  1. A new immigration test question could be to ask for the correct spelling of Israel? Answers to be spray-painted on a wall...
  2. Fantastic marketing by the film producers. Such a good idea to play up to the world's woke stupidity. They probably predicted some idiots would latch onto it, and those idiots took the bait hook line and sinker. Well done!
  3. I'll let others comment on the maths, and how much these charities might actually get.
  4. I personally agree, but I'm confused how this squares away with the right to free speech under the Amendment. But, common sense tells me that he's deeply guilty of what he's been accused of and should get no leniency. Unlike other Federal Law breakers recently in the News.

I went there earlier this year, it's a fantastic park. Thanks for sharing, hopefully others can enjoy too. After that, I walked down to Srinagarindra Train Night Market, one of the better night markets I've been to.
  6. Great news for the local economy and for all the athletes who'll participate. I'm sure there'll be some downsides but I'd rather not concentrate on them.
  7. Let's hope the affected passengers get properly compensated and Cathay investigate and learn lessons.
  8. Much as it pains me, he has served his full sentence. If he has committed another crime then try him and send him back if guilty. This time for long enough so that it's the Parole Service who decide his release or not; they seem far better to judge the risk to society than the rest of the criminal justice system.
  9. Maybe farmers will have to sell their land to the Government to pay for the inheritance tax.
  10. If she's proven to have broken the law then she deserves the appropriate legal sanction. Same goes for anyone, whoever they are or whatever position they hold.
  11. There's so much negativity from some commentators, too many sad news stories and too much Thai or Farang bashing (even though sometimes justified it must be said). So it's great to see a good news story for the image Thailand. Hope it happens more often.
  12. Or was it a fraction of a foot? 🤐🤭
  13. Clarkson's Farm is a great insight into farming issues. Supermarkets don't always pay a fair price for goods. If they did supermarket prices may increase, hitting the poorest people in society and increase inflation. That inflation increase could impact businesses through increased wage demands or other costs. AKA, people on both the left and right could be impacted, I don't have a solution by the way! Not sure the status quo is correct though. Not sure what Labour has done is correct either. Classic political dilemma.
  14. Would Hammas listen to the normal human beings seeking to live their lives in peace so they can raise their children in safety and prosperity?
  15. Such a complex case. Except, of course, for the fact that he was never guilty of murder.
  16. Rubbish. Look at the polls. "The Conservatives hold a 19-point lead over the Liberals". https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/ Even Kamala couldn't screw that lead up.
  17. Ooh! Maybe that's why the judges chose Thailand? After intensive cultural research? Great that this news story has a happy ending.
  18. @James105 - totally agree. But... In the latest figures I can see, Sainsburys made a profit of over £500m in a 28-week period. These leeches can well afford this extra tax without passing it on. Disgusting corporate greed. https://www.about.sainsburys.co.uk/news/latest-news/2024/07-11-24-interim-results-for-the-28-weeks-ended-14-september-2024 I'm no labour supporter, but I hope Labour keep an eye on this and put a windfall tax on Sainsburys if Sainsburys cheat their customers using this NI increase as an excuse to fleece their customers in the same way they've done since the pandemic. Or, increase the tax burden on the Sainsburys Board members so that they earn absolutely nothing.
  19. By my rough calculation, if this investment maintains a 6.1% growth then they'll earn an extra 500 million this coming year, over an above what they've earned in the past year (8.2 billion). A pretty good RoI if it works. Good luck to them!
