  1. Have a read of this... https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly650vk317o 🤐😪
  2. Yeah, and no crazy comments. So far. So great to see a happy story.
  3. Totally agree. Never had an issue, only met normal decent people, with the odd crazy. Just like visiting any country in the world. The hardest work I have is being asked to be in so many family photos as most people find it so unusual to meet a foreigner.
  4. This seems a stupid drunken post. I'm sure you've been there to make such an assertion, so if there's any truth to it you can post it with evidence to this forum so that others can learn for your experience. I'm sure we can forward this evidence to the relevant authorities so that they can take action. You'll perhaps be surprised to know that those relevant authorities are the Chinese Government as they won't want anything to put off potential visitors to their country as the Government gets significant revenue from tourism. You should also know that if you make such statements about Thailand then you may have broken the Thai National Security Law.
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 70/100 My Time 111 seconds
  6. From Google. For more details go to the web site indicated in the screen capture.
  7. Looks like Clive Myrie has been honest, telling the BC that he's done moonlighting that's allowed in his contract. Seems just a screw up by the BBC in not transferring that honesty to the Register. So, as Clive seems honest, I'd suspect he'd declare all his income on his Tax Return. I don't know for sure of course, but I can't see anything in this article that leads me to believe he wouldn't be honest.
  8. Don't agree, but maybe GB News should be funded for balance?
  9. Take a look at this article. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0m0v99pd3vo I know there is the Lese Majeste Law in Thailand, and I would never want to do or say something to break that. And stuff about giving bad Google reviews. But does this conviction and sentence seem proportionate to those of you who understand Thai Law and how it’s applied?
  10. Possibly both. In the UK the RNLI often has to recover stranded tourists from their own misadventure. The RNLI calls this a rescue rather than ferrying. Here's an example: https://www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/news/24405972.tenby-rnli-rescue-stranded-tourists-caldey-island/
  11. TIT. The acronym, not a personal insult Gottfrid 😜
  12. Did the article mistakenly omit the leading figures "3" & "0"?
  13. Hong Kong (part of China, but generally different laws that are based on English law) ranks at 14, same as Oz. But having such a good rank doesn't stop corruption, there's still plenty e.g. an employee having to pay to get a job or tender rigging. I've seen evidence of both. I've done business in some of the countries that rank worse than Thailand, and I totally have seen why they are worse than Thailand, from immigration scamming a more expensive visa fee than needed through to a senior Government official not doing something that would benefit their country's GDP as they'd make no money from it. Crazy.
  14. An Indian metal band has nailed most world politics!
  15. This first link is. Reading is just to the west of London. The 2nd link isn’t the UK.
  16. I hope no journalist approaches him to ask about this. They are likely to get punched!
  17. Was the nurse called Lucy Letby?
  18. I've got to admit that I'd never heard of such a competition before. Is it my bad, or not enough media coverage of such events? It doesn't matter.. For anyone to win a Gold Medal at a world-level event deserves some respect and praise. No matter what the event. Well done Ariyaporn!!
  19. Happens all over the world. Here's a story from the UK a few days ago - https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/news/24583008.pictures-cars-damaged-lorry-hits-central-reading-railway-bridge/ And here's 15 minutes of craziness -
  20. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 175 seconds
  21. The story isn't about speeding or anything like that, it's about the behaviour of taxi drivers to their potential customers.
  22. Imported from Springfield, Ohio.
  23. I didn’t notice the announcement of a properly funded and supported Independent Commission Against Corruption. Did I miss it? Here’s a link to a similar organisation elsewhere that was set up due to rampant corruption in the past. It hasn’t stopped 100% of it but it is properly supported to have zero tolerance. https://www.icac.org.hk/en/home/index.html Even someone who offered a driving examiner a cake to try to influence a driving test got convicted. Of course, it may not be required in Thailand.
  24. The Hong Kong Government got fed up with the behaviour of HK taxi drivers, so here’s what they did about it: a penalty points-based system that could lead to fines, bans and imprisonment. https://www.thestandard.com.hk/breaking-news/section/4/220433/Taxi-drivers-face-3-month-suspension-for-poor-service-as-offense-points-mechanism-takes-effect Reckon it’d work here in Thailand? Or not even get off the ground…
  25. Seems that both Harris & Trump lied during the debate - https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgjv3gdxv7go. If this article is true of course...
