  1. No, it was the next door neighbour. He'd sold everything to fund his drug habit.
  2. Such patrols by Thai plod are as useful as a chocolate condom. Friends house was gutted of everything when he was on a trip back to Australia when the police were supposedly looking after it. Even the wiring, water pipe and the staircase!!!! were stolen.
  3. ".....they had spoken to a senior figure who said that the teacher gets on well with the students." You couldn't make this <deleted> up. Termination of employment should be the only action in cases such as this.
  4. Asking foreigners for an international driving permit is a favourite here in Kanchanaburi too during high season. Got asked for mine a while ago, said I didn't have one and was directed to the roadside table to write up a fine. When I was asked for id I handed over my Thai motorcycle license. Fortunately the cop had a sense of humour and waved me on although my wife later suggested I was being a little provocative.
  5. Kasikorn banking app seems very secure to me. I set transaction limits to zero after each purchase/transfer as an extra precaution.
  6. "Lung Pom is an affectionate nickname for the portly politico." Fat <deleted> being a slightly less affectionate nickname here in the village.
  7. Appalling air quality here in Kanchanaburi. Constant burning of sugarcane and field stubble right now. Even wifey is thoroughly <deleted> off about it.
  8. More like the look of a man trying to slip out a dangerously wet fart.
  9. It's an attempt at humour. Google 'Taksin and Alpine Golf Course'
  10. Changed all Govt passwords from 123456 to 12345678
  11. UK doesn't require a covid test before you fly there so you shouldn't need insurance.
  12. Soon to be joined by her sister ships HTMS Leo and HTMS Singha Light.
  13. Nice new road out front so surprised they haven't included a tender for a couple of km's of ornamental lampposts too.
  14. An astonishing figure considering the lack of enforcement that goes on here. As a comparison the UK has approximately 500 cases per week.
  15. I guess the resale value of the talismans he's selling has plummeted since failing miserably to prevent the sinking.
  16. Should Prayut even turn up to the censure debate would be remarkable in itself.
  17. Essential information should one find oneself riding the family wave to 7-11 during the next coup.
  18. One of wifeys friends recently went on a Buddhist pilgrimage group tour to India for a couple of weeks. On return several of the group were sick and tested positive for covid so maybe India needs to put it's own house in order first.
  19. Which begs the question how come the Thais realised the seriousness of the fire thus offering their assistance, before the Cambodians who were directly on the scene?
  20. "As the fire started spreading through the structure, with the first three floors being a casino and upper floors a luxury hotel with over a hundred rooms, the Thai side offered to help extinguish it but Cambodian immigration officials refused entry." Twenty metres from the border and Cambodian Immigration Officials refused help whilst people roasted alive. One word for this type of jobsworth and that's <deleted>.
  21. "The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is meanwhile urging service providers to charge foreign tourists similar rates to what locals are required to pay." Start with the National Parks then, easy fix.
  22. Good to see three of the cops taking cover behind their fat mate.
  23. So you're allowed to ride up the mountain but not allowed to ride down again. This level of idiocy is only attainable by a black belt moron.
  24. Only if the current bunch of usurpers steal another election.
