Different 100 bahts note
Max_Headroom replied to Aforek's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Thanks. I've heard of it or rather seen it online in searches I've made. Do you know if the guy that owns this is Australian? I might have met him ten years back. -
Just a scam. Last year I tried to sell a pair of new Persol sunglasses. Only people contacting me were scammers

Specimen takes it to next level. Did you get them from the mint or bank out of curiosity? -

When I tried to collect Thai notes everyone knew what they had. I don't have a single Thai note. -
76% motorcycles Quite a few foreign DEATHS - about All sorts of idiot teachers in BKK and tiktokers just have to have the convenience (and unnecessary cost) of a scooter. *Teaching* that business English in bang na is 'profitable' until you injure yourself OR someone injures you. Well, it was a good idea at the time 555 Thai government could easily ban rentals to farang and save themselves from themselves. As for anyone living upcountry and it's complications - I won't be contributing to your GoFundMe.

I doubt these will be worth anything but unc + sequential numbers a plus. Are you a collector? -

For those thinking they might be sitting on a lottery win. For a banknote to be worth anything it must be as uncirculated - pristine condition without crease, fold or even dog eared corner. Notes still might have value based on the sheer rarity and demand. There is currently no up to date cataloging prices. Thai currency always had high collectable value and prices never aligned with reality. I understand prices have dropped in recent years due to market quantity and lack of demand. -

Do you collect any other notes? I assembled a collection while backpacking in 90s. India (Burma), Lao, Cambodia, Vietnam and some random. Years basically 193X to very early 1980s. -

Why Californians are leaving
Max_Headroom replied to GypsyT's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Not necessarily. The ones leaving didn't vote for the past decades. Southern and Northern CA was a time they were so politically different that we often thought of splitting the state in two or even more pieces. OC was pretty conservation socially, fiscally. Even pockets of LA county. . Prop 13 😊 -

There will always be Koreans, Chinese, Indians, Persians, ...ians from overseas to fill the void. All escaping home countries. My friend has some Mc tracthouse in So OC. Crap build, needs proper renovation - 1.1M. Could sell it tomorrow. -
Got it. I know the answer is somewhere on the internet but since I have your attention... I recall reading something about when you start deducting money from your IRA that it needs to be withdrawn on consistent basis and I believe that also might mean more or less regular, consistent amounts. So, do I look at my IRA and figure out how much I want to basically withdraw annually until it's depleted? Or, is it up to me what I withdrawal annually?

Thai SSO Yellow Book
Max_Headroom replied to Max_Headroom's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My wife called the amphor. Anecdotally they will not allow my name to be placed in owners hb (in a yellow book) bc it's for fam, relatives. My wife's parents have a home in Pathum Thani (rent BKK). Amphor suggested I get on that and provide some excuse of coming and going often. Parents actually rent this place out* The amphor also mentioned that we would also need to get certified statement of ?? my legal name at embassy and then have it translated to Thai. Pretty ridiculous after freedom to marry affidavit, marriage license, five wp, Teachers license, five year drs lic exp. But - whatever 😜😭 THEN need to bring it to CW for ??? A few weeks back I tried to get a certificate of residence to prove my address for SSO and immigration blah blah blah. So, I need to pay two people and wife a day off work + (3) to go out to Pathum Thani and with just one no... All that time, money wasted. The solution was ... Buy a condo. This is so wrong. -
Cost of Living Comparison ... Worldwide & Regional

I'd read somewhere that best looking Japanese women live in Fukuoka. I'd always enjoyed Kyoto, Tokyo and even Osaka but I think it would be kinda lonely/ isolated. I'm not someone that's prone to feelings of loneliness. Rents seem reasonable outside the key money and addl deposits which are non starter for me -
$22.00 Burrito in SF now, the world has gone mad.
Max_Headroom replied to EVENKEEL's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Was back in March. Paid ten dollars for a proper burrito (a la carte, take away) in South Orange County California. It was a yuppie carneceria. Imagine a proper one maybe eight. I bet they were half twenty years ago -
Is it possible to go to Manila and sort out social security in person? My intention is to get it done faster, more efficiently and no email. I'd contacted them years ago and they told me to send some information that should be secured via email. Can this process be done via fax? I could set up fax on PC but have no number to receive fax. Maybe android app? I've not looked. Thank you 🙏

Why Californians are leaving

Seems like South Orange County, California is in this weird animated state (perhaps like FL) where no one has any real history there. Between the il/legal immigrants, the transplants and all the internal movement. It was a very weird thing - like returning home from an insanely long holiday and finding total strangers in your home. I don't see how most will retire as if nothing else taxes so high and only set to go higher.
