Yes, it would have been a lot safer had he an OBA (oxygen breathing apparatus) and a fire resistant suit. But he did have the backup of a swimming pool full of water that he could find refuge in. Jumping into the ocean is what saved a bunch of people in the Lahaina fire. I know, the fire didn't surround them while in the ocean. As a retired airline pilot he probably experienced situations that required quick thinking. Just imagine, his actions saved his and two of his neighbor's homes while everything around them burned.

I didn't continue to argue that point because I definitely am not even close to being a simpleton. I questioned your climate change assertion and sought information from other verifiable sources. In reference to "you should know," you should know it's not wise to resort to name calling and uncalled-for comments.

As a followup, and not to be a nitpicker, my original question was whether the diversion of rivers was climate change and not whether it led to climate change. A simpleton, IMO, would have continued to argue that point.

After doing a little research I see your point, especially after Kazakhstan is reporting "incredible progress" by allowing water to flow again into the Aral Sea. Supposedly, desertification has stopped and is being slowly reversed. Good news, if true. Now it seems Russia's dams on the Volga are creating similar problems with the Caspian Sea. However, I resent you labeling me a simpleton. Twenty years ago, I joined Thai Visa to learn new things, not to be ridiculed.

When it comes to red tape, Hawaii is no different. Rebuilding in Lahaina is being hindered by political manipulations of all sorts. Many frustrated victims have given up, taken their insurance money and moved away. To make matters worse, Native Hawaiian activists are making ridiculous demands. Then you have the environmental activists. The mayor of Maui County is a joke. Then you have the governor try to undo years of an acceptable practice by insurance companies' ability to file subrogation claims. Disgusting!

The FDA is complicit in all of this. The agency is really controlled by Big Pharma instead of the other way around. ONE EXAMPLE: When the original patent for Viagra expired, Pfizer got an extension because the new use was to address ED. It was first introduced to treat a specific heart condition.

Yes, very interesting. This is why no one should assume that what applies in one state is the same in another. When my mother passed away I was tasked with the job of selling the properties held in her trust.. As the successor trustee, I worked closely with my realtor with whom I had a 40 year business relationship. One of my sisters who lived in another state said I was doing it all wrong. She wasted her money on an expensive attorney who set her straight. End of story.

Sorry, PCP stands for primary care physician; they use to be referred to as the family doctor. I have a urologist but I knew he was out of town. I mentioned in a previous post that doxy worked wonderfully for me. That was 6 months ago.

I phoned my PCP about my symptoms which included nausea. He faxed the pharmacy and told me to pick it up. Directions were 100mg caps twice a day for five days. Being his patient for over 25 years we have an excellent relationship. His diagnostic skills are tops. This is my first time for doxy. I make sure I load up on probiotics after any antibiotic. Various kimchi and Greek yogurt are a staple in our house.
