The Never Ending Story - Tourists and Numbers.
The never ending quest of TAT to increase tourist numbers to try to plug the blood letting in the economy, gleefully trying to stuff their coffers full of tourist cash, to get them out of their debt hole, they have come up with yet another brilliant money shakedown to bolster their flagging economy. They now are going to fine tourists for consuming alcohol outside of their self imposed Draconian "Booze Laws" - Unbelievable, they plan to impose fines of almost $500 for offenders. Who on earth wants to spend their hard earned cash on a holiday where deluded puritans are going to fine you $500 for having a beer before 11AM or between 2 and 5PM and whatever other random times they deem necessary to extort some cash from the poor holidaymakers. Way to go again boys, fingers on the pulse as usual, Keep on cutting your noses off to spite your faces. The Charlie Caroli Clown show rumbles on inexorably..... https://news.google.com/read/CBMikgFBVV95cUxPSUhsVkF2RDBqRXBXdDNKZnFDZWtnV3Y4RkFsSkFpNVVuRVItSHF3akUzVHluMW02cnJmeHFEYjY1OGU4UG0zRVZaRlFKSVliWWJDRmdvWnRkNGw1TURUd3JuSXlVazdXOE9KZlFHa1NELVQ0U3lNaDl3SVpvN3lLcmRCcTY1UVlCSUJVa0pyQUZmQdIBlwFBVV95cUxNRUhaMjZIM2k0dFZZY3M4Mzh2Tk5sZDRCM00zQWpVM2xMbmhUMHVZOHdWWklsSFp4NzlSall5dHo5elVpeTlJWTN5Sjg2RF9Ib1QxUlE4aS05d3FEUlNpb1Vna1BvQ0Z3UU1Xck5lQ0libllDRG5hYjBkYlRzZW5zbXZPaTRJQ3lpeGtESGdSdnppLTZmU2Z3?hl=en-GB&gl=GB&ceid=GB%3Aen Not really sure why it is headlined for "Aussie Tourists" I would have thought any tourists money is as good as the next mans, but maybe they just hate Aussies?

The Corsair Warranty Debacle Continues.
I checked out the site, but it seems it is more for dealers and distributors, but I cannot find where to enter the serial number. Also though, no one is disputing the warranty, they just don't seem to have the mental capacity to put things right. End of the day a voucher to go to JIB and get a new PSU would have done, but no that was too easy for them, they prefer now to play the game where I copy their CEO on everything, everyone gets pissed off and Corsair lose the sales they deserve. I have been down this road with warranties in Thailand and even a couple of the biggest names will buckle after they tell you that the warranty is not valid in Thailand (yes, seriously, some major companies have tried this in the past. The trick is to check the warranty status for the exact same product with the exact same issue, just tell them you are in the USA or the UK. Then you copy them with the response from the USA/UK and just mention the words "Racist Policy" amazing how things suddenly change. (Well its worked for the Lefties for years, well worth a try). I am pretty much accepting that this claim is dead in the water, so now it is simply "playtime" that will cost Corsair so much more than a PSU in the long run.

No mention of Synnex anywhere on either of the 3 Corsair junk heaps here.

The Corsair Warranty Debacle Continues.
You are fine if you buy the PC or its components from somewhere like JIB that isn't going to disappear overnight, your warranty will be good, in fact JIB warranty can be called out at any JIB anywhere in Thailand. If you are going for a new PC, maybe spend some time taking a look at the CPU sockets and how they are developing, as new packages come too frequently, but it might be worth taking a look at the 1854 pavkage.

The Corsair Warranty Debacle Continues.
Whatever Synnex have to do with it does not come into it if the original place of purchase does not exist any more. Synnex is for the retailers like JIB to send their repairs to, Corsair will not entertain you via this method, I even asked if I could bundle my return with JIB's (whom I bought the replacement PSU from) Corsair refused to even allow me to hand over the faulty PSU to DHL, (it was pre paid and I was going to give it to DHL when they delivered the new replacement) Corsair refused and said it needed to be handed in (They even told me not to mention the exploding PSU to DHL when I drop it off - Don't worry, I keep every e mail!)

