  1. This is what happens when there are next to no consequences for those caught breaking the law.
  2. I would assume they are talking about adults vaccinated, of which there are about 50 million in Thailand, then the figures appear more believable.
  3. Our neighbour is currently burning his rice stubble and a grey haze is enveloping the village. It's nasty outside and my eyes are streaming.....a Police Car just drove past and did <deleted>.
  4. "They will study the law and tax collection issues, where the complex should be located, who the investors should be, how it should be run possibly by some kind of "gaming commission" and finally a group to look at ways to mitigate harmful effects on society." It's a business, of course it will pay tax on earnings. Chonburi.....YAWN. CP. The soon to be formed 'Thai Gaming Comission'. Pamphlets in the foyer. No need for five committees to be setup.
  5. Should be moved to an inactive post immediately for incompetence being unaware of what everybody else knows is going on.
  6. Definitely, a school near us was recently closed because many of the students were testing positive. It had only been reopened a couple of weeks. Back in the UK covid has been ripping through my grandkids schools recently.
  7. Yeah same as the UK farmers who were duped into voting for Brexit only to realise after the event that the vast majority of beneficiaries were those farmers living abroad.
  8. My Thai mother in law has been receiving treatment for mental health issues for years. It seems to consist solely of drug treatment with variable results at best, no counselling or holistic approach at all.
  9. I agree that things appear to be getting better but that is no reason to let your guard down. There is nothing to be gained from low testing and much to learn of the nature of the virus from a high testing rate. Just as a side note the kids in our area went back to school just over a week ago and one of them has already closed. The rapid antigen tests showed that alot of the kids were infected.
  10. If you don't test you will never know the extent of the virus, never know which variants are at large throughout the country and put at risk many people who will be unaware that there may be clusters of infected people in their area.
  11. "...at which point they might as well give up testing anyone who's not really ill." Seems that is what they've been doing for the whole of this year anyway.
  12. Spot on. Covid has recently swept through my granddaughters school in the UK. Most of the kids were barely affected but we heard a couple of grandparents were very sick in hospital are catching it from their own grandkids.
  13. Should have been got rid of years ago as it's nasty stuff to work with. One of my uncle's died of mesothelioma several years ago, contracted after being exposed to asbestos as a dockyard worker and it is a terrible way to have your life end.
  14. Yeah, been getting that all afternoon too. Absolutely <deleted> typical and as useful as a chocolate condom.
  15. I wonder if UNHCR Thailand will condemn this? I think I already know the answer.
  16. Of course they can but after the claim is submitted they'll be told 'Police Grass' is an occupation reserved for Thais, charged with working without a work permit, fined 50k bht, deported and refused entry to the Kingdom for a minimum of 1 year.
  17. Agree that millions need to take to the streets to effect any change but whenever anything remotely resembling that has happened the military have stamped down on them very heavily so I can understand their unwillingness.
  18. "Phra Maha Praiwan Worawano was known as a liberal-leaning monk who attracted a huge audience of young people through his social media posts." Well there's your problem.
  19. When they're in standard production cars and when the massive investment to upgrade the pathetic charging infrastructure currently in place is another question.
