A whole £50 million, wow. That is about 4 days worth of hotel accomodation, not counting the Approx 20,000 that have arrived since the GE. Since the GE, Labour have paid up to £3000 per person to bribe 600 Brazilian and 49 African, visa overstayers to return home. Why they were not rounded up and forcefully repatriate is something only known to Labour. Can soneone remind me how much Thailand pays overstayers to return home 😀😀

I have now gave you 2 different parts of the Revenue Code where it states a Revenue Officer will 1. Make an assessment and tell you how much tax you have to pay 2. What to do if you do not agree with the assessment of the Assessment Officer. It is in black and white in the Revenue Code. How that pans out with online filing I have no idea, but I am not convinced they will be up to speed with algorithms and given the propensity for large amounts of people and wasting forests, I'm inclined to believe that online filing will be gone through manually. However, none of that addresses the other point where I believe you are going wrong. Which is actual tax filing, which, according to the Revenue Code is assessable income above the 60k / 120k / 220k limits requires a tax return to be filed, and not as you believe, total assessable income, minus TEDA's, takes me below those thresholds and therefore have no need to file anything. That needs clarified by the RD, as I believe you are reading it wrong.

UK Pensioners in Thailand Face New Scrutiny Over Pension Fraud

No, not in the minds of the deluded. I did try and educate them on fraud. I did try and educate on the implications of the tansfer code ????? / DWP / ????? You cannot educate pork. -
Been through this before. KBank and every other bank require this information to comply with CRS. This is not banks being a PITA, It is not Thailand being a PITA, it is required to comply with the reporting procedures dictated by an International agreement that Thailand has signed up to. Again, you are confusing reporting limits with taxation limits once allownces and deductions are applied. If your interpretation is correct X - Y = Z, therfore no need to file, why does the RD have this https://www.rd.go.th/english/23517.html Do you see who makes an assessment of assessable income ? An assessment Officer, not an individual. If it was up to individuals, there would be no need for a dispute resolution mechanism, every filing would be spot on.

That little sentence that says " You also risk having to pay a penalty or may have legal action taken against you " Is a misprint and shouldn't have been written 😀😀 There will be a few confused faces when State Pension payments are suddenly suspended -

Heaven forfend, not all onformation is made available on a website, who would have thought it, especially when it pertains to potential fraus or criminality. Malfeasance will never come in to the equation in the protection of public money. Someone wishing it to be so. Does not make it so. -
1. Get an annual bank statement 2. Attach whatever proof you have of where the money comes from, taxes being paid etc. 3. File safely at home in an A4 envelope marked on the front Thai Tax Year 2024. 4. A photo taken at your Revenue Dept Office might also be a good idea. Whilst this will not prove that you tried to register and get a TIN, it would be handy to have in the event that you were invited for an interview.

I don't think that they are averse to obtaining a Thai TIN per se. I think, for some, they are averse to their home Countries finding out where they are. Email reply I recieved last week I cannot remember, but I'm pretty sure that I did not complete these forms when I opened the account over a decade ago. I possibly signed them in January 2024, when I last done a lot of stuff in Branch, but cannot remember.

UK Pensioners in Thailand Face New Scrutiny Over Pension Fraud
The Cyclist replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You need to add in addition to being dead, a reason to believe that fraud is being committyed, any number of other offences are being committed and State Pension can be suspended until investigated and all found to be in order. You would be hard pushed to prove malfeasance when it comes to the protection of Public Funds, far less be sacked for it. Perhaps the question you should ask yourself. Is it possible that lazy Government employees could be incentivised to highlight possible fraudulent claims. The second part of that nonsense, is that it will not be lazy Government employees that are doing the actual investigations, it will be a team of accountants. The current UK Government, is in a bit of a financial pickle, even before the last Budget works its way through the system. Desperation measures will be introduced in time for the new Financial year. As always, you are free to believe whatever you like, and that nothing will have a direct on you. -

Why would I want to read above ? Are you going to howl that the State Pension is not sanctionable ? I couldn't care less if it sanctionable or not Payments can be suspended at any time by the DWP. Failing to update your details and taking annual increases that you are not entitled to, is fraud. And no doubt wazzocks, who think they know better, will find out the hard way. I wont laugh, much. -

You commit fraud, by failing to update your details and continue to pocket Taxpayers money that you are not entitled to. Like Annual uplifts in Countries where the State Pension is frozen. -

I wouldn't waste your time if I was you. Non sanctionable is probably correct. Which doesn't alter the fact that. 1. The DWP can suspend payment of the State Pension. 2. In the case of fraud, it will likely be a Court Appearance. Not sure if the State Pension is atill payable, whilst someone is detained at His Majesties pleasure. -
Labour are not making any unpopular decisions to rectify anything. And I will be happy to educate you on any decision taken so far that you think is a good one. Any idea what Starmers Super Injunction is about 😀😀😀 I will be surprised if Labour are still in Government next Christmas ETA We could start right at the beginning with the £22 Billion black hole. Which by some weird accountancy trick, equates to the 1. £10 Billion Public Sector pay rise. 2. £12 Billion Milliband gave to Africa for Climate Change Crap.
