Sorry if it's been mentioned already, "The Rescue" the long awaited cave rescue has appeared.
Available with subs on RARBG:-
The Rescue - 2021 - IMDB Rating 8.3
A chronicle of the enthralling, against-all-odds story that transfixed the world in 2018: the daring rescue of twelve boys and their coach from deep inside a flooded cave in Northern Thailand.
Haven't watched it myself yet, but interesting subject and a 8.3 rating it should be quite watchable ????
Just finished watching this doc, excellent coverage and very gripping.

Me too. The PDF had fields missing that i filled in on the application. (3 days and still pending).
Me three, I definitely put the house numbers in but when they werent in the PDF I thought maybe I put them in the wrong box. It doesnt really matter....this form, the app, and all the other red tape we have to go through is all designed to keep us criminal farangs busy having less time to get up to mischief!
I'm pending since yesterday morning. Wish the old online reporting was still up as I seem to have been one of the lucky ones as it always worked for me and I always got an immediate approval (maybe my Imm Office was one of those on auto approval as someone else mentioned earlier).

I was able to register this morning no probs, email replies instantly to my inbox (not spam). Checked status of application and it says pending so will wait to see if successful.
I was surprised I wasnt asked anywhere for arrival card number (only the date) which is usually a must......or did I miss something?

You can usually hear them coming well before visual contact

The head of Thailand's tourism authority said that when the final numbers are tallied half a million foreign tourists will have visited the country this year.
Really? In all the years I have listened to this dept. I got the distinct impression no-one there could count nor use a calculator properly

I would have thought the news of the new variant coming out of South Africa, which scientists are saying is 'horrific' and 'worrisome', would be more befitting of Breaking News than this dribble.

I am just curious and I'm sure many are already asking this question,, but does it really not seem obvious to the authorities? I mean so many fires in the past couple of years, or so, have been repeat fires? How many times does lightning strike twice in the same place? It just doesn't happen. One place where a fire happens twice maybe could happen, but would seem suspicious. But I can think of at least three places where a fire has struck twice, at each of them in the last year or two. There may be more happening but like many things that go on, not all reported. I just wonder if the insurance companies have adequate inspectors doing their own investigation? I know it's not professional to assume or speculate, but really there is just no way fires keep happening twice at so many establishments. Unless the place was buit sub par. Oh! Wait I forgot, maybe there is no real standard of quality.
Back home I had a mate in the glass business. His biggest jobs were night clubs supplying mirrored walls etc, and they always came after the clubs had been burnt out by "accidental electrical fires" just at a time when the venues needed a decor/theme change. As 'luck' would have it the revamps were paid for by insurance claims. However I can never understand why sometimes he had the requests for quotations and new plans BEFORE the fire??

I came across this, downloaded it and watched it and thought it was very good indeed.
This, being, "JFK Revisited: Through The Looking Glass" and in my opinion, it is a must watch for all of you who remember this awful assassination.
I was 15 at the time and it happened on the eve of my 16th birthday, so I remember the date, not only because it was my birthday, but because of what I knew of JFK, being a good president and well liked.
It seemed to be all done and dusted especially when Lee Harvey Oswald was shot and killed, however the mystery of the shooting, how many bullets and where they came from etc was never successfully explained.
Now that a lot of the letters/evidence/transcripts have been released, this documentary homes in on some of them and the revelations are quite stunning (including pics of the head of the date JFK).
I won't say any more in case it spoils it for anybody, but if you have ever been interested in this part of history, then it's a must, but I must warn you, it may well taint/damage your view of a particular president and the agencies which operate in the US, with impunity it seems.
Available on 1337x.to.
Thank you. An excellent documentary which I somehow seem to have missed. If you havn't read or heard of it before there is an excellent book on the subject by Jim Garrison, DA of New Orleans 1962-74 titled "JFK: On the Trail of the Assassins" which discloses a lot of the same especially Lee Harvey Oswald's ties to the CIA, the cover-ups, the misinformation, etc.
How do they continue to get away with it all?

There are at least some western countries (including Australia) that accept both Chinese vaccines for entry without quarantine.
If I absolutely had to get vaxed it would be one of those old style vaccines.
There are over 50 countries that accept 2 jabs of Sinovac now including the UK, Australia and the USA.

Since I spend most of my time in Isaan—I can tell you why so many Provinces have low vaccination rates. Up until about one week ago, these people had only SinoVac as a first shot. And up until about six weeks ago, they were offered only SinoVac for both shots. It doesn’t take a rocket scientists to understand the government tried to use up SinoVac on the Isaan people.
No that is incorrect. Try to look past the China hating and it will be clear to you. I am in Isaan and since July the vax has been first shot Sinovac followed by AZ as second. For the last 2 months or more its been AZ for 1st and second. Over 60's such as myself and those with ailments such as my wife with diabetes, have been both AZ starting from 6 July which is the date promised by the govt. They havnt been using Sinovac for a while here.

Mmmm can only give you my experience but I live in Kalasin province and got my first AZ (NOT SINOVAC) shot first week in July. I am over 60, which may contribute, but the hospital rang, said they have a stock of vaccine but many locals were refusing so they started looking at farang on the list.
My FIL refused to be vaccinated until his youngest daughter offered to pay him 1,000 baht per shot. Make what you will of that.
Something else I have noticed up here is the locals having no idea about current affairs. I have never seen a newspaper during the 8 years here let alone someone reading one. The TV channel is changed when the news comes on to whatever Thai soapy is available. Everything is word of mouth and mostly wrong, For example yesterday was the end of our rice harvest where all the workers get together for a feed and a few drinks. No masks were to be seen. About 4 or 5 of the men were drinking lao khao, all from the one glass as per usual, and when another worker rolled up wearing a mask, he was told it was not necessary because everyone was vaccinated.

By being willing to discuss it, are they in fact saying that gambling is more acceptable to Thai culture than pornography is even though gambling destroys 1,000's of peoples lives every year?

I hope they checked with the CIA first to make sure this wasnt one of their operations to raise funds to support the overthrow of some democratically elected government or possibly to finance their war on drugs??

So any economic recovery is due to returning expats because they have already admitted that very few are tourists. Notice the wording is now 'arrivals' not 'tourists' LOL!

I am still having loads of problems with Win 10, certainly not looking forward to 11. MS have done 2 updates in last couple of weeks even though I have done everything I can find to turn them off. Each of the updates have removed all my files, settings etc and taken me hours to reverse the updates and get my laptop back. It would be nice to actually have some control of your own computer or get an update that works instead of them releasing a product and them waiting for their customers to tell them whats wrong with it!!

Apart from everything else you have to take into consideration that Thais believe that every farang has a money tree in their backyards, that there are no poor farang. All those tens of thousands or more of farang who have been out of work since this pandemic started have just had more time to harvest 1,000 baht notes from their money trees and now can have a nice holiday in Thailand.
