  1. http://www.fightnews...710#more-117710 read this and lick your lips!!!!

Just read it. Man, am I looking foreward to Sunday!

Yeah Baboon you and all the rest of us "boxing buffs" , the way I see it Manny is great when his opponent "comes forward" ala Ricky Hatton and Antonio Margarito ,Bradley is a different kettle of fish entirely ,he's well schooled and knows exactly what to expect ,Manny will try and "blow him away" early and of course he may well succeed cos as you are aware it only takes one good punch for the "fight plan" to go out of the window , having said that has Manny got a "plan B"if his early onslaught fails? Going off the last fight with Marquez it would appear doubtful as his frustration was all too evident ,all in all this is a high risk fight for Manny so in this win ,lose or draw ,he has to be commended for it , personally I would not have took the fight and waited for Mayweather to come out of prison for IMHO the highest box office gate in the history of" the noble art"smile.png

That is what I am wondering - if Pacquiao loses, how will it affect the chances of the Mayweather fight? We simply MUST see them in action. Colin: I have a feeling Manny will pull the rabbit out of the hat. It is a shame we Thaivisa boxing fans could not be watching together over a beer.... I remember Tyson v Holyfield I in Phuket. What a fantastic morning that was!

Yeah Baboon ,like I said it just takes one punch, to change the entire fight ,Kendall Holt put Bradley down with a left hand but could not keep him there ,personally although Holt can bang I would think Mannys left carrys more stopping power ,getting back to the Marquez fight Manny appeared to run out of idea's in the later rounds ,although he got the nod ,most including myself thought the decision a travesty ,there's no doubt Bradleys team will know exactly what to expect and I hardly think he will go toe to toe in the early rounds , all in all a fascinating match up ,if Manny lose's ?, IMHO the marketability of the fight with Mayweather will hit rock bottom ,who wants to watch a loser ?, as stated previously I would have waited for Floyd to come out of the pen , then started the usual ballyhoo for one last mega money fight ,it could still happen but only if he gets past Bradley in my view .wink.png
  2. http://www.fightnews.com/ Hi Baboon , obviously you are a "fight fan " you just have to put this on your favorites ,all the latest up to the minute news world wide , yeah I think it will be the "Matador V Bull " kind of fight ,if you look at "fight news" you will see its a ripper of an under card , unfortunately if its on Channel 3 you will only see the main event ,the PPV is 54$ so one must not complain too much eh thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the heads up. My local cable company has several sports channels, so I reckon I will get to see the undercard as well - even if the commentary is in Manderin. Here`s to a good competetive morning of boxing! Is anyone brave enough to make a prediction?

I already have ! Bradley on points thumbsup.gif

Unpredictable. biggrin.png Bradley on points, or he surprisingly ko's Manny by late rounds. thumbsup.gif

Unpredictable is an understatement !, Manny will being swinging them in from the "bleachers" In the early rounds ,however as the last Marquez fight showed he can easily be countered ,and in my book Bradley has more skills , fascinating match up for sure ,but as stated in my post#17 I would have waited for one last mega money fight with Floyd ,then win ,lose or draw hung my gloves up , my opinion if Manny and Floyd got it together?, Mayweather would run rings round him as his defence is the best in boxing today ,ask Juan Manuel Marquez who refused a rematch thumbsup.gif

  5. Brilliant undercard, too, looking forward to it. As for the main event, Pacquaio's team picked an undefeated, naturally lighter boxer with not much punching power, but I think Bradley can shock them. His speed is something different from Pacquaio's last few opponents.

http://boxrec.com/li...68173&cat=boxer Hey Garrya, Bradley is hardly a "powerdpuff puncher" (ala Pauly Malignaggi) and his record is second to none ,Manny likes to come forward which will increase Bradleys punching power if he catches Manny coming in! and don't forget Bradly will not be "weight drained" come fight night which may add to his punching power wink.png

  7. Thanks for the History Lesson Folium, It would appear its your specialist subject ,but IMHO what happened 100 years ago is hardly applicable today in this particular case ,time to move on and look at today,s problem smile.png

Today's problems are a direct result of arbitrary lines drawn on maps by foreigners with very different agendas to the folks actually on the ground! Understanding what is going on today in Afghanistan/Pakistan needs an understanding of it s historical context.

