  1. 21 weeks to charge them with all the evidence that they needed available with in a few hours.
  2. 100% correct. There was no end of internet chat, not just the public, but legal blogs as well saying why was this taking so long. The assaults took place on the 23 July 2024. They were not charged until the 20 Dec 2024, 5 months to bring charges. It must have taken a couple of hours to gather up the cctv footage and the body cam footage. So what took 21 weeks to decide yes a member of the public was violently assaulted, the culprits resisted arrest and violently assaulted the police. Hurty words are investigated, charged, taken to court and banged up in a fraction of that time. That actually takes a bit of detective work to determine who said the hurty words.
  3. It is Armed Forces Day for God's sake. What the hell has Children's Day in Thailand got to do with it. So you celebrate Armed Forces day but you can't have any vehicles on display.
  4. at 00:18 the one in blue lands a kick on the police. At 00:21 he lays the first police woman out on the ground then at 00:23 lays out the second police woman. Some self defence.
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g8e29jdrpo Well this looks like to body cam footage that apparently wasn't recorded because the body cams were off. Apparently not. Does look like a kick to the head to me but then I suppose it has to be seen in the context of the violence towards the police and the completely innocent member of the public. Look also like the mother was having a go.
  6. Sorry I thought it was said that he had. "Controversies Anwar made controversial statements in the aftermath of the 2007 Glasgow International Airport attack, in which he claimed "[t]hat there is no difference between a stealth bomber and a suicide bomber, the effects are still the same." In further remarks, he argued that there was a moral equivalence between the 9/11 hijackers and the United States when they bomb innocent civilians. On 9 January 2008, Sheriff Charlotte Coutts described Anwar's evidence as "not credible" during a trial in which he claimed to be the victim of racial abuse. In 2008, he faced allegations of contempt of court in light of a complaint by the presiding judge in the case, Colin Sutherland, after Anwar directly attacked the jury following the trial and conviction of Mohammed Siddique in the High Court of Justiciary. Sutherland accused Anwar of making unprofessional, defamatory, and factually inaccurate attacks on the judiciary, the jury, and the wider legal process, stating that Anwar was "hiding behind the cloak of his client" to make politically motivated attacks on anti-terrorism legislation. Anwar was the first lawyer in the UK to be put on trial for contempt of court for comments he made on behalf of his client at the end of a trial. Iain Banks joined Labour politician Tony Benn, George Galloway, Bashir Maan, Gareth Peirce, and others to argue that such a prosecution was detrimental to free speech. While finding Anwar's comments to be "misleading", Kenneth Osborne did not find him in contempt of court, but strongly criticised Anwar's behaviour, stating that statements from the lawyer were politically motivated and largely consisted of "angry and petulant criticism". Following a full investigation by Law Scotland, Anwar was cleared of all charges of misconduct. In January 2010, he was successful in having one of Siddique's convictions overturned at the Court of Appeal; as a result Siddique was freed from prison but remains a convicted terrorist.
  7. Well their lawyer is an expert on deportation cases but he did a pretty <deleted> job for Shamima Begum.
  8. The mother spotted him in Starbucks the one of the sons viciously attacked him totally unprovoked. They were then tracked to the car park.
  9. Didn't do a very good job for Shamima Begum but did well out of all the legal aid no doubt.
  10. Or the vicious head butting and punching a completely innocent member of the public in Starbucks.
  11. Yes I saw that Aamer Anwar was the defending barrister. It will be interesting to see what their defence is. The two brothers were there to meet their mother off of a flight from Qatar. Something had gone on on the flight and the other person was spotted in Starbucks so one of the brothers went up and head butted him then fled. The police traced them to the car park at the payment machine and went to apprehend them then all hell broke lose. All on cctv with loads of accusations against the police. Took months for them to be charged and then more months to come to court. Given the amount of cctv at an airport I just can't see why it is all taking so long. In the photo on the BBC the one on the left is an ugly f***er.
  12. Unrelated but I wonder if I can throw this into the mix https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn5kqe01r5zo Why has this taken almost a year to come to trial? At the time all sorts of allegations about police brutality were thrown around. I didn't realise that this started with an assault in Starbucks. I am pretty damn sure had this been anybody else they would have been banged up 9 months ago.
  13. I thought Russia was sanctioned so it would be illegal to trade with Russia? What am I missing, not a hypocritical Government I hope.
  14. The great thing about going to Thailand is that I can't get the BBC. Despite have in to pay for the damn licence. I some times wish that it wasn't available in the UK.
  15. Precidence was set after a group damaged Hawk trainers at Warton and got away scot free. Same when plane stupid broke into Heathrow. A bit late to say damaging aircraft at Brize Norton is a terrorist act.
  16. Quite right, a swarm of bees. Not sure why is expanded to swarms of bees to make the police look stupid by some auditor.
  17. Again what I was told, she ran her own business but Covid saw the end of that. She said it was what she liked to do.
  18. What is it with American's and the British having bad teeth? Big gut coming from an American?
  19. Glad I made up your day in miserable Canada. Since you are here the Pizza Hut near where I lived closed and they turned into a Tim Hortons. Must be be the only one in the UK, never seen one before. What is so special about Tim Hortons?
  20. Well yes I guessed that. Although I have never said what my actual income is. Just as I am sure they have a stash some where.
  21. You write Thai or do it through a translator?
  22. Would 1000 baht cover a repeat session in the morning or is that extra?