The Corsair Warranty Debacle Continues.
Buyer Beware! This is basically an update regarding a previous message that was concerned with any sort of "Warranty" that comes with buying new products here in Thailand. The important issue here is mainly when you purchase online rather than a physical shop, your THAILAND warranty might not be what you hoped for. My situation has cost me a packet and in the end, ended up with nothing to show. The problems here really begin if the online store you purchase from closes or refuses warranty. I bought a CORSAIR rm850X power supply for my pc. The PSU I believe had either a 5 year or 10 year warranty, my PSU was about 2 years old when the problems began. The PSU suddenly exploded - flames shooting out from the back of the PC, I was there at the time and pulled the plug, it did not trip my breakers at this time, so was an obvious fire hazard. After I was unable to return the PSU to the online store (gone) I contacted CORSAIR support. They checked all my warranty details and confirmed it was covered. They asked me to ship it to them in TAIWAN! (They have no support here in Thailand) In addition to shipping to Taiwan, they requested that it would be advisable to ship the PSU recorded delivery, which I did using EMS, and paid about USD $45 to ship it. CORSAIR replaced this faulty PSU (It apparently is quite a common problem if you look online) and shipped me back a "Guaranteed Refurbished" PSU. Now, the faulty PSU was away for about 2-3 weeks, so in the meantime, I bought another PSU as I needed to use the PC on a daily basis, so the refurbed PSU was put to one side for maybe 1 month. My son has his own PC and the old 600 W Thermaltake PSU was getting a b it tired so we swapped it out with the refurbed unit. As soon as we powered on the PC the PSU kept switching off or dropping voltage, not actually switching off the PC and Windows, but almost shutting down and restarting on its own over and over again. Eventually, there was another loud bang and the refurbed PSU exploded, luckily it tripped my breakers and we managed to keep the flames out of reach of anything that burns. The PSU was replaced with the old Thermaltake and all was fine. We took the PSU and PC to a tech in the city and he checked, right on queue it blew up almost in his face with what looks to be the same problem as the original. (I spoke with CORSAIR and they assured me it was a replacement PSU rather than my old PSU repaired. Now the fun begins! CORSAIR then expected me to pay EMS all over again another $45 to ship back again to Taiwan. After contacting their CEO and QA Manager, they did eventually send me a pre paid DHL shipping label... yes, sadly DHL, this becomes clear later. At about the same time, because I complain a real lot, they did the right thing and jumped the shark and posted a new replacement PSU before receiving the faulty one. Well, as it is DHL, they seem to work in cahoots with Thai customs, they are the only company I have known that makes sure 100% that anything you ship with them will be guaranteed to end up in Thai Customs, almost one would think there was a partnership to scam duty off people, if I didn't know better. Well, that is exactly what happened, DHL "surrendered voluntarily" my PSU to Thai customs, who upon seeing an opportunity to rake in some free cash, decided to hold the package. I luckily found this out by chance using the tracking details, as neither DHL, Thai Customs or CORSAIR had the decency to even contact me to inform me of the problem. Well, I won't be throwing anymore good money after bad, so they can sing as far as I am concerned, I will not pay 1 satang towards this garbage, and, in fact, CORSAIR should have made it 100% clear that this is a warranty replacement with no commercial value and is a replacement under warranty. Whether CORSAIR did this or not (I have my doubts) but either way, Thai Customs appear to have seized it and are in the process of making it disappear or return to Taiwan. So, no warranty, no refund, no repair and no power supply! CORSAIR do not want to know, so they are less than useful. At the end of the day this PSU has cost a packet and all for nothing as CORSAIR are unwilling or unable to supply a warranty repair or refund and the costs are roughly as follows. Original purchase circa $130, original return for warranty repair $45, so for the first repair I was out $170. If I was to send again with EMS, it is another $45, then there is the customs, not sure what the duty is, but even if it is 30%, then that is another $40, so a basic 850W PSU has ended up potentially costing about $260! So, if the company you are buying from does not have warranty facilities here then beware. I had a similar problem a few years ago with Sony and PlayStation, they too thought that it was acceptable to cop out of their warranty responsibilities if the end user is from Thailand - and no this is not rubbish, most of the Thais where I am would never even think or bother to return an item under warranty, they know all too well how they get treated here, they just accept it, the very people who the warranty means the most. As I said, I bought a back up, how many locals can afford this or how many kids for their gaming PC? It frankly stinks.

Inspection - Road Tax
Why not go to the TRO, they get your tax and insurance for you and you generally get a free bag (0.5-1KG) of rice too, no need to make two trips, and no, your car does not need to be 7 years old to take it there, they will process cars of any age, tax and insurance with updated blue book all ready to collect from their one stop shop - Like Thai passport offices and applications,, some things just really work well here

Thailand to Introduce New Polymer Banknotes in November
Just make sure you don't do what I did, I tried ironing a new plastic 20 Baht to see if it smoothed it out nicely, it did, the only problem is that it ended up the size of a postage stamp.

