  1. What can we say about VR46, he certainly closed a few mouths in the racing world, Has Been, utter squit and <deleted>, Rossi is back on a bike he knows and can ride to its max, wonder what would have happened if that little mistake early on hadnt happened??

As for Cal trying to re-pass VR straight away, big mistake, he should have followed him past Redposa, and up to MM at least, yes, i know, easy to say from an armchair, but to me it makes more sense,

Good weekend coming up, WSB Aragon, and BSB Thruxton, I will be happy to stay inside with this silly Songkram thing going on, specially when all the local resovoirs are near empty,

  2. Hey Lickey

Shakey's the man, whats with the 45 second lap, you'd get giddy for sure, what do they have to about 100 laps or something

Just watched all the BSB races, 2 races, 30 laps, yes, 45/46 secs a lap on the Brands Indy circuit, Shakey got the 1st 1, but made a mistake trying to pass James Ellison, ex CRT rider, came 3rd, but leads the series by 1 point from Alex Lowes, Honda, oh dear, Josh Brookes 3rd & 5th made a comment that Tyco Suzuki do operate within the rules, that hasnt gone done well with the others,,

Suprise for me was John Mc Pint [Guiness] 20 times TT winner led 20 of the 24 laps in the 1000 Superstock as part of the Honda Legends Team, he wont be doing all the UK series but what a bloke, 40 years old,

BSB, the 1 and only Duke raced by last years Italian SB champ got a 10th and a 16th, Dukes are really out of the BSB when they used to rule, cost prohibitive perhaps? or just not competitive anymore??,

Time to have a butchers at MotoGP, Cal or Vale would be good,,

  3. We are about 100ks from Nong Khai, it hit here about 9.30pm and went on for about 3 hours, lots of lightning but not much wind, the first real rain this year, i was very pleased, laid the dust, watered the garden, a blessing really as the local resovoirs are very low, i hope there is more to come soon, specially Songkram week, 1/2 days ok, but what a waste of water for 6 days,

  4. Finally took the bike to a different mechanic, and he has totally sorted out the fuel leak - however, the bike is considerably weaker. There seems to be a clear relationship between the leak and the bikes optimal running. Why would this be?

So it probaly was the fuel tap leaking into the manifold, this would give it extra fuel, perhaps raise the carb needle on the throttle slide to richen it a bit, should run better,,

  5. Anywhere but Quatar, i really dont like the waste of energy put into a night race for a 100 or so spectators, its a fact that the electricity used is enough to light a motorway from Abu Dhabi to Moscow, and its not so hot in April either, about the same here now, 35c, so why a night race??

Thailand would be ok, as long as its out of the wet season and cooler, at least, People can relate to the big bikes as they are being made here now,

Good vid Cyclone, thanks, The only real road circuit on the UK Mainland is Olivers Mount, Scarborough, only 8ft wide in places, will post a link soon when the net stops misfiring!!

Used to go there in the late 70s, Sheene Grant,Ditchburn,Crosby,Ballington,Potter,Marshall,Haslam,Heuwen,Parrish,Newbold,Kwasaki will fill in the rest of them, and its still part of the Irish roads championship,

  6. If in fact it was a UJ causing the clonking noise, there should have been a lot of vibration felt before it got that bad, from the pics i dont see any rusted parts or abnormal cavites ect,

Spose the noise could have been coming from the front, some transfer cases run UJs to the outer CV joints,

Ah well, none of us were there, so we will never know,,

  7. Well, yes, thanks for that, i think us sufferes all know there is no cure, the brief relief i get is by pinching my nose while trying to breathe out till my ears pop, perhaps ok for 10mins, or the Thai version of putting your thumb into your ear, push hard and twist 90%, Or you could create a pain somewhere else, like hitting your big toe with a hammer, this happened to me some years ago, well, kicking a glass bottle actually, but same thing, tinnitis stopped for as long as the toe was painfull,,

  8. Yes, please keep this forum here,

The kells road races are cancelled mainly due to insurance costs i believe, there was a disscusion on Crash about this last year, i think the main problem with "between the hedges racing" its very difficult to charge spectators, i did sugest contribution boxes, with signs like, "If you enjoyed the Racing,Please give a little to make next Years Racing possible" I got a lot of likes for that, nobody minds paying a bit if they enjoyed it im sure,

Lets hope they can keep the NW200,UGP, ect going, I think the TT is safe enough nowadays, and Josh Brookes is going to the NW and TT,

And over the last 10yrs or so, it seems only Irish,English,Scots,Welsh,Ozzies & Kiwis do any good at these races, Perhaps a bit to frightening for the rest of the best?

  9. Ok, lets look and anylyse OPs posts,

Seems he drives quick to "smooth out the bumps ect" fair enough, living in the sticks, lot of us do that, this will eventually weaken the coil springs,

The "clunking" problem started after the steering rack was changed,

The truck is jacked up on the front axle beam, wheels are removed and the axle is pulled lock to lock to remove the track rod ends, at this stage, with weak springs, they can loose there seatings, [usually a notch in a steel holding plate] so when on a lock the spring will knock back and out of position again, its not damaging atall, but ask them to look for this,

As for feeling different, well, yes of course it does, you had a knackered leaking steering rack, now youve got a new one,

  11. CQ, cast your mind back to when you owned the bike and it happened to you,

So youve riding along, accelrating to your speed, once you reached the speed, you close the throttle to maintain this speed, but the bike kept acelerating?

If this is the case, the twistgrip would feel very slack, not doing anything? which points [as others have said] to a sticking carb slide, if it is sticking, yes, another new? carb might be needed or just stretch the spring in the top of the one fitted now,

  12. Hi Mania,

If you have BB, try this link,

    http://www.livesport-stream.com/index/british_eurosport_2_hd_live_streaming_free/0-31

Ive been watching on this for 9 months now, you have to get used to the adverts ect, but stream 2 is usually the best, also on the same site is Eurosport HD, try this to.

for TV listings, to see whats on ect, this one is quite accurate,

    http://tvlistings.guardian.co.uk/text-only/?tvgChannelName=Eurosport2+UK&tvgBroadcaster=UKSkyCable&tvgRegion=London&tvgFlagFilter=&tvgDayOffset=1f

Or Youtube a day or so later, try this for practice this year, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUyTg2C16Kc

  13. Got the Akira back a couple days ago, it ran fantastic, back to using too much fuel but oh well at least it is driving well. However, today I noticed that after his carb-tinkering, a problem it had a month ago has returned - the fuel all leaks out when it is left sitting for a few days. He had previously fixed this problem very well and it hadn't leaked a bit in a few weeks, but I guess his disassembly and reassembly of the carburetor caused it to return. So, now its back with him again!

if its leaking overnight more than likely its the carb float valve needle, not the long needle but the short chunky looking needle thats connected to the float at the hinge. When the float chamber is full the needle will close the hole, not allowing anymore fuel to go into the float bowl.It gets worn, then it gets replaced with the wrong size.

Oh dear, yet another one who doesnt know anything about a vacum operated fuel tap, its been about 40 years these vacum taps were agreed that when the engine stops, the fuel would automatically shut off, So pray tell me KRs when was your last bike that had a tap to stop petrol?

On a kinder note, if your fuel tap has 2 pipes ,1 under and 1 in the side, it it a vac operated tap, if the diaphagm is holed/worn in the tap it will let fuel into the engine, but as in QC case, the fuel evaporated very quick,
