  1. I think you may find quite a few 'converted' cars are already out there, so no doubt it can be done. BIL has a 2.4 camry on lpg. Nice car and smooth to drive... Just wish he'd dump the oversized muffler/exhaust system he has on it. Too bloody loud. As for economy? Well he's a bit tight so I'd say it's better than petrol ie cheaper to run. As long as you've got lpg refill stations in your area.
  2. Well it was on the cards. I'm not particularly worried. Don't break the law so what's to worry about? I'm sure there will be some additional inconveniences come extension of stay time, but that's nothing new.
  3. Generally the higher quality hotels with all these tv channels are quite good I've found. There's at least 1 or 2 channels worth watching! Not sure if the OP question is about the TV channels or the hotels. Like most have stated, crapomoulie channels for English speaking guests. Hotels themselves can have great facilities tho. Swimming pools, gym (Not that I ever use one on 'holiday') carparks and fantastic buffet breakfasts. Stayed at 'flash' hotel in Vientiane, it had 100s of tv channels. Thai or Chinese only. Tried to find something in English.... Nada. Mentioned to front of house staff, should have saved my breath.
  4. So they want more photos, in front of the house, in the lounge, in the kitchen. One post said they even want photo on the bed and another in front of house with immigration staff. WTF... what's next? in the bed? With immigration staff? Hell why not invite them all around then we could have one big party. Forget the photos, why not go for a video? Then we could stream it live Surprised? NO
  5. Close the gate.... too late the horse has bolted
  6. Try Nong Prathep metalworks Address: 501 Charoen Muang Rd, Tambon Nong Pa Khrang, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50000 Hours: Open ⋅ Closes 5 PM Phone: 053 242 649 I use to go there a lot about 5 years ago when living in Mae Rim.
  7. Agreed, doubly so if he was 'entertaining' this slapper for the night. Years ago when I was single and visited this country, the first thing on arrival back to the room was to secure passport, cash and credit/debit card into the safe. Always best safe than sorry
  8. 'A fool and his/her money' springs to mind. Good luck that you won it and all but as others have said, the trouble won't be far away. I'd be quietly moving to a new district and start life anew.
  9. Hmmm will be interesting to see what happens to this guy. Maybe he was disrespected and lost face. Natural reaction.... Fill them full of lead. Go pay homage to local monks and all is forgiven, after you flick 500 baht to any relatives. I wonder how much coverage this will be given before it's swept under the carpet.
  10. No names on the back of the cards? What were they erased by someone? Any excuse to get a sale huh?
  11. That is true, however if you don't live in the main centres the parking areas are hardly ever full. If I had a new wagon I'd probably park it well away from other cars. I know shopping trolleys still cause a lot of dents scratches etc but at least you may not have over eager brats opening a car door onto your vehicle. Those Rangers are nice but a bit over the top for me. My brother has got a 2009 Toyota landcruiser series 200. A big brute of a wagon. Way outside my pay scale at NZ$60K second hand. But at least he uses it.
  12. Now that's a culvert! Well done to the Swiss for sharing technology.
  13. Ouch that sounded painful! I was of the belief that it's a wart virus that causes them to occur. Cutting them off in your process is thereby likely to spread the virus resulting in more warts. I could be completely wrong however. I tried the salicylic acid method for a wart on my nose. It stung like hell, and I still look like a witch! One day I may try the dry ice method via a doctors surgery but I'll test the super glue method 1st. Hopefully without gluing a finger onto my nose!
  14. From what I can gather, it's similar to the Philippines. You get a divorce in your home country (with paper work to prove it) and it will be accepted in the country which you got married in. The Philippines reluctantly do this but it is accepted there. Not sure if Thailand requests a letter of no-impediment from your home country. Basically it's a letter that clears you to get married.
  15. Yes we are already getting enough backloaded from Australia.. 501s.
  16. They could be escaped convicts from Australia! Nah, just a couple of dickheads that need to do some time inside. Way to go you bloody losers.
  17. Now that indeed would be the life! Good income and something to waste it on in Thailand. Win win really.
  18. Toyota was No1 in NZ for pickup truck for years. Partially because the competition was so weak bordering on non existent. However Toyota appeared to test on their laurels and never upgraded what was bound for the NZ market. Along came Ford a few years ago with their new beaut Ranger. Farmers switched overnight to this new and comfortable pickup truck (Called a ute in NZ and Oz). Toyota has since updated what is being sent to NZ, they are still doing very well with their car fleet but it will take some time to regain their foothold on utes.
  19. Ahhh I can answer my own question thanks to Mr Google. Formerly known as Coon cheese (Or Tasty in Australia). From 2021 the name was changed to Cheer cheese.
  20. Didn't they try and change the name of that cheese a few years back? The indigenous locals got a tad upset over the name or something.
  21. Wasn't it in the news lately about some government department claiming back Sor Kor land that was never supposed to be given out? People staying/living on it were going to be in for a big shock. Land was to revert to forest park.
  22. I've tried the Allowrie cheese and frankly it's nothing to write home about. The processed slides I find the worst however lots of locals use it for cheeseburgers. But then most of those 'fake or plastic' cheese slices are terrible. Their butter isn't much better unfortunately. Emborg I find is a good brand.
