I haven't misinterpretted anything. Money going into your KBank account. Exempt taxable income Mine would read Baht xxxx / Govenment Pension / My UK NI Number. Banks, as the the 1st point of contact under CRS do need to collect the data, as per their reporting obligations under CRS, the 2nd point of contact will be RD Offices, and the 3rd point of contact will be the BoT. As always, you do whatever you think applies to you

Why would you be confused. I do not judge your lifestyle, Do not judge mine by your standards. I have invested a lot of time, money and effort here, and intend to keep on the straight and narrow. You of course, are free to do whatever you like. -

And despite the information that is freely available, especially in the KBank thread, someone is still using the confused icon. Amazing Thailand. -

Have you seen the new forms being emailed currently to KBank account holders ? All other Thai banks will be following shortly. Part 2 List your tax exempt income, provide the source of this tax exempt income, and the TIN / NI number Part 3 Sign and declare that this information is true and accurate. ( There is the Gotcha ) Part 4 Details how and when the bank can close your account You can bet your house that this information will then be passed to the RD at the end of the year, as part of reporting procedures under CRS. -
Just a suggestion, rather than going RD tomorrow. Wait until about the 5 December, go to your bank and get a 12 month printout. Then take that to the RD Office, and show then the printout and request a TIN as you need to file a tax return next month. Might be wasted journey without the 12 month printout.

And there are still some that think this is a scam and will not effect them. The mind truly boggles. ETA And somebody will probably come along and accuse you of being a shill for a tax consultancy. -

I dont have anything to whinge about. It's not me getting my knickers in a twist. I'm quite clear on what actions I need to take in relation to the thread, and I am also very relaxed about those actions The desperation being shown in this thread and others, is almost as thick as butter, mainly by people who are potentially going to be caught out, either by getting stung in Thailand for tax, or info feeding back to their home Country. Just one of the reasons that they feel the need to go on the attack, or try to rubbish anything that does not suit them. -
Then be prepared to receive the same paperwork from your other Thai bank. Read the notes in red at the bottom of Part 2. Where it says for example Amount of Income exempt from Taxation / Type of income exempt from Taxation / Your TIN, or for Brits NI number Then read the notes at Part 3 and 4 https://www.kasikornbank.com/th/Download/Level4_doc/FATCA-CRS-FORM_INDIVIDUAL.pdf

You have been informed of this before TRD receive about 12 million tax returns, and 4 million are " Null " returns. Could you suggest why ? Could it be that people file because they are over certain threasholds, but once TEDA's are applied, they have no actual tax liability ? Or perhaps 4 million people file " Null " returns just to extract the urine with the people at the revenue department. -

If you have exempt income, there is no need to file a tax return This is the Document currently being emailed out by KBank https://www.kasikornbank.com/th/Download/Level4_doc/FATCA-CRS-FORM_INDIVIDUAL.pdf Have a look at the bottom of part 2, where it says Amount of income exempted from taxation / Type of income exempted from taxation / Under issuing TIN Write it in the box below, no doubt that information will be shared with the Revenue Department.

I wasn't. Sarcasm not your thing Assessable Income is Taxable Income, where no tax may be due depending on the size of the assessable income, and the TEDA's that may apply. Would be how I read ' Assessable Income ' -

Does that dichotomy sometimes go by the name of fear ? It would appear that some are bricking it and grasping at any straw that blows past in the wind. -

You should have read the whole form https://www.kasikornbank.com/th/Download/Level4_doc/FATCA-CRS-FORM_INDIVIDUAL.pdf The bottom of part 2 Fill in the " Amount of Income exempted to taxation / Types of income exempted from taxation / Under issuing TIN " So in my case. XX Baht / Government Pension / NI number. Which will tie in with my P60's, which is my papertrail. And I am not convinced that * Mandatory if you have taxable income is correct. I think that should read * Mandatory if you have assessable income ( Which to be pedantic, could be called taxable income, before Deductions and allowances are made ) -
This is basically the question that I had a at this time last year. It took me about 8 months to get a definitive answer on whether I needed to file a tax return ( for administrative purposes ) on remitted income that was only taxable in the UK. Thankfully in my case, the answer is no. Not much to use to you, I know. You might have to go to your RD Office, visa in hand and ask them 😀😀

You require a TIN in Thailand, if you are a Tax Resident and have ' Assessable Income ' Agreed ? I posted the link to other thread, to highlight that moves are afoot regarding Expats in Thailand, which are to related to FATCA / CRS. I never posted it, due to specific wording that might be on the attached forms, or on the generic send out from K Bank . Which may contain errors due to translation. You apparently have nothing to worry about, so I am not sure why you are getting so sentimental. -

Sorry ? You are the one questioning his credentials. If you are so vexed about the guy, take his website and videos to the authorities and tell them he is operating without the correct credentials. He might even be in the same boat as the shouty American guy.... A Thai Citizen But you crack, if it makes you feel better.
