Along Pattaya beach you will be putting up with this for 2-3 years. Not only the heavy equipment but all the cigarette smoking workers staring at you and your Thai? girlfriend as you walk by. When I arrived at the North end I immediately went on to Jomtien. Although they have plans to up sand the beach in Jomtiem, At the rate they are working ( I checked South end) going to be years getting North. And by the way: the scene along jomtien beach rd is pretty normal. Unlike the horror show along Pattaya beach. Photos today And if your bringing a girlfriend- Jomtien for sure

Ok what are "cheap" condos ? Because with this just started another 3 year construction promenade "improvement" BS project including under ground toilets. Jomtien relative is starting to look good.

I guess its going to come down to which side is going to prevail: The elites who have been ashamed of the rap Thailand and especially Pattaya have had. Indeed but the promenade/ widening beach road remake way back 2013 was for accommodating tour buses and staging area for Chinese speedboat tours to Ko larn. Not a pleasant place at all, especially with these lowlife local males on motorbikes. The total atmosphere along the beach is a horror show. The Bookazines and in/outside cafes have been replaced with fast food. And the Europeans have been replaced by the oblivious chinese and Indians. Even the more sophisticated Thais have complained. The only way they can get any numbers back is with the casino last card. Sure if your on the 20th floor in some 4-5 * in South Naklua / North Pattaya at night it could be Monte Carlo. As one forum member brings up over and over again. So while true, high end travelers like to stroll along the water front in evenings for dining and shopping taking in a nice foreign atmosphere. Well ya all best stay in Monte Carlo.
