Costs of a UK will using a solicitor vary enormously depending upon the solicitor concerned and the complexity of the estate. A rough figure might be between GBP 500 and GBP 1,000. As for your Thai estate, you would be intestate. I believe that stepchildren are not on the list of statutory heirs. Your wife (assuming you have a legal marriage, not a village or temple one) would inherit your Thai estate. However, better to make a separate will covering your Thai assets to make things absolutely clear.

Au contraire. Have you never heard of being "egg bound"?

What is up with tattoos and tourists / expats here?
Zaphod Priest replied to Maxbkkcm's topic in General Topics
Long gone are the days when only sailors and prostitutes in the UK had tattoos. Either that, or there are a hell of a lot more sailors and prostitutes than I ever thought possible. -
Just a suggestion, but if the tags are useful (which, personally, I doubt), why not move them to after the topic titles? That would alleviate the problem.

The new "tags" in the News forum are unhelpful. Previously one could scan down the list of topics. Now one's eyes have to dart left and right to accommodate the varying length of the tags. It slows down reading and reduces comprehension.

You're far to mealy-mouthed with your words. He's not a "sex pest", he's a rapist. He's not a "cheater" but an adulterer (many times over). And to be honest, I'm not sure he's a "shameless liar". Definitely shameless, but does he even know that the garbage he spouts is actually lies? I suspect he lacks the self awareness to know.

Bow your head with great respect

Nope. They did it because God in his infinite wisdom commanded it. No need for logic. "The pig is also unclean; although it has a divided hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses." Deuteronomy 14:8 "For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised" Genesis 17:12 -
Given the recent death of the supreme pontiff I thought it might be appropriate to post a link to a video that helps explain the true, profound nature of Roman Catholicism.

Report Staggering 80% of Thai Army Conscripts Battling Drug Addiction

A common misbelief. Is This Going to Happen
Zaphod Priest replied to baansgr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In the past these sorts of changes have been grandfathered. Probably nothing to worry about for people already with a visa, even if these rumours are true.- 81 replies

At 224 lb and height of 6'3" he's a fine specimen of humanity. Plus he can ace an incredibly challenging cognitive ability test. He'll be around for a while yet. Let's hope he lives long enough to find himself behind bars. That said, the moment he finds himself in a courtroom he'll undoubtedly suddenly develop the need for a wheelchair and claim dementia.

My attempt to pay voluntary NI contributions hasn't gone smoothly. Last October I 'phoned the Future Pension Centre. They checked my record and told me to complete the online form "Apply to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions when abroad", which I did. I then checked when I could expect to receive a reply, and discovered it would be in January. In March I submitted a complaint saying that I hadn't received a response. After a bit of toing and froing I got details of the bank account through which I would pay and told to give my NI number and name as the reference - no PIN number. Now they've got my money, how are they going to know which years to allocate it to? And how should the process have worked? Any thoughts? Thanks