Understanding? IMHO I don't think past history comes into the Pakistani's who favour terrorism or the Talibans Mindset, so its not just an Afghan or Pakistan problem .Per Se .,as the thousands of civilian casualty's on both sides will testify .
  8. Will Pacquiao - Mayweather ever happen?

Good question , but first he has to beat Bradley and this is no "walk in the park" by any means,IMHO and many good judges Juan Manuel Marquez beat Manny in his last fight , my prediction Bradley to win on points ,if Manny can't put him away in 5 rounds I think he'll run out of idea's and become frustrated like he did in his last fight even though he got the nodsmile.png .
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk...d-asia-18350766 Its becoming increasingly obvious that the USA does not trust Pakistan any more (if it ever did) the Bin Laden raid proved this quite conclusively IMHO ,maybe with this Missile launch they are "flexing their muscles" a bit to show the world they are far from helpless, the big question is who do they see as a threat?, I hardly think the US would be impressed though with this latest "roman candle"smile.png

The US/Pakistan relationship hinges on who needs who the most at the moment, but it is indeed very messy. China has become Pakistan's key ally as the US switches to backing India.

Who does Pakistan see as a threat? A bloody partition in 1947, 4 wars (1947, 1965, 1971 & 1999), mutual ongoing support for insurgents, and a near nuclear war in 2001 make India a very real threat.

Don't you think that India's a wee bit to close to start anything nuclear? ,anyway India's too busy making money to start anything ,and what about the tiger population if it "kicks off"?biggrin.png

  11. The Pakistani missiles are tools of international peace and are helping to propel Pakistan's development forward. I anticipate that any day now, Pakistan will join the 12th century. thumbsup.gif

The best post I have read on here for quite some time.....I applaud you...clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

Yeah Lucid , I,m with you all the way on GK's post, short ,sweet ,and very much to the point ,just a shame It may be viewed by some as "racist", but then again in these politically correct times the plain truth often is ain't it smile.png
  12. I hope it works. I am a big fan of animal conservation. The US has tens of thousands more deer than 100 years ago because of successful conservation policies. Not only are there more deer but deer hunting is a major source of sports revenue (in the billions of dollars)in the States. Of course the money for conservation efforts is funded by hunting licenses.

Well written Kerryk , "Comrade Col" agree's with you 110%, the problem with Tigers of course is that they are carnivores and with the diminishing prey species (due to local hunting) and decreasing habitat they recourse to killing livestock which is often a real problem for the local villager when his only means of tilling his fields ,(his water buffalo) is taken .
  13. Dan my good friend may I remind you that "real warriors ' do not put their children and women in the "firing line"(human shields) nor do they brainwash young kids (suicide bombers) to make the supreme sacrifice for their "cause" whilst garnering tens of millions from the very people (the Infidel" they seek to annihilate. cos in many cases the Taliban and many Pakistani's are "as one" thumbsup.gif

  14. I don't know anyone besides Amrican oil companies that are spending big bucks on tiger conservation. Get out there and buy them SUV's.

I suggest you read the link in my post # 66 wink.png

I did, and it said, "The Global Tiger Recovery Program estimates the countries will need about $350 million in outside funding in the first five years of the 12-year plan. The summit will be seeking donor commitments to help governments finance conservation measures." So far the only one I know of that has coughed up seriuos money, 9-12 million dollars has been Exxon. So do you think that, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam and Russia are going to give 350 million to save anything? Tigers! Ya sure. The listed countries are not really fiscally very trustworthy.

Yeah Kerryk , I'll go along with your musings thumbsup.gif
