Young woman's body discovered under the expressway
Georgealbert replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
Thai media reported. “Ms. #### (name removed), nickname "Nong Ming Ming," from, Tha Sak Subdistrict, Phichai District, Uttaradit Province, was murdered by having her throat slashed. She was found naked, with both hands chopped off, and wrapped in a blanket, and tied with 3 belts, and weights. The arrested assailant and the deceased, were both 18 years old, and students at Rajabhat University.” -
You clearly do not understand the deferred prosecution deal. Here is a further quote from the article of the screenshot, which again explains the deal. “Families of those who died say that the deal Boeing reached with the Department of Justice (DoJ) in 2021 to resolve a criminal conspiracy charge was a "sweetheart agreement" which violated their rights and allowed the company to avoid being held fully accountable. The DoJ has defended its decision, insisting that the settlement was appropriate, because it could not prove beyond reasonable doubt that there was a direct connection between Boeing's alleged crimes and the two crashes.” This is the link to the full article. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-64390546 Your second link to is a citzen.org, is an opinion piece, which as I have been saying, the DOJ, will announce in July, what action is being taken. That link also tells you, who struck the very lenient agreement with Boeing. The Max 8 crashes. Lion Air JT610 “Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) published its final 322-page accident investigation report on the October 2018 Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX flight JT610 crash, finding that it was caused by a combination of an improperly aligned angle of attack (AOA) sensor, lack of pilot reporting and training as well as a breakdown in safety oversight of certification and design flaws shared between Boeing and the FAA within the aircraft’s manoeuvring characteristics augmentation system (MCAS) system. The report does not explicitly state a singular cause for the crash, but instead lists a total of 89 findings that KNKT investigators discovered about a multitude of factors that caused the JT610 crash to kill all 189 passengers and flight crew onboard. New revealings in the report include the discovery of the reason the AOA sensor was feeding faulty information to the flight control computer was that it was most likely improperly repaired by a U.S.-based maintenance repair facility.” https://www.flightradar24.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/JT610-PK-LQP-Final-Report.pdf Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 According to the EAIB’s final report, electrical problems that existed since the time of the accident airplane’s production caused the left angle-of-attack (AOA) sensor heater to fail, which resulted in the AOA sensor providing erroneous values that caused the MCAS to pitch the nose of the airplane downward, resulting in ground impact. However, the final report does not provide any details to support the EAIB’s statements about the existence of an electrical problem related to the left AOA sensor. The US team found that the erroneous AOA sensor output was caused by the separation of the AOA sensor vane due to impact with a foreign object, which was most likely a bird.During the accident investigation, the NTSB provided the EAIB with the evidence supporting this finding. In fact, each set of NTSB comments detailed this evidence. https://bea.aero/fileadmin/user_upload/ET_302__B737-8MAX_ACCIDENT_FINAL_REPORT.pdf Note finding 50 in the report. 50. MCAS and the lack of pilot training did not trigger the accident; however it was the failure of the sensors due to the production quality defects. If the intermittent defects did not cause the AOA Sensors to fail on the accident flight, MCAS would not have activated, and the accident would not have occurred. The MCAS would have remained as [a] hidden threat until its true nature is exposed by some other valid or erroneous causes.

Luxury Porsche worth over 10 million baht catches fire in Bangkok
Georgealbert replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Thank you. I do try to only give a fact and experience based opinion, and then also try to provide basic details to explain, why I reached that conclusion. -
“FACTS not opinions )must be prosecuted and convicted.” You seem to think that if you keep repeating yourself, with the same opinion, it makes it a fact. 55555 There were no prosecutions from the Max 8 crashes, because of the sweetheart, deferred prosecution deal. That is a real fact, which you lack the ability to see. i have linked the deferred prosecution deal previously, try reading it, that deal is the fact. All I can do is post these real facts, but is impossible for me help you understand, which you clearly do not. I also notice, you have never answered the question, when I asked if you know who gave Boeing the deferred prosecution deal, is that because it does not fit your agenda? So instead you choose to deflect the reality and post your rant, again and again, claiming it is now the truth. Try sticking to the facts, which is the Department of Justice, will announce in July, the extent that Boeing has breached the deal and if there are going to be any prosecutions.
-
This discussion has been had on these threads. The fact is Boeing was given a deferred prosecution agreement, which protected them and their staff. That may change when the a decision is given, by the department of justice in July, to what action is to be taken. You continuing to repeat the same opinion, is not going to change the real facts.

