Hi Lostin, it tells me its windows 10 Pro, windows is activated,product Id,is filled in and in product key the last 5 Xs have letters.

I only use windows deffender and when on form site i turn off adblock plus, ive read that this can disrupt form s and info matters.

Seems to be okay your activation.

Anyway, delete your adblock, then use this tool ( Kaspersky Virus removal Tool= not an Anti virus, only to clean your machine) Here:

Thanks, i ran the scan and it found 9 advertising related things, no viruses, it seems windows defender is doing its job,..

In my post #02 of this thread, i stated that this was not an operating system problem but rather the software (Office suite) that you are using to create, edit or change the document you are using. While i consider this to be true, here is a step-by-step to make sure you are setup correctly. I have attached a .docx (Operating System Default Date Settings) with snapshots to accompany this post. The snaps are taken from W10 professional & MS Office 2016, but will be the same for other recent versions as well.

Operating System Default Date Settings.

Go into Control Panel (right-click on Start button and select Control Panel. When Control Panel opens, if not already done, select small icons (or large icons if you are vision impaired) from the View by dropdown button (Top right). This is set to Category by default; I find the icon view to give you better control as opposed to category or the new Windows search view.

Click on Language. My computer is set for only English (United States), but the same changes can be made to any language pack installed. On the left side click on Change date, time, or numbers formats.

The Region box will then openand regardless of the language format selected, will allow you to change the Date & Time formats. When you have made your changes, click Apply and OK to set as default. (You may have to reboot to apply these changes (I can't remember). Under the Location tab in the Region box I am still in Thailand.

Changing a Date format in an Excel cell.

Quick check in Options: Open Excel, click on File then Options. When the OPtions box opens, click on Language and check the Display Language box has selected Match Microsoft Windows <default>. If so, close the boxes and open the file you want to edit.

Open the Excel file you want to change. Right click on the cell containing the format you want to change and click on Format Cells from the drop down list. Click on the Number tab and select Date from the Category list. Change to whatever format you need and click OK.

Note: if you have a Date column or row, you can select the whole range before right clicking and Format Cells.

Hope this solves your problem, I still think the Excel option meets your needs as opposed to the operating system, but the first bit doesn't hurt. Check the attached.................

No Ben,it was an english form i was doing and its the correct way dd/mm/yyyy as we english use, although it has a stupid american spell checker,which i ignore!!

Another thing that isn't guaranteed is that your operating system is genuine just because it receives updates....................

There are many methods of tricking the MS servers to believe you are legit.

Unless you received a separate receipt for the operating system/software, or it was specifically itemized on your overall receipt from the computer shop, you are most likely running pirate software. A good indication would be the overall cost or description of your computer (if it is a brand name), ie does it ship with an OEM install, preview software, etc.

Note: I see it was an Acer notebook, did it ship with an OEM version of W10 installed? It will likely be W10 home if it did, anything higher likely pirate unless specified.

when i bought it they turned it on in the shop,it started up as w8, although being sold as w10. so i said i wanted 10,give us a day will do,thinking they would get the free version off the net. this one now starts with Guncom, which i presume as you say is pirate,why? when genuine is free? can i still do it,DL genuine w10? cos at times a little pop-up tells me get office at 50% off! 2 months ago i bought a new acer windows 10 laptop because of formfilling problems with my old XP.

Ive found way my round it a bit. but it still wont fill in forms correctly.

EG,I was trying a PPI form, it wanted the DOB in this format dd/mm/yyyy, but i could only enter 2 numbers,clicking next it wont move and tell me to fill this in fully which it wont do! this was the same on my XP machine,

The Windows 10 is genuine,i insisted on that at the shop,it acepts updates from microsoft ect.

2.I watch motorbike racing on youtube a lot and capture a pic, when i open the capture folder it is empty,anybody know where esle they might be? same with short film clips from mobile,cant find them,

You were lucky, it says mandatory field and wouldnt let me go to next section,so next day Mrs went to goverment office and got all their details for 20bht, so i could carry on,

filled it all in and went to next section, it had logged me out,logged in and it had cleared every thing i had entered, then i tried a walk in visa for extra 1500bht, using the GWF no,it said it was already in use!!!

With that i filled in a complaint form and now awaiting a reply,,, perhaps 20 working days?dont look like we are going to make my sons wedding now,

Having completed the process i'm pleased to report that it was nowhere near as bad as it had first appeared and that this thread was particularly useful.

Finally got there by using Mrs daughters e-mail addy, but blimey, its hard work, so im doing form for Mrs, then it wants my details,done, next section, Father, whoes?? hers or mine? so i start doing mine, thinking this cant be right,

The computer I used this morning was XP & Chrome. The only problem I had while registering was a failure to send their initial email which was resolved after 30 mins by clicking their 'forgot your password' which worked immediately and enabled me to start the application.

On searching the site i found this,,

Password has to have an upper case letter, a lower case letter, include a number and be at least 8 characters long. Beyond that I have no idea!

yes bob, all that is ok, im logged on, its the 3rd question down, enter your e-mail, no password requried for that, just comes up invalid,although its been good for near 20 years now,,

My Son wants us to go to his UK wedding in February,and book & pay for the flights, but cant seem to get an itinerary with our names on it ect,he has sent us the proposed travel arangements on an add to cart basis, also said he would pay for them before the Mrs gets her visa, she has been 3 times before and weve always had the full one with our names with no problems, weve got plenty of invite letters ect to cover our months stay,,,, any suggestions please on the flight thingy,,

Went to the Canon Singapore site, and it asked me where am I? so rather than risk asia [no drop downs] i chose Usa/Canada, followed the on screen stuff and it works perfectly, can do all i want now,

Do not have your exact model but for my Canon printer to change language do following...

(to do the change will need Mrs help for translate) From the Print box select 'properties' then 'maintenance' then 'about' near the bottom of that box is the language selection,

open the drop down and select english.

Had to buy a new printer yesterday, Canon280 series, after a lot of headache for the Mrs helping with the thai disc text, managed to install the english version, or so i thought... its ok for a straitght foward print command, but if i want to change anything, it comes up in thai, i cannot read thai, anybody know of a way to change it to english please,

Yes IB, i thinking also it probaly wasnt the food, it seemed as 1 kitten died the next one sickened and would be dead within 14/18 hours, like a bug needed a new host, the mother was outside as normal last night,but we havent seen her all day, if shes got sick as well, she might have gone off somewhere quiet to die, the kittens shied away from stroking or our comfort towards the end,as if they wanted to be left alone,
