  1. A complete overhaul is in order. The reimbursements to Medicare providers are already low and yet Medicare continues to lower them. Another trick used is "provider cutback." For many doctors this is becoming unsustainable. They cannot continue in practice by being grossly underpaid. This is just one of the areas that need major surgery. (SEE MY NEXT POST)
  2. There you go again with that old cliche, "the cult." What's YOUR favorite term for Biden's ardent supporters?
  3. Seems as you were also taught how to sugar coat all of accomplishments of U.S. intelligence operations. What you fail to mention is some of the failures and blunders. "Weapons of Mass Destruction," comes to mind. And then to send Colin Powell on a disgraceful mission before the whole world to see. Yes, many terrorist plots have been uncovered, but 9/11 was a total failure; shameful that these terrorists were discovered and then the information not acted upon. Then there is the saga of Osama Bin Laden. Enough said.
  4. It's probably because there are still those who think Trump won't accomplish much and love illegals running wild and bankrupting sanctuary cities They are going to be greatly disappointed.
  5. I sense sour grapes and a sore loser . Call him whatever you want. He's gotten used to that. All the name-calling has not stopped him or even slowed him down.
  6. Most members of Congress would rather not do anything to hurt their chances of getting reelected. That includes members of both parties. I rather doubt there will be any drastic cuts anywhere.
  7. Mexico's president told Trump that there would be reciprocal tariffs which would do serious harm to the American auto industry. I don't think she was quite as blunt as you describe. One poster suggested Trump levy a tax on remittances from the U.S. to Mexico. These monies contribute 4.2%, or $61 billion to Mexico's GDP. It is interesting that Trudeau showed up at Mar-a-Lago uninvited. What conversation took place, we really don't know. Yes, China holds $749 billion of American debt, but attempting to redeem this would cause a lot of turmoil in the financial markets. It would cause a disruption in worldwide trade, including that of China's biggest customers. Guess we have to see what unfolds next.
  8. I think he has learned something from the past and despite some of his alarming statements he will not act on them. Already his threat of tariffs seems to be bringing both Canada and Mexico to the table. And have you noticed, Xi has been unusually quiet. He knows how damaging more tariffs will be to the already slowing Chinese economy. Yes, I hope I am right and you will be disappointed.
  9. Right. Now they are more than desperate and that is what makes them so dangerous.
  10. Brilliant observation? I don't think so. I guarantee some of his picks will accomplish a lot more for America than their predecessors. An especially tough job such as cleaning up the mess at our southern border and getting rid of the undocumented criminals. Tackling Iran and its proxies is another one.
  11. Seems like you are posting on the wrong forum. It's the avian virus that is causing the spike in egg prices.
  12. Before any cuts are made an honest and hard attempt to cut waste and fraud needs to be done. Trump did mention attacking fraud in the link provided.
  13. Your imagination has no limits. I think you are going to be greatly disappointed.
  14. Yes, Nikkei Asia says Yoon has backed down.
  15. Yes, this is going to get ugly.
  16. I had one bad experience with Priceline and complained to Capital One who took care of the problem. They also chewed out Priceline for not being truthful. Since then I have continued to use Priceline without any hiccups.
  17. Agree. My tenants, a lesbian couple, are excellent parents to an 8 year girl. In my frequent conversations with the girl she seems very happy and content, more so than some others I have observed with heterosexual parents.
  18. Meant to say "not able to pass a simple civics quiz."
  19. Kennedy is not just a nutter, he's dangerous.
  20. It's quite possible, or maybe just a coincidence, that Trump nominated people like Gaetz, Kennedy and Gabbard to satisfy a certain element of his supporters, knowing they would be shot down. Now that he has been elected, he really doesn't need their support, so that's probably not the reason. Anyone out there care to comment?
  21. Looks as if you have joined the ranks of the Chicken Little Gang. The sky is not falling. You of all people should know better.
  22. I knew "everyone knows that" would elicit an answer. Agree, quite a few Americans are able to pass a simple civics quiz. American History was a favorite subject of mine in high school. While quite knowledgeable I still have a lot to learn in this ever changing environment.
  23. The point I was making is comparing GDP is not necessarily telling the whole story. Government turmoil in Germany and now France can take their toll on their respective economies. China is another example with some of the statistics coming out of the country most likely doctored and not very accurate. This is where our intelligence apparatus is valuable in any analysis or comparison.
  24. May be #8 on the list, but a much larger and more diverse population than the other seven.