Luxury Porsche worth over 10 million baht catches fire in Bangkok
Georgealbert replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Sorry, but none of the pictures in this thread show any evidence that emergency responders used foam, during this fire. The original picture shows a standard firefighting hand controlled water nozzle being used, on a spray/fog setting, rather than a firefighting jet. A spray pattern produces water droplets, and hence has a faster cooling rate on a fire. Bangkok Fire Service normally carry AFFF (aqueous film forming foam) on first response trucks. Depending on the type of foam making nozzle used, will determine the type of foam blanket achieved. It will be either low or medium expansion foam (low expansion most commonly used), as shown in 2 reference pictures below. -

Below is the picture, already posted in the thread before emergency responders got to the scene, and as you see, the jacks are not in place, with staff using a hosepipe and a bowl of water to try to extinguish the developing fire. The emergency responders, with the showroom technicians, used the jacks to access the batteries. -
British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand
Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There have been a few people here on this forum, who have gone back to get treatment, so they will be best to answer how it is done, from a personal point of view. I have no intention of going to the UK, for treatment myself. The government website says “To get free NHS healthcare you will need to prove that you’ve returned to the UK to live and you meet the ordinary residence test.” https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-nhs-when-you-return-to-live-in-the-uk Yes you may have to be a bit creative to find 2 of the required documents, but I know most could. As most people who are going back for treatment, would normally mean a fairly serious problem, and emergency treatment is always free, so some may have to go to hospital first. -

Praise from Emirates president on Singapore Airlines crisis management response, says it is a lesson for other airlines on how to handle incidents. .https://www.cnbc.com/2024/06/03/singapore-airlines-turbulence-was-a-lesson-to-industry-says-emirates.html -
Not defending the small bail sum, but at that time he was only facing a forgery of documents charge. When released on bail he was taken by police, firstly to Map Ta Phut Police Station to face charges of possession of dangerous substances. and a charge of violating an official order regarding such possession, as there was an outstanding arrest warrant, which is not related to the fires. After being questioned on those charges, he was bailed again and then taken to Ban Khai Police Station, which has led to his detention at Rayong Central Prison. The full police and Ministry of Industry investigation, into the fires and the operations of the factories, is on going, and there is expected to be further charges.

British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand

Really, can you please tell me how I distorted the history? I also posted a link to the House the Commons briefing paper, if that incorrect also? You accused me of discrimination, which I don’t have, then failed to back up your claims, and decided to talk about irrelevant items, like votes for women and gay men, which has zero to do with state pensions. Here is a statement from me - “I do not support frozen pensions and have never stated I do.” So please stop embarrassing yourself, by trying to speak for me. I post real facts, with credible links about the history of the state pension, but sorry I am unable to help you understand those facts. Try to read my posts, instead of putting you distorted spin on them and making clearly false assumptions, or do you just suffer alethophobia. -
On the June 2, it is reported that Police Lieutenant Colonel Witthaya Kulbun, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation), Ban Khai Police Station, brought the owner/director of the Winprocess factory to Rayong Court for a custody hearing, accused of possessing dangerous substances. A request was made for bail which was denied, and the owner was then sent to be held at Rayong Central Prison. He had initially , been arrested by police at Phachi Police Station, Ayutthaya, on charges of forgery of documents on May 29th, and was released on 20000 baht bail there, before being transferred to Ban Khai Police Station, for questioning. Further details of the previous incidents at these factories, can be found below. https://aseannow.com/topic/1325863-fire-sparks-arson-concerns-at-rayong-chemical-warehouse/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1326393-chemical-store-blaze-in-ayutthaya-triggers-evacuation-of-hospital-and-local-community/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1#google_vignette

This waste is believed to be causing chemically contaminated water to flow into the water systems around the site. -
So you choose not to read this part. “Thailand also has the 1992 International Criminal Cooperation Act as a framework for conducting international criminal cooperation between Thailand and other countries. This Act designates the Office of the Attorney General as the central coordinating agency, with the authority to consider requests for and provide criminal cooperation between Thailand and other nations. Thailand has agreements or Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) with seven countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Norway, the Republic of Korea, and the People's Republic of China.” Did you avoid that, because it does not meet your view? Below is a Thai Government issued document “Laws on international cooperation in criminal matters” https://www3.ago.go.th/center/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Eng_organized_compressed.pdf And the treaty published on the UK government website. https://treaties.fcdo.gov.uk/data/Library2/pdf/1997-TS0066.pdf

@tandor will give a more in-depth answer than me, as this was his field of work in the UK, “law enforcement and Forensic Pathology Technician”, and his knowledge is better than my previous training and interaction with the coroner and inquests. My view, is that in cases of murder or manslaughter abroad, what the family is hoping to achieve from the Coroner’s inquest is a conclusion of “Unlawful killing” , which can then sometimes trigger further action by the Police. Additionally, a Coroner’s inquest may bring to light new evidence. Yes the UK have no jurisdiction in Thailand, but that does not stop them passing on any new evidence/information and requesting that the Thai Police further investigate or re-open a case. This has happened before, with the highest profile case being when UK police joined an investigation into the murder of two backpackers on Koh Tao. https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/asia/british-police-join-thai-investigation-koh-tao-murders.html Thailand also has the 1992 International Criminal Cooperation Act as a framework for conducting international criminal cooperation between Thailand and other countries. Since 2008, there have only been 16 earthquakes in Surat Thani. Most occurred on and near the Khlong Marui Fault Zone (KMFZ), a major active strike-slip fault system. Those that even felt these 2 earthquakes described it as feeling "like a heavy truck driving by." This is not a major earthquake risk zone, with the largest ever one occurring on July 2, 2020 at 10.15, and was 4.9 on the richter scale, at a depth of 160 km, and 68 km northeast of Surat Thani. No one reported even feeling this earthquake 4 years ago, and it was only detected by earthquake monitoring station of BMKG (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency of Indonesia).
