached, the "war" that started on Oct 7 will just be repeated. And that might happen even after a two-state solution is agreed upon. Both are playing with fire. Both have been burnt, but neither seems ready to back off yet.
  13. Yes, I've seen something about that on CNN. Hopefully, some proposal will come out of those efforts.
  14. I don't see your point, Israel has a task to dismantle Hamas for they started on the on 7/10, that task has not been fully completed, should the terrorists surrender and hand over the hostages the war would end, the ball is in their court. To quote Douglas Adams "you don't put 3/4 of a fire out, you put it all out." I posted this mainly to show you how much devastation there is of even 35% of an area. If Israel wants the hostages back, they should present a proposal to Hamas. The ball is in both courts. Either one could present a proposal. "...beware of playing with fire, you will get burned." Joseph J. Ellis
  15. Just for a comparison, when the US dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki in 1947, 40% of Nagasaki's buildings were destroyed... what percent of nagasaki was destroyed - Search (bing.com)
  16. Not permitted to link Reuters? Where can you see a list of all these rules?
  17. If the IDF does not stop soon, it will be 70%.
  18. "Numerous times I stated that Palestine deserves its own statehood as does Israel..." I don't recall you doing that, but I'll take your word for it. If you have, you don't state that the Palestine state needs to be part of the land now in question, and you don't explain how that land might be divided into a two-state solution. I've suggested starting any negotiations on a two-state solution with the division of land as is in the UN's 1947/48 map and then going from there.
  19. This case is worst than that because BOTH parties are just pissing on international laws, and BOTH sides are doing what THEY THINK has to be done. I do agree with your last sentence above.
  20. My speculation is what Hamas was thinking when they launched their terrorist attack on Israel on 7 Oct was that Israel would respond pretty much as it has, which would do two things: 1. Wake the world up so they would pay attention to how Israel was continuing to occupy Palestinian land, and; 2. Provoke Israel into a counterattack, which would, as they've done in the past, be completely over-the-top and weaken their support from their allies, bringing more of the world onto the side of the Palestinians. And, if that was their thinking...it's working!
  21. What I'd also like to know is what the Israeli [censored] government thought of the US-backed resolution.
  22. I'll try to not do that again. What happens, I think, is I respond to a remark on a remark I made to someone else and then don't notice that this remark is from you. Like I said, I'll try to be more careful.
  23. I said, then, that it was Bkk Brian who posted the video and called it "hilarious." You agreed with almost everything he then said. That was the gist of my remark. What ruins the debate (I'd call it an "argument") is when you get offended at something I've said that is a bit misdirected. Just call me out on it and be done with it. I guarantee I will never accuse you of something you said if I know you didn't. You say enough things of which I disagree that I don't have to make any up,
  24. Yes, what about them? They are as believable to me as the Al Jazeerah links are to you.
