  1. Very good list of where to go in Chiang Mai. I remember Dao Cheeso and their cheese was OK for a locally produced product. They had a smoked cheddar that was particularly nice on a burger. Cheers for the heads up
  2. The sky is the limit when it comes to mod'ding computers. My youngest son is right into it and is now employed by a computer manufacturer in NZ. Small but high end stuff, bit of a niche market really. Imbi towers in KL was a great place to shop for the latest parts. I use to go there quite a bit when working in the ME during my transit back to NZ. Nowadays I just stick to a mini system. Nothing flash but it works.
  3. Too late! There are a few varieties of the Mainland cheese here now. Vintage is the strongest cheddar followed by Tasty. Noble has a nutty flavour whereas Edam is tasteless (IMO). Like everyone has said, good cheese ain't cheap. The Mainland cheese is dearer here than NZ but not by much. In NZ a 1kg block of Tasty is around NZ$18-24 or 395-524 baht so 265 baht for 500gm of Vintage at Makro is pretty good value. They are great cheeses for toppings to. Either grated or melted on top. Damn I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Off to Makro now...
  4. Your friend should stay out of Thailand for the sake of remaining falangs. We don't need his type here causing more trouble. He was found guilty and served 4 months jail... It should have been longer. No sympathy for the basher.
  5. I fail to see the point of the OP.
  6. Aren't these kids taught anything by their parents? Besides don't talk to strangers, how about don't take videos of yourself that you don't want on social media. Basic stuff in which to protect yourself from these jerks that keep appearing in news headlines. I'm aware it's what young people are doing these days, apparently it's to show that they trust each other and want to stay together! Duh!
  7. I tend to agree with your post. I've seen it in several countries. These so called refugees that have somehow studied a countries welfare system and know damn well how to use/abuse it to their advantage. Most genuine refugees don't have the money/education to know any of that let alone money to afford transportation to get out of their country. In NZ a few years ago we had one of these so called refugees try and hijack a regional plane and take it overseas. The pilot suffered cuts to his hands fending off the crazy biatch. She was from Somalia, consequently spent a bit of time in jail.
  8. No I'm a Kiwi. And the word that was deleted is a slang term for people from the Mediterranean region that now live in Australia. Clue: sounds like dogs
  9. Maybe put this into their SOPs as well:
  10. The daughter asked why the attackers did take him on as one on one? Simple, cause they are chicken shiits . A bit like the <deleted> in Aussie. As a group/gang they will attack but man to man they are as weak as piss. Basically they are scum.
  11. There is the beginnings of a backlash in many countries already. Chinese taxi companies that put big dollars into a complete overhaul are finding no resale in used EVs. Power prices are rising and some countries are introducing road user charges for EVs. So all is not as some people paint it. Battery replacement is also another big cost. 7 years life on 1st Gen EVs. I feel for those poor suckers. I think in the future EVs will take over, but not at this moment. Too many unknowns
  12. What ever.... that's your perception.
  13. Which Hillside is that? I lived in HS4 for a while. Good days they were.
  14. What I'd give to get a decent dark Jamaican rum here. Tried the Captain Morgan Gold from 7-11 a few days ago. Bitch piss. Totally weak and only good for ladies drinks however brother in law enjoyed it. Might have to go online and get some Myers Dark Rum from Bangkok. That least has got taste.
  15. And respect for the 'little' guy as well.
  16. Right that does it, big Leo here I come. Might have to pop down to Lotus's soon and get a bottle of Sang Som for a chaser. Beaut day for it in Korat. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
  17. Damn I wish Air Asia was so lenient. We had a trip from Vientiane to Bangkok and they weighed everything. No combining of baggage allowance was allowed. One bag was 2kg over and another was 3kg under. They wanted to charge (like a wounded bull) on the bag that was over. A quick reallocation between bags and they were reluctantly happy. Same applied to carry on. Once thru immigration we reset out carry on as to how it was previously. Pedantic to the max.
  18. Well, these people deserve each other. What more can you say?
  19. Sorry but I had a bit of a laugh at your post... I miss-read the last sentence. I thought the dog came over and had a dump on you... Just my warped mind!
  20. I don't mind the increase, as long as their meter works!
  21. Time and place gents... Probably wrong on both counts
  22. Where the heck is the proof that it was a German that hit this kid? Surely cctv or something to even suggest that. Which would/could lead to finding damage on the vehicle that hit him. Basic stuff really..
