  1. Yes, one toilet. That reminded me of something else about that stay. Every day a woman around 50 years old would come with what I believe were young nursing students. The girls (about 10 of them) would surround my bed and the older one would ask me questions in Enghish. "Have you had a pee and poop yet Baby?", "Have you washed up yet Baby?". She would tell the girls what I answered and all the girls would smile at me in approval. The "Baby" bit was a little disarmingšŸ«¤.
  2. I think I was the only one in the room that had one. Not sure what the others were in for except one had a broken leg.
  3. No, mine was laparoscopic. 2 or 3 small holes. But like I said around 6 years ago. Can't even find them now. Just want to add it was at Suranari Korat
  4. I had mine done at the government hospital for around 25k. The two downsides, they use gas to put you under, and you are put in a room with 5 others afterward.
  5. I have used this guy often to drive me from Phimai to Bangkok. He is stationed in Bangkok and drives out to pick me up. My cost is just under 4000. He is a good driver, not crazy. Glad to stop any time to pick up a coffee or use the toilet. PM me for his name and number. Have your wife talk to him as I don't think his English is very good.
  6. When you get to a wifi shop check out this site to find out how to set up the Telstra phone for roaming. https://www.telstra.com.au/international-roaming
  7. We have those white lines in my town also. They may as well not be there as no one seems to pay attention to them. It seems that there is one poster here that claims to not pay attention to them.
  8. Back home a crow would bring walnuts from a tree about 100 m away drop them on the road, sit on a fence post and wait for a car to come by and run over it. When out walking if I saw one on the road I would crack it open for it. It was not long until when he saw me coming, he would drop one in front of me. They say crows can recognize faces and can hold a grudge against an individual.
  9. Think about the last time you saw a lumber mill or a paper mill in Thailand.
  10. Thais love fish heads. There was a restaurant near Samsen train station that became famous for its deep-fried fish heads. They had to start restricting the number of orders due to all the fish bodies they had to throw away.
  11. How would the residents know what he used the money for? Were they selling it to him?
  12. One place I go, I'm a regular. If they see me come in, they know what I will order, I don't have to stand in line. I go sit at a table outside, they bring my drink out to me. When I leave I clean up my own mess. Would they give me the same service if I didn't tip? Most likely. but I think they deserve one. What came first, the chicken or the egg?
  13. Right now it is still yesterday there
  14. Trump met with the family https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/04/02/trump-ruby-garcia-michigan-murder/
  15. As I live rural, I tip quite a bit. Many locals try and fail at keeping their businesses going out here. If I find a mom-and-pop shop that I like I tip well. Chain outlets with tip boxes not so much.
  16. But you are the very one who said you don't want to pay more to have a shirt made so the workers could have better pay. A g word comes to mind.
  17. So Germany invaded Poland and France. It was just THEIR war? At what point do you act against an aggressor? Only when he is at your doorstep?
  18. I think I am. It is always the innocent that get hurt the most. I know that song by heart, and still find it hard to turn the other cheek when the aggressor is using a bat.
  19. Now sure about Thai law. But don't you need to be caught in the act?
  20. Same here. I had a bridge, 3 crowns, going on 30 years now. Well worn, but still there.
  21. For me anyway, it would be more work to learn Modern. I have put so much time into reading Traditional. I can see that if you are trying to learn to write, the Modern would be easier but I need to write so little I will stick to Traditional.
  22. Yes, that does help up to a point. I used to ride my bicycle up to get coffee but in this heat I had to give that up. It was not so much the heat as it was that when I would get to the shop I would have sweated so much that it looked like I had pissed myself. I see other Thai riders nearly as dry as a bone. Northern European heritage has some drawbacks in this weather.