Thailand's Foreign Tourist Numbers Drop 7.22% This Year
The problem is that most Thais seem to like that situation or even need this sort of government. It allows them to carry on in their usual "Not My Responsibility" way. They thrive with a benevolent dictatorship.

When Allegations Outweigh Evidence: Is Justice Dead?
The media has spent months if not years trying to hang the bloke. I don't like the guy but he is getting a raw deal. No charges, no real evidence of breaking the law, yet the media have a bee in their bonnet with this guy, Not justifying anything illegal if it has happened, but give him at least a bit of credit for getting off his arse and joining up and serving his country. Which is more than many could say. As for the media, is this smoke and mirrors? How on earth can they spend all of this effort trying to ruin one man when the country has been invaded by illegal third world criminals raping and murdering innocent citizens, someone has an agenda here. Focus on the real news, focus on trying to prevent the country from being destroyed, it is already a laughing stock the world over. The British media are a disgrace and most of them should be sacked, removed from their positions, at least there is evidence to show what those bastards have been up to.

When Allegations Outweigh Evidence: Is Justice Dead?
Spot on! Where is his conviction? I am no fan of Andrew, but he is getting the <deleted>ty end of the stick. The girl he is accused of diddling with, is a money grabbing liar and a con artist - just google her! She was at least 17 at the time, which in the UK is totally legal. It is as if they are using Andrew as the scapegoat to deflect the real swine in this royal <deleted>fest, Meghan and the Ginger Git. Not to mention Epstein. If Andrew has broken the law, charge him, take him to court, if not, give it a rest. There are a million things up the creek in the UK at the minute and Andrew is the least of the problem.

British groceries @ a discount
Agree 100%. There products are generally twice what you pay anywhere else, even when you get a discount, by the time you add on credit card charges, shipping, it just isn't worth it unless it really is something you crave and cannot get elsewhere.

Big Toe Fungus - How to Fix
I'd start by soaking it in warm soapy water, then I would cut the nail back into shape. I reckon you have something similar to what I have right now. It is extremely painful, starts with an itch, then turns into excruciating pain. Maybe the beginning of an ingrowing toenail. My doctor gave me two creams to apply, both stop the itch - Medmaker Urea (I believe the cream is "U-Repair" The other cream is called "Tonaf" Tolnafate, this helps warm it up and helps relieve the pain. (The doctor advised me to apply either one, then wait 30 minutes and apply the other.) She also warned me never to use alcohol (my bad) to clean it, she says it will dry it out and more cracking and pain will ensue. Do not wear flip flops or open toed shoes, make sure to put on clean socks and make sure to change socks everyday. Good luck.

Getting copies of scans from a hospital
You just need to ask them for a copy. Usually the files are in a format that is pre rendered onto the CD, tthere will be a number of files, you need to double click the file (looks like a web page file) called INDEX.HTM - there should also be a readme.txt file that will help. The format is interactive, i.e. if you get an MRI or similar, you can use the file to view all of your insides slice by slice.

British Couple Find Bargain Life in Thailand's Affordable Charm
r They were too polite to say what they really meant, that living in the UK these days paying top dollar for everything, sky high rents, sky high food, sky high everything. Then to sit and watch it all being squandered on illegal immigrants from third world hovels, must be truly heartbreaking. Illegal immigrants given preferential treatment in housing, in health, hospitals, education. Thye like me and thousands of other Brits are well pissed off seeing our own citizens treated as second class underclass. Good luck to them, it certainly will be a much better life here in Thailand than living in that <deleted>hole with those <deleted>s. No doubt these two have had to jump through all the legal hops to remain here legally, while all the time their homeland is being overun with terrible aliens that do not comply with the laws, do not integrate and do nothing but cause trouble, crime, murder, rape everywhere they go.

UK State Pension to be cut to save the UK economy
Surely the British people cannot be so self centred and greedy as to not offer to reduce their pension voluntarily in order to help pay for all of the services required by our foreign brothers from far off lands whom we welcome to our shores with open arms. Welcome, enjoy your new life that we have paid for for you, hope you feel welcome and have all you require, just let us know if you need anything. Yes, you can still purchase knives online and in local shops, I am sure they will be priced well within the pocket money the Home office decide to give you all out of our pension pot, that we worked for until we were 67. Help yourselves.

400k seasoned or not on child dependant visa
A few years back (maybe 4?) there was no need for any seasoning for a dependant child, you were able to turn up at immigration and make the application as long as there was 400K in the bank on the day of application. I have seen nothing to say there have been any changes, however the personal whims of the immigration cops might over ride this as is often the case when it comes down to the Thai Law and the personal requirements of the important people in charge.
