  1. In fact, we found nothing minor about his service. The only part of the process that we had to do ourselves was get the bank letters. He did all the rest, including finding out which documents we needed to make the changes we wanted, assembled and made copies of everything, arranged for a low queue number, picked us up from our house, handled everything at Immigration successfully, and drove us home. In and out in less than two hours. For two of us. Nope, nothing minor about his service.
  2. I wonder... If they are not all stuck together when the bottle is fresh, consider adding 1/8 teaspoon of cornstarch to the bottle and giving it a shake, coating all the pills lightly. That keeps 'gummy worm' candy from sticking. Would that work for you?
  3. It's not uncommon to disagree with a Commander-in-Chief. It's not normal to be embarrassed by one.
  4. We used an agent this year as we needed to make some changes in my wife’s visa status. We had all the required documents, assembled and copied by the agent, the correct funds in the bank, and all we wanted was to smooth out the process. For 2,000 Baht, the agent did just that. Hired a sitter to get an early queue number, picked us up in front of our house at 8am and drove us to Immigration. When the document checkers arrived, we were the first called. The checker recognized the agent, so didn’t need to check each page seven times, so we went right inside. 10 minutes later I was asked to sign another document, 10 minutes after that we were called for photos. Another few minutes and we had our extensions and changes in our passports, and we’re on the way home before 10am! Smooth! Well worth 2,000 Baht.
  5. Yes, we can see that from your post. Thanks for clearing that up. 🙂 (Gotta love the irony!)
  6. Yes, I can understand that. Sorry, it wasn't my intention to denigrate Trump supporters. (Denigrate means to belittle or disparage )
  7. Would you be interested in buying a bridge?
  8. Have you looked at the back of your Social Security card? Did you see where it says ‘Not for Identification?’ Have you EVER been asked to produce your Social Security card? Or isn’t it just the ‘number’ that’s needed. Did you know that those three sets of numbers are coded to the year you applied, the state in which you applied, and your group? A computer will pick up any inconsistencies immediately. It doesn’t ‘look’ at the card. Same with drivers licenses. Buy as many as you want. Just don’t input the numbers into a computer.
  9. I wind up getting tap water in my mouth every morning when I take a shower. I don't actively drink the stuff, but enough certainly gets into my mouth to taste. Chiang Mai water isn't bad-tasting. 25-odd years ago, wandering through Banglampoo, I watched a vendor refilling a cart full of those white, soft plastic bottles from a street-side tap a block off Khaosan Rd. No filter involved.
  10. I remember the first time I was in a Thai supply shop that sold the 'safety-seal' bottle caps by the bag. Refill from the tap, slap on a new safety-seal cap, hit it with the heel of your hand, and Voila! A brand new sealed bottle of water to sell to the unsuspecting tourists! There's a shop on Ratchadamnoen Rd. in Chiang Mai that sells them. Probably available everywhere.
  11. Me too. And that seems to happen so often these days! However, just think of all the probiotics released into the water!
  12. It appears that most people purchase their water based on cost. Don't people consider the taste? Tea is very important in my life, so the taste of the water is very important to me. I won't use most brands of bottled water for my tea as they ruin a good brew. I installed an under-sink 5-stage filter from HomePro, installed it in about 20 minutes, and now have all the good-tasting water I want, cheaply (I spent 5,000 years ago to buy the unit, and about 500 baht a year replacing filter cartridges). I guess if you are only in Thailand for a few months a year, renting a different place each time, you are forced to live with buying bottles of water. But if you are here for the long run, I find that a water filter is a much cheaper, more convenient option.
  13. ... on a scale the likes of which have never been witnessed before!
  14. Have you ever applied for government financial aid services or government healthcare, or food programs? Didn't it take a Social Security number, two forms of identification with photo, and a copy of a utility bill in your name showing your address? Or think that a computer wouldn't be able to flag a fake Social Security number before the first payment went out, generally several months after application? Yet you still think all these illegal aliens are somehow signing up? Wow.
  15. Perhaps the important words are ‘to date.’ If it were me, I’d certainly check with my bank first so there are no surprises. It’s embarrassing to not be able to pay the dinner bill when it arrives.
  16. Try the software “Calibre” It can change PDF to mobi, epub, lit, etc. You want the mobi format for Kindle. Calibre is the best program for e-readers. It’s free, and besides converting formats, it’s a fill service book manager/reader.
  17. Smoother, that's for sure. Life just slides by these days. I can't find the time to do all the things I'd like to, but there's no rush. 🙂
  18. I almost hate to disagree with you, but you’re right. It’s just a shame that half the country doesn’t care about his lies. That’s America’s most pressing problem, not illegal aliens.
  19. To this level, to this degree? Why does there have to be independent fact-checkers needed every time he opens his mouth? He had made more lies in the few months in office than all the lies of the past 25 presidents combined! No. I did not check the exact numbers. It's the massive scope of his lying that is so outrageous! Virtually every time he speaks.
  20. I drink 4-5 liters of black tea every day, and have for the last 50 years. Yes... I pee a lot! Surprisingly, there are toilets everywhere these days, so no problem.
  21. AI is a tool. You can use a tool correctly or incorrectly. You can use it to make beautiful, wondrous things or create total garbage. It just depends on who and how you use it. You can trust good-quality tools to work well. You can be sure that poor-quality tools may let you down. Regardless of your choice of tools, a wise person double-checks their work for inaccuracies. That is NOT being done very often with the general public's use of AI.
  22. Did you forget so quickly? Do you remember his words? "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." What did you do for your country? Anything other than being there and paying some money for taxes? Does that really end your responsibility to America? Personally, I don't think so. That's just hiding behind the name 'citizen.' Its only meaning to you is what you can get, not what you should give. Sorry, that's not the America in which I grew up, nor wish to see in the future.
  23. At least 10 pardoned January 6th rioters have been re-arrested, charged, or sentenced for new crimes since receiving pardons from President Trump. Some of these new crimes include plotting murder of FBI agents, child sexual assault, possession of child sexual abuse material, reckless homicide while driving drunk, and other serious offenses. In many cases, crimes committed AFTER being pardoned . A few of these pardoned individuals remain fugitives with outstanding warrants.
  24. Yeah, when South America invaded us, the Klingons had to step in and help. (Is there something seriously wrong with this guy?) No, the U.S. Constitution does NOT allow everyone the right to live here. Please study your history. Hell, study ANYTHING and it will be easier to discuss this with you. Ignorance is not bliss.
  25. Unfortunately, that has been the case whenever he rolls over and ignores the Constitution. And the Right cheers him on. Doesn't the Constitution mean anything to them?
