Well, you could always phone or email him and ask direct. Contact details are in the link provided. Which would satisfy your curiosity, rather than wondering aloud on here. -

No idea, but here is his website. https://www.expattaxthailand.com/ Registered Office is in Bangkok, so I would think ( But dont know ) that he is legal and above board. It might be fair to assume that if he is not legit, he would have been nabbed by now. -

That's why I said It's not beyond the realms of possibility, wouldn't be too difficult, and very simple regarding people who direct deposit things like Government Pensions, US SS etc. The banks would do this for their Individual customes, the transfer code that comes with the remittance readily identifies where the remittance comes from and what it is for. As I have said before, the people who will probably be getting looked at are the people that transfer through a home bank account, wise, or other types of transfer into Thailand.. -

I cannot recommend any names, but I have seen prices rangeing from about 8k up to 25k. The complexity of your financial arrangements will determine the cost. Best to phone around or have a hunt on the internet. -

To comply with CRS. Which is to deter and prevent tax avoidance / evasion. I didn't mention TIN's. But you are wrong again, a TIN is required if you have ' Assessable Income ' in Thailand. Which is not the same as ' Taxable Income ' I posted the thread in response to your previous ' No enforcement ' comment. As I said in response, best wait until summer at the earliest before making any comment on ' No enforcement ' Having had access to the CRS exchange information since 2023. Lets just say that I would not be surprised if the RD have already gone through it. Eliminated people who are exempt tax in Thailand due to DTA's and have a list of people that they expect to file a tax return between Jan - March 2025. Those that have not filed by 31 March, might just get a knock on the door. Last paragraph, is of course, speculation on my part. Although far from the realms of possibility. The sending out of documentation in November concerning FATCA / CRS by banks, is not something that happened bt accident or a coincidence. -
I agree, the last time I had a McDonalds in the UK, over 20 years ago, it could only be described as utter ***** I eat a Mcdonalds here, about 2 or 3 times a year, and to be honest, I have been pleasantly surprised, and I also like their fresh coffee. KFC on the other hand, crap back then, still crap today.

Am I You haven't read this thread yet. I have highlighted the relevant parts You make of it, what you will. -
The process is fairly simple, although it would be advisable to get a Tax Accountant to do the Donkey work with HMRC. 1. Government Pension, no way, unless you are a dual National who returns to original Country 2. State Pension. Dont know, but I think the above would apply. 3. Private pensions, perfectly feasible. Obtain other Country TIN Give to Tax Accountant with details of what you want the NT Tax code to apply to Let the Tax Accountant do the rest. When the dust settles here in Thailand. I'll probably go down that route with my private pension as it will probably benefit me to have it taxed in Thailand, rather than a straight 20% in the UK P85 is the form that needs completed, which can be found and completed online on the HMRC website.

Then don't post it in a public forum, and no-one will be able to conment on it. Clearly you do not As this highlights Or you would, at the very least, understand that it was set up to deter and prevent tax avoidance / evasion. You crack doing what you want to do. Just don't howl too loudly when it bites you on the ****. -

Sure, your do nothing until caught mantra, might never encourage someone to say sod it, I'll never get caught because according to Yumthai, enforcement and punishment is almost none existant. Then you should comply with the rules. And perhaps we should wait until summer 2025 before making any declaration on whether the rules are enforced or not. -

Could you elucidate please ? What screw up ? I wasn't the one that said ' Assessment Officers ' the RD Code says ' Assessment Officers will apply exemptions and deductions ' As always, you carry out, what you believe that you are required to do. Nike...... Just do it -

Then surely one should comply with these rules, even if you do not like them. Of course, if you want to be some middle aged to old rebellious, stick it to the man, type person. By all means crack on. What you should not do is try and encourage others to do the same. -

Your issue to deal with. Jan - March would be my 1st tax filing in Thailand ( If I needed to file ) so I would be doing it person rather than online. If you do not know the answer to something that pertains to you. Maybe get off your **** and go a find out, rather than bumping your gums on here, looking for answers from someone else. -

There are also rules and laws in probably every Country that also suck, why would Thailand be any different. -

Right, let me get this straight. You do not believe that Expats who have stayed in Thailand beyond 180 days in 2024 are classified as Tax Residents of Thailand and if they have remitted ' Assessable Income ' that exceeds that 60k / 120k / 220 k threasholds laid down by the RD, and have to file a tax return. Have I got that correct ? Penalties and enforcement, or lack thereof, are not my concern By that logic I could drink drive every night of the week, and probably never be caught. That wont do me much good though when I wrapped around try bleeding out. -

Probably these guys The above might apply to ' Tax Refunds ' that does not mean it does not apply to all tax filings I already gave you the link to the RD page where it says " An Assessment Officer will apply exemptions and deductions " -

It's right there in the part you quoted, I'll now put in bold for you I think I will stick by my assumption. Recipients of Pensions, Social Security, State Pensions and other odds and sods will not have Baht 1 million tax bills in Thailand. And as they make up the majority of the posters in the thread, I think I am probably correct in the part I just put in bold. -

I have no idea how much US SS is, but I do know that it is not taxable in Thailand Why ? The time to consider it is when it actually becomes a thing. If it does happen, this house will then become a holiday home for 5 months of the year. Stop considering things that might happen, act when they do happen. -

Yes, I would have been in that bracket between 2010 - 19 but it wasn't in force then and I was never a tax resident anyway. You could have done the same as me, by limiting your remitted income income in 2024 until the dust settles. That would have been good forward planning.
