  1. Plus another 10-15 minutes to a decent restaurant cluster. So we are talking about 15 minutes each way. The VT 5's up the street are even worse. There is that expensive grocery store nearby but very few everyday restaurants. Most of these resort type buildings are like that. They are not made for people walking in and out, but more like an enclosure where a family would stay for a week and not care how far out things are. Everybody sees the cheap room and thinks it's great. Actually living there is a different story (unless you like driving everywhere or eating at the 7-11, or are some eternal optimist who just denies any negative which seems to be common here). You could also take the baht bus each time (at the street) I suppose, but it would get old for me doing that at each meal or carrying groceries on it regularly. No wonder the rooms are so cheap, your driving everywhere or sacrificing a couple hours a day walking down the long driveway. Is Arcadia any better? Looks like that same sort of setup to me.
  2. Yes, it's Jim. Thanks for remembering.
  3. Which Arcadia? How do you manage meals at that location? There's not much on that street. Those resort type rooms are a nasty walk out to the main street each time you want a meal, unless you are a taxi guy or have a motorbike. I never figured out how people managed that, I guess they have motorbikes or call the taxi on the app. I was walking out each time for lunch at VT 2B. By the time I got back to the room is was almost dinner time.
  4. Ok, maybe it was somebody who was trying to check out.
  5. It could have been someone checking out.
  6. What was in the suitcase?
  7. I have a psyche issue. Can you help me?
  8. Avoiding people and complaining.
  9. No, I went by there a few years ago out of curiosity when looking for a new place. I walked around the place, but never bothered to look at a room. Some unkept foreigner guy was sitting downstairs and just glared at me when I walked by. They probably know each resident there and your business. If I ever get to that financial level I will go back and check out the rooms. Farang management last I heard. Did you ever look at a room? Probably not much to see, just four walls, a window and a small bed and table.
  10. a lot of guys like being in a bar. i hate it. i'm better off having a beer on my balcony.
  11. You eat at big c pattaya klang food court. it's a school diners atmosphere. when you are through you shuffle back to pattaya pad and have a beer.
  12. You can't do 50-50 if one person is wealthier then the other. One person will want some expensive wine, the other soda water. The solution is finding somebody who is not there for the money and keeping your assets seperate. That way, when you are eating lobster and they have rice, it does not matter because you would be eating that anyway if you never met. If you want to share once in awhile it's Ok, but it's never an issue because that's not why you are there.
  13. At the root, most of the money stuff is about control. It's getting people to do what you want on some level. Even with free gifts, it's never really free. It creates obligations and ties to the giver.

  15. You need therapy now. Not true. Many don't want money.
  16. I don't think anyone can simply walk on without notice. Even if it was a rental the tenant needs to be notified in advance. If it were deemed an emergency security would need to have police or fire department present if the renter refused access. Security is stupid here. I learned that one a long time ago.
  17. I'll try that next time. Breaking out the phone may do it. Was a serious post btw, not a joke.
  18. I saw the usual older guy by the pool while walking in today. He was on the sun lounger with his hands down his swim trunks. It looked like he was diddling. Who do i report this to? The juristic office?
  19. Without over analyzing, what it means is that when a guy has to pay for it he has some sort of defect. It's pretty simple. He needs to exchange something in order to get what he wants. What that means is he has little else to offer or that would be accepted in leiu of money. It does not really matter where the other defect lies unless the guy is in therapy, you just know that he is weak somewhere.
  20. Only if you don't keep improving yourself, cowboy.
  21. there is something odd in those areas with older guys displaying their bodies. it happens at my condo often. older guys walking around with shirts off even when they don't need to be. it feels taboo to wear a shirt around the pool now. it's either a european thing or an i'm on vacation and retired thing. i guess it's not a gay thing???
  22. Oddly enough, the problem is not buying stuff for yourself. It's pressure from other people.
  23. Most lottery winners are broke within a few years.
