I just binged Broadchurch ( with David Tennant and Olivia Coleman ). Not sure why i skipped this ( probably thought it was a Downton Abbey type of thing ) but it was excellent. Just started The Fall , Gillian Anderson of X-files fame stars as a promiscuous detective. Realised i had seen it before, when she got her kit off !, but am going to watch again as it gets good reviews and i can’t remember much more about it .

Many years ago. I had checked in, and was airside, for a flight from Jeddah to Heathrow when the flight was cancelled and an estimated 12 hours delay was announced. We were given the option to surrender our passport so we could return to Jeddah to spend the night in a nice hotel or spend 12 hours at the gate on those plastic chairs. Lots of opposition to handing over their passports but in the end around 50% took the hotel option. Seemed like a good decision and while there were a lot of angry voices about handing over their passport they were given a choice.

Yup, have had home visits on retirement extensions, seems like it was a thing 3 or 4 years ago, but recently haven’t had any, thankfully.

I used Thai drivers license for proof of address earlier this year at BKK VFS.

Yeah, plenty of these on Lazada, Shoppee etc ( used to be, not sure if still have) usually sell for ridiculously low prices Usual scenario is they will show the correct amount of space and appear to work fine initially, then the files will start to overwrite and everything becomes corrupted. Best to bin them I would say .

My bank didn’t require anything from True, they already had my current phone number and were only interested in my new passport. Why would True want to change my sim yet retain the same number ?, i use an eSIM, seems like they are making work for themselves ? But then again, i was surprised when the bank changed my bank book for the passport number change ? But, i also found out that the bank uses a phone number for your account but you can have a different number linked to your bank card ! for a few years I was using the Lazada 1 year sims and changing the number at the ATM thinking it would change the number linked to my account also but no ! Something cropped up and i had to visit my bank branch to change the number linked to my account to my current number, strangely though they asked for no verification i only told them the number !! Both the bank system and mobile operator seem to place confusing systems in place but neither increase security?

I got a new passport a few months ago, went to immigration to transfer the stamps. With a retirement extension looming i went to the bank to change passport number also ( figured it might feature on the 12 month extension or the annual bank letter ) . They gave me a new bank book and expired the old one which only had a couple of transactions in it. Rolled up at immigration with 3 bank books and a bunch of photocopies expecting them to be annoyed but I swear they were happy, as if they enjoy all the paperwork !! 😀 Good advice about the mobile operator though, don’t see any where on the True iService app so will give them a visit .

Yeah, I don’t think there’s any difference between Score/Check/Rating etc, just wanted to clarify, and yes as a NatWest customer I can access my credit score. What is annoying is the different scales used in the U.K.. But I guess if wanting to rent in the U.K. then a simple pulling up your credit score from your banking app should give you the yes/no answer. Apparently being on the Electoral Register can improve your credit rating, who knew ? Apologies for drifting off topic, but the ability to see your credit score within seconds from your banking app can surely help if required.

Only one a week and for the winter season only so far. The route, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, will be the first direct air link between the northern UK city and the Thai capital. Flight ZO891 will depart Manchester ( Wednesday ) at 23:30 and arrive in Bangkok at 18:00 the following day. The return flight, ZO892, will leave Bangkok at 20:00 and land in Manchester at 02:15 on Friday.

I think it is a bargain, the car itself looks good, a little basic inside but the price is excellent. Best case scenario : you get many years cheap driving from it. Worst case scenario: some serious electrical failure occurs and you struggle to find anyone to fix it. But personally I think it is well worth taking the risk. Maybe some 3rd party support will be offered ( as in the case of Chevrolet ). Any major or necessary updates will have already been issued so any future updates would likely have been minor. If I was in the market for a cheap EV to use locally then I would have considered it also.

It will be interesting to see what they are going to implement in this 3 hours downtime. If they do include a reservation/booking option maybe it will be time limited, i.e. max charging of 45 minutes, or up to 80% which has been discussed before . In the case of time limit you will know how long you have to wait before your turn and you could possibly see the queue time on the app ? Could be remote booking like PTT reserved charging schedule but that was always a little contentious, or you have to turn up and scan your phone to put yourself in the queue which would be preferable in my opinion.

The Rêversharger app will be down tomorrow morning and, if I am reading this correctly, so will free charging .

The big box stores should all stock them or Mr DIY. They will generally come in a set of “ bits” or the Allen Key type and come in various sizes. Check the fitting you are using it on as some are security type and have the added hole on the tool.
