  1. I had a tyre wrecked by a huge pot hole on the on slip road on the M25 at Junction 19. That is the long one on the old M25 carriageway from Hunton Bridge so it is 60 mph slip road. I use to commute to Gatwick Airport and the was a bloody pot hole in the fast lane after Junction 9 going clockwise. Caught me out a couple of times but learnt where is was in always moved to an inner lane so never hit it doing 70. Some pretty horrendous pot holes on A roads and even motorways. At least on B roads and lanes you are not going at high speed when you hit them if you didn't see them.
  2. News reports I read in the UK suggest Cambodia is going to lose the propaganda war on this one with the World likely to be on Thailand's side. I have to admit given the history on this my sympathies lie with Thailand and I understand their genuine grievance. Even putting to one side the shooting appears to have started by Cambodia.
  3. hmmmm let't think. Which current dispute filling the news is going on to divert attention from an unpopular leader?
  4. May be in Thailand but are you from the UK? Most punctures in the UK are due to massive pot holes that usually total wrecks the tyre. I have never had a car with run flats but can they fix a gash in the side wall? I have had two tyres totally wrecked by pot holes. Fortunately I ent to the trouble of getting a full size spare.. It was worth it to be up and running in minutes not waiting forever at risk on the roadside waiting for recovery.
  5. Not as good as as the RAF. Beat that https://www.aircrew-saltire.org/lib135.html
  6. Out of interest what does the Cambodian media say. "You have to see both sides of the story..." Yes Peal Harbour, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway.
  7. Wow. And Britain gets criticised because we have a Bridge and station called Waterloo. But Austerlitz station is OK.
  8. From the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg5gz03d8no "Cambodia, for its part, accused Thailand of using cluster munitions. Cluster munitions are banned in much of the world because of their indiscriminate effect on civilian populations." Says the country using Land mines.
  9. But when it does happen. I always drive second hand cars. I now notice ten year old cars in the UK don't have a spare at all and they are not run flats. What is the effing use of that, except to save money. At least in Thailand I assume calling recovery is not expensive.
  10. Can somebody explain to this moron which Chancellor of the Exchequer abolished the tax relief that pension companies got from tax on dividends. At the time there was uproar because it reduced the size of people's pension pot. Now labour is saying people aren't saving enough. We told you so. The initials of the C of the E are GB.
  11. I have always thought when I retire to Thailand and if I came into some money I would buy a BMW but run flat tyres alone puts me right off. A space saver was bad enough.
  12. I don't know this case. So it has been reported that evidence was suppressed?
  13. Wouldn't there be some evidence that would stick?
  14. Bloody hell 10% a year wouldn't be bad. 10% a month!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Not necassarily Stainless steel UTS 500-700 MPa 72,500-101500 psi Medium carbon steel UTS 600-800 MPa 87020 -116030 psi The medium carbon steel is stronger than the stainless steel. Even in the West there is stainless and stainless. I dread to think what the Thai spec for stainless steel is?
  16. I thought the prisons were full of people saying hurty words.
  17. I am like you. Need to see some green through out the year. Not semi desert for half the year.
  18. Did you notice that before the Rwanda scheme was abandoned and illegals were hopping across the boarder to Eire. The Irish simply sent them back to the UK. Why didn't Britain adopt France's approach, your problem now Ireland.
  19. Exactly, the first safe county is the one where they should claim asylum. Although I would question that France if the first safe country they they reached. Any EU country should be as safe as the next one. Which countries did the go through to get to France?
  20. I suppose they could start by kicking pensioners out of there homes. Pensioners don't need 3 or 4 bedroom houses and Labour hates pensioners. There are droughts in the UK now due to under investment storage and losses due to leaks in the system. There was an article on the BBC today asking why do we need more reservoirs. How about the population growing by 8 million every decade just through legal migration. Next it will be shortage of housing. The NHS can't cope, unemployment is rising etc etc. Regarding the Afghans, we were there supporting the US. How many are the US taking? There were 19,000 Afghans supporting the UK but at its peak 10,000 UK troops. So for every UK military person there were two Afghans, doing what exactly?
  21. Yes close on a million pounds. In the UK the only way an average person can do that is to sell up property. But when ever I see crypto currency I think scam. Why do these people get sucked it.
  22. So that is what we pay the French three quarters of a billion pounds a year for.
  23. Just what the UK needs high caliber skilled migrants. We can't get enough of them can we.
  24. And of course p1ss is corrosive so God knows what damage leaking p1ss is doing to the air frame. Fortunately I was forward of the toilets. I think the approach glide path is 11 degrees so the p1ss trail never made it to my row. I dread to think what it was like at like at the back of the plane when it took off again for the UK. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/7/16/uk-lifts-restrictions-on-pakistan-airlines-after-five-year-ban Not just the UK but the EU as well. I find this an odd statement "The lifting of the ban on Pakistani flights by the UK is a source of relief for Pakistanis residing in Britain" Why a relief, I assume there were many other airlines from from the UK to Pakistan, Qatar for one. "Asif also said he attributed the ban to what he described as “baseless” remarks made by former Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan." He would say they were baseless wouldn't he. "The Ban: In 2020, the UK imposed a ban on Pakistani airlines, including PIA, due to safety concerns following an investigation into pilot licenses and a fatal plane crash in Karachi." Yes I remember now, they had some dodgy pilots. Let's hope that they are certified to fly some ting bigger than a Cessna. "The other major aviation safety incident came later in 2020. It was the crash of Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303, in May. There were 98 fatalities from this accident, one of which was a person on the ground. The incident had further repercussions, including a fake license scandal and the blacklisting of PIA by EASA" Proper pilots now I suppose.
