  1. We live in Kanchanaburi, Western Central, and air quality can be very bad at times. Two years ago we complained to our local police after the sugarcane burn next door got out of control and did alot of damage to our garden. Police said that can't do anything without video evidence of the firestarter. Disinterested, incompetent clowns springs to mind.
  2. We have a roundabout in Kanchanaburi that is chaotic because virtually nobody knows the traffic rules that should be followed.
  3. My Thai sister in law is a teacher at a Govt school. Last Saturday her school was was open for a mass vaccination of students. The only kids being vaccinated were from private schools as none of those studying at Govt schools are being jabbed yet.
  4. Judging by the percentage reported as positive about 65,000 tests which in a country the size of Thailand is woefully low.
  5. Yeah that's what happens when 1% own almost all of the wealth and bump up the average of the poor.
  6. I wonder if one day employees of Central Retail Corp will be paid only with C-Coin?
  7. My Thai sister in law is a teacher and my Thai wife has quite a few teachers as close friends....none of them know if they are opening the schools or not on Monday. A farcical situation to expect everything to be in place within 3 days.
  8. Yes....one has to wonder why this is acceptable for unvaccinated locals to travel around Thailand but fully vaccinated and PCR tested tourists still need another PCR test and a night, possibly 2 in quarantine on arrival.
  9. Gonna have to get rid of the test on arrival and first night quarantine before meaningful numbers even begin to arrive.
  10. Hi I'm looking at the possibility of sending a large sum of money to the UK, up to 10 million baht. Has anyone done this before? Interested in the best method and possible pitfalls. Thanks for reading.
  11. I'd like the Vaccine Passport because my Certicate has my name in Thai only and my id number. The computer system in the hospital where I had my vaccine wasn't able to enter my name in English and required a 13 digit number in the id field so weren't able to enter my passport number. Trying to avoid any problems at the airport and immigration.
  12. To quote Flanders and Swann...."it all makes work for the working man to do".
  13. Just tried to order mine and still only has the 'pick-up' option available.
  14. You won't test positive for at least 2-5 days on arrival in BKK if you catch it on the plane which makes the test virtually pointless if you do a test just before you fly and test negative.
  15. It's a big deal for my daughter's family of five who usually have an annual holiday in Thailand. PCR checks in both UK and Thailand followed by an expensive Govt Quarantine Hotel, albeit only for one night, will add hundreds of pounds to the cost. Factor in the risk should one of their kids test positive in Thailand it just isn't worth it right now.
  16. I tend to agree with you but I made the point because Thailand is nowhere near the rate of those vaccinated in the UK and can see the Govt deciding that the perceived risk in letting British tourists in is just too great.
  17. Back in the UK covid has just blitzed through my grand daughters school, she caught it and has self isolated at home. I expect similar here.
  18. True but a test just after they land stands next to zero chance of a positive result if they are. If they want to catch people who are infected whilst in flight they will have to test from the 2nd day onwards.
  19. There's 2 PCR tests to negotiate. One in the 72 hours before you fly and one on the day of arrival. Not really required for double vaccinated tourists imho.
