    Shoei is Medium. Bog standard, stock cheek pads. Shark is Large with 30mm check pads. Fits like a glove. Very little rotational slop and has cut-outs for speakers. Fitment of both is about the same. I wear the Shark more not only because it is newer but because wearing a balaclava I can take it on and off while still wearing my glasses.????

    Weird, that because I always wore Shoei. Now that happens to me if I forgo my Shark and use an older Shoei. I just measured and I am around 56-57cm using a metal tape. As I said my Shark is L but if it is a good shop like the one I found in BKK they put 30mm cheek pads in for me so they could sell it and magic. That was to be my next suggestion.

    Different helmets fit different shaped heads. If you don't have a "Shoei head" then they won't fit. Sadly the only way to find out is to try one on. I have a Shoei head as I've had two, but my other helmet is a Shark (medium with small cheek pads). If there is a Shark dealer up North?

    Mine only cost me 12,000. Yes it needs a top end overhaul which is on the list but I've already been up some local hills and followed some farm tracks which is what I bought it for. I have bought some trail tyres for it and a 3 litre red gas can just in case.
