When are Booze prices going to come down?
Robert Paulson replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My question is when will beer lao be sold without import duty prices. I mean for gods sake. It’s obviously a racket to keep people buying thai beer. Nobody would drink the stuff if beer lao was cheap and plentiful note: I’m actually glad they don’t import it under free trade I’d prob drink too much -
Those sound good. Yes. I’m often amazed because as you allude to I don’t eat things like ice cream and crazy Swenson desserts anymore, not that I don’t miss them btw, and yet I’m not missing out too much… the funny part is I think many people don’t realize is omce you stop eating crazy sweet foods the simple banana smoothie or even a glass of fresh squeezed oj almost tastes like an extravgent Swenson dessert because your tastes buds now have a lower tolerance for sweetness, or however you’d put it

Have Luke skywalker move the water vapor to the other side of the room as you walk around

What’s in your smoothies? I used to make milk based smoothies back in my man tits days. I kinda miss them so what I do now is when I have a batch of bananas going bad I freeze them and then go buy some unsweetened soy milk. Now soy milk isn’t my fav thing to be consuming to be honest but I must say the smoothies turn out quite good. Naturally sweetened with the slightly over ripe frozen bananas.

When I moved I went out to the nearest motorbike stand and asked them and right away they knew a guy. It was cheap but they weren’t extremely professional but they got the job done satisfactory., could be as simple as they, they’ll know a guy who knows a guy

Non 'O' Funds based on Salary
Robert Paulson replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sometimes when I hear these stories I swear you should justtake another number and get a different io. Although I know the same one may oversee most of what goes on so that may not work. -
It seems like a lot of folks did not even watch the debate. This has little to do with which one lied more and quite a lot to do with one of them obviously being unable to speak or put thoughts together, much less run a country. You guys did watch it, right? Did you see him get his hand held off stage and treated like a 3rd grader by his wife? Not to mention his entire presidency is a documented scam… it’s very possible even probable the hunter Biden laptop story would have swayed the election, and there is actual proof the 50 some odd signatures hand biden played was a known lie they all perpetrated.

Yeah there’s a peanut / anchovy snack at some 7-11’s I like. I really don’t like to eat stuff like that but sometimes I have to. It’s got sesame, some 🌶️ and some green flakes I don’t even know what they are but I recommend that one. And handful of thag can take you a long way in a pinch

I don’t consider nuts unhealthy. I don’t eat them often in Thailand due to cost. I just think there are better things to eat that are cheap. Som o is a big one I left out. If I find somebody is unloading a batch at a reasonable cost I always buy them. I believe it’s one of the healthiest things you can eat in Thailand and a good way to hydrate yourself, much better than water

I don’t eat cheese. I stopped eating it due to a sinus issue I had years ago. I should say dairy, not cheese. I stopped eating dairy. I was exercising a ton in the years I was eating dairy. I had man tits and a belly. Not the worst but I hated it. I dropped the dairy. My sinus issue went away and I lost a ton of weight and I seriously cannot even gain it back now if I tried. I will pm you my key to almost negative food bill in Thailand. Like seriously. I know it’s unbelievable but maybe you’ll believe it when you read it.

I really don’t know. If I figured it out you would not believe me though. I don’t buy anything like that. I’ll pm you and post some here. I buy one 5 liter olive oil every idk 6 months or so. I eat a lot of eggs. Salad stuff at makro isn’t too expensive. Just the basics. My salads are good! Simple. Red leaf lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, salt pepper, olive oil balsamic vinegar and put some fish on top. You gotta cut out all that stuff you buy from your diet. The nuts… all of it. Cheese is horrible for you. I’ll pm you my story if you really wanna know. And it’s terribly expensive. That’s why I say people are paying a high price to make themselves fat and unhealthy. For fruit I stick to bananas, mangos (rarely bc I don’t think they are good for you), lam Yai, the furry red one haha, mangosteen, watermelon. You get the idea. And I get potatoes at makro. It’s like 30 baht for a huge bag of them. I buy lentils on lazada and it’s the one thing ive learned how to cook well. You gotta sauté the onions and garlic before, haha.

That would be a lot for me

Whatever bro. I can’t even be arsed to list off the ingredients I use every month cuz you’ll just dismiss it. It can be not only cheap but Uber cheap and extremely healthy. I eat seafood idk about 4-5 times a week.

I cook every meal and don’t pay rent. I don’t have a number but it’s way below your lowest one. I eat like a king too. Go on trips twice a month. Idk, I think people are just idiots, waste money all the time and most of it is to make themselves unhealthy too, that’s the crazy part.

Land of Smiles - really?
Robert Paulson replied to ChrisThailand1977's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Try giving them a handout then and see if you’re correct lol -
Must compare thai street food with current diet. It’s all relative. I propose someone eating cheese, milk, bread, pasta, cake etc. all the crap fat foreigners eat, the Thai diet is far superior. What’s in it. Some vegetables. Some rice or noodles. Some herbs. Most of it is not processed. The oils aren’t great though.

You’re a walking atm until you prove otherwise and that’s when they either get upset or you get lucky and can still be cordial with them. -
