Will Prayut return as PM? Ball in Constitutional Court
edwinchester replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Thai King officially appointed Prayut as PM of Thailand in August 2014. He was the only candidate put forward and told reporters after the ceremony that he was ready for the position of Prime Minister and would work to restore democracy. His 8 years are definitely up. He only stays on if some loophole can be found by his friends at court.- 54 replies

60-70% Of Thais Have Been Infected With Covid: Expert
edwinchester replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
An infection of between 60 and 70% of the population would suggest an average of around 50000 people being infected every single day since covid hit Thailand. Makes rather a mockery of the absurdly low figures being churned out month after month. -
I was responding to his call on a total sugar ban and what some may see as a logical follow on with the banning on alcohol. Personally I would not want to see the banning of either just the encouragement of moderate and healthy consumption. A tax rate on both is part of that encouragement.

"I would imagine that the damage caused by sugar is a bigger burden on society than the damage caused by all illegal drugs put together Sugar should be banned as a food additive and should only be allowed for use in the production of alcohol" Alcohol is also a bigger burden on society than the damage caused by all illegal drugs put together as well. If you want to totally ban sugar makes sense to ban alcohol too.

Ok thanks for that. I see that the surcharge added 355.97 bht but we received a discount of 117.73 bht. An overall increase of 238.24 bht.

We got our electric bill today. 381 units at a cost of 1860.70 bht. By coincidence last months bill was also for 381 units and the princely sum of 1706.76 bht so this months bill shows a price rise of about 9%. Any Govt help isn't showing up just yet.
