  1. Until they let loose the sharia law enforcers.
  2. How's fish head soup and fried grasshoppers?
  3. Xi may see this as his golden opportunity to make his move on Southeast Asia, including Thailand. Then what? Maybe not ashes, but not a very pleasant scenario either.
  4. Maybe, just maybe, someone will take care of Putin before he resorts to such a scenario. Not everyone in his inner circle is willing to go up in a puff of smoke.
  5. Doesn't look good for Putin if what you saw on X is true. Inviting North Korean troops to augment the Russian army is a sign of desperation. Now the potential for Muslim anarchy may be the beginning of the end. Wishful thinking? We can wish, can't we?
  6. First off, it seem you have your own definition of "bilk." Yes, one might say Trump took advantage of the situation. Remember, it is the duty of the SS to protect the president no matter where he is or what he is doing. It was Trump's prerogative to play gold where he chose. About where the SS bunks, I have no idea who makes the rules. As far as Kennedy's anti-vaccine and anti-fluoride stance goes, I agree with you. I believe that both vaccines and fluoride work. There is overwhelming evidence that they do. I recall my mother having our dentist apply an awful tasting fluoride coating on our teeth. That was around 1956 or so. It is interesting to note that it is Tulsi Gabbard's father, Mike, who is co-sponsoring an anti-fluoride bill in the Hawaii legislature. He claims that is what his constituent favor. I think it has more to do with his beliefs in Guru Chris Butler's Church of Scientology. Right now only military facilities on Oahu have fluoride added to their drinking water.
  7. Experience counts a lot in job performance, especially in a supervisory position. Illegal drugs aren't any different. Some of the best substance abuse counselors are former users. One of my tenants served time for dealing. She has cleaned up act and has a job dealing with recovering addicts. She moved to another NGO and was lured back by her former employer with an offer she couldn't refuse. She has been one of my best tenants. Also please elaborate how Trump has bilked taxpayers. Seems you are willing to say anything to badmouth Trump.
  8. Have to agree. Most likely got a lot of feedback over the years to see for the most part veterans are satisfied with the VA. My neighbor, a Vietnam veteran, has nothing but praise for the VA. His chopper was shot down twice and he still has shrapnel in one of his legs. Plus he suffers from PTSD and from the effects of Agent Orange. I have Tricare For Life and have never had reason to use the VA.
  9. How true. Saving face does not equate to saving (protecting) lives.
  10. Good business practice, something the man fails to recognize.
  11. If true, not a smart move by the nominee, unless he wants to pass the position to De Santis.
  12. https://aol.com/news/hegseth-collins-push-cutting-veterans-120043807.html
  13. Being reasonably healthy and physically active, I never thought I would be needing the medical services I am receiving today, care that I could never provide on my own. Nice that you are being positive about caring for yourself, but when a medical condition make you miserable and causes nearly unbearable pain, you may not be able to care for yourself.
  14. My girlfriend and I frequently talk about people not taking care of themselves with their poor eating habits. We also agree that our tax dollars should not go to buying junk food for SNAP recipients. She has excellent, company-paid health insurance through her employer and me with Medicare and Tricare.
  15. Can Trump unilaterally cut SS and Medicare? I don't think so. Like many others, I have contributed to both, as an employer and employee. Revolutions have been started over such things.
  16. Don't know about you, but I never got ripped off from him. However, I do feel for those that did.
  17. Once you have the trust of the kids it becomes easier to motivate them into wanting to learn from you. I am not a teacher, but get along with kids because I engage them in conversation in things they are interested in. Some are surprised that I even listen to what they have to say. Don't give up. It may take awhile, but there is always some place you will fit in.
  18. Maybe this story will encourage some to donate to this great cause.
  19. Yes, people here have always offered to help. The guy with the vegetable truck even walked me back to the front door of the house on one of my bad days.
  20. Correct. That ruling came from SCOTUS.
  21. Mind if I reply? There will be more than tears falling.
  22. The amount of fluoride in well water varies from region to region. Only testing can tell you how much and testing is very expensive.
  23. $100 billion is a conservative estimate of annual Medicare fraud. Experts say it is considerably more. This alone requires some serious work. Using the sledge hammer example is a tad extreme. If you read my previous posts I am not proposing cuts. At least we agree there is a lot of work to do.
  24. Is this what you are referring to? Spending and cutting services are not the same thing. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2023/may/22/hakeem-jeffries/did-donald-trump-rack-up-more-debt-than-ant-other/
  25. U.S. hospitals, by law, are not allowed to refuse patients and this includes their emergency rooms. Because of this, quite a few patients are showing up at emergency rooms for reasons that are not real emergencies. They abuse this privilege because they don't want to bother making an appointment with their PCP and stand in line like every one else. This common practice needs to be addressed as it is causing a lot unnecessary costs. Not to discriminate, but it seems most of these abusers are the so-called needy.
