Alert. Received a visit from the Local police because I am American.
Irianians didnt send their military to fight and kill in another nation like the Americans did. You need to read a history book or two.

Let’s Be Honest... Just Between Me & You
It's a good question. I think that's what brought me to thialand over the years. But when I finally retired we choose thailand for location, cost, (secondary) weather and food. I brought my foreign wife with me so local ladies out of the question. I don't even flirt with them unless they really old or ugly!!

Discriminatory Farang Entry Fees to National Park
Oh no not this topic again, get over it! . Foreigners pay more to visit some attractions in the nationals home country. If you don't like it don't go. And who gives a <deleted> if they could attract more people. Most attractions should have less visitors not more to keep it better condition.

There is AML checks. So it might depend on the volume of transfers being done. Or sometimes transfers are flagged for a random check which could add the day(ish).

Drawdown pensions from UK
I think an issue might be on the tax side (as it's a drawdown and not a pension payment) . Almost, No one files but in theory anyone here for 6m or more needs to file a tax return. Most likely it will be tax exempt but still have to fill and it might be a problem from a drawdown to prove its tax free. Saying that, I wouldn't worry about it as no one files taxes and if they do catch up with you the fine is less than the cost to file (using an agent)

LTR VISA - BOI requested me "Evidence of all your payments"
What rubbish. If you qualify and have proper documents it's easy! Did mine in about 4 weeks. Dealing with BOI was a pleasure complained to immigration. FYI. If it's a "scam" why they make you pay after you approved! How you wasted money is up to you! As that's not how ltr process works All the best in Vietnam!

Pattaya BKK hospital charges
Don't make this a race thing, (its a Thai vs non Thai thing, big difference). Obviously foreigners have more money and can afford it compared to locals. It's a local attraction or hospital or whatever, to allow locals to attend, the price needs to be lower. Have a Thai walk into a hospital in London NY Paris etc and see if they pay the same. Also, it's Nothing different than what Disney does at their parks!! Im happy with 2 tier pricing, hate the whiners.

Long Term Residence (LTR) Visa
I'm not sure I'd agree with your assumptions of what may or may not happen. I see you you don't have an LTR so I guess you really don't know. I have one and it's fantastic. All overseas income tax free Use fast lane at entry No 90 day reporting Easy to get dependants added on And NO you do NOT have to have insurance they have pre approved. I have global insurance I got from my home country. I showed that and it was approved (or never even questioned) I got the LTR (WP) last year. Normally it's very easy The tip or trick is if you have a proper tax return from your home country showing you have the required income. ( I used my Thai Condo in my name as an asset. Which they took the purchase price regardless of what you think it's worth) I didn't have a tax return on my income as my passive income (capital gains and dividends) is not Taxable for me which made it slightly more difficult, but BOI was good about it. I think the avg time is 8 to 10 weeks but I guess that depends on the applicant and the workload. I must say working with BOI vs immigration is a joy! I have AIA worldwide mwdical insurance. But again what you get will depend on where you get it. I got it in my home country before applying. For me one of the best parts of the visa is that all overseas income is non taxable. So you can sleep at night, and not worry what they may or may not tax this or that... .

Would you pay 500bt for Breakfast?
Its 500baht is not exactly next months rent! But if you looking for a treat once a month it's a great BF. So instead of a gun at your head you rather eat breakfast with rats at your feet harhar. And get that for 99baht.... We all make our own choices, fair enough.
