You beat me to it.... I see this occurring all the time at local service/fuel station.

I have also seen Thais at service stations over-inflating their vehicle tyres. Normal setting around 40psi but they put in 75-80psi so they can carry more load. They put more air in at the start of the day (cooler) then you get a hot day the pressure increases..... Bang blow out occurs. Crazy people.

When will these idiot foreigners wake up, do not sell or push drugs in Thailand. You may get away with it once or twice but in the end you'll get caught. Penalties are severe compared to western countries. Your Thai friend will dump you in it sooner than you think, if they feel they are missing out on a slice of the pie. Trust isn't a big deal to them. The risks are great yet people think they know how to beat the system. Dumb arses.

I had one recently via Lazada. Was hunting/looking for 100% cotton gym shorts. Finally found some in western sizing. Ordered 2 pair. They arrived within 3 days. All good. Open packages and find clothing label that clearly states 100% polyester. WTF? Now I no longer buy any clothing online. Can't be trusted. You've got to eyeball the stuff before you buy.

My point being (As stated by AK above) , a foreign female married to a Thai male does not have to prove finances. Whereas a foreign male married to a Thai female does have to prove finances (400k baht) So leading on from this (in regards to same sex marriages): Foreign female married to Thai female. Proof of finance required? Foreign male married to Thai male. Proof of finance required? Treating everyone equally in Thailand? I suppose time will tell.

Well I must have been lucky as I received a multi entry non O based on retirement in Mar this year. I'll find out if its legit on my first excursion out of Thailand in a few months time. Interesting!

As Dr Jack stipulated, he will need to make an appointment for the Thai consulate in Vientiane. This can be done online. It pays to get in early (book an appointment) as they only have a certain number per day and can fill up quickly. It's a more organised system than what they had about 9 years ago. Then it was a free for all rush once the gates opened. Madness!
