  1. If the defendants are ordered to appear before the court and fail to do so surely the minimum they should be charged with is contempt of court not walk away without fear of further charges.
  2. "The force of the impact had thrown many of the students around, inside the bus." So much for the big song and dance the Govt made several years ago that all buses had to have seat belts fitted.
  3. If I can't buy a beer in our village this coming Buddhist holiday it'll be the first time in my 23 years here.
  4. Been caught out twice like this. Catch it soon enough and a petrol soaked cloth clears the mess easily.
  5. It seemed only last week that TAT were talking about a record breaking season.
  6. "A 57-year-old security guard who was on duty described hearing a loud explosion from the middle minibus and noticing no fire, Initially thought nothing of it and returned to his post." Absolutely qualified to be a Thai security guard.
  7. Disappeared activists who turned up in the Mekong in concrete overcoats are all that's needed to disqualify Thailand from even applying for a seat at the UNHCR.
  8. Thai seaplanes are different.
  9. The concrete mixer was driving like a <deleted> lunatic.
  10. No Tak Bai massacre was in 2004, Taksin was Prime Minister at the time, expressing regret for the deaths but insisting there had been no wrongdoing by military personnel.
  11. I'd go with the P. Fat and barely able to walk so no time to make it to the crapper.
  12. All share transfers are equal but some are more equal than others.
  13. This <deleted> stain absolutely does not believe in any semblance of democracy. He's one of the self appointed elite who wants to return Thailand to the days when the serfs were kept firmly in their place.
  14. I planned my retirement in Thailand in 2003 and was fully aware of the frozen pensions issue. It's unfair but to move to a foreign country without understanding the financial implications is not a wise thing to do.
  15. The grinning <deleted> in the middle should be ashamed of himself as should all the other photo opportunists.
  16. Busses should not burn that quickly trapping so many inside. If this bus is one of those fitted with a cheap gas conversion somebody has blood on their hands.
  17. Note to self, buy shares in Thai alcohol manufacturers next time there's a Govt handout.
  18. "While the injuries suggest a blunt object was used...." The fact that Police consider that a blunt instrument may have been used suggests very much the son is a suspect if they rule out an innocent fall.
  19. A few years ago wifey and I were at a big party for a friend's son Monk Ordination. There was a well known local comedian entertaining the guests and he spotted me, the only farang in the audience, and I started to get a few jokes aimed my way. 'We have a sex tourist here tonight, where's the best prostitutes?' got a big laugh. 'Your house' I replied and got a big laugh in response. Thais know exactly what their country is famous for.
  20. ".....London, often regarded as the capital of Europe..." Maybe a decade ago, Brexit killed that assumption along time ago.
  21. So who did you thank for 30 bht to the dollar when Trump left office?
  22. Here in the village somebody in ALL the houses near us possesses a firearm of some sort. Not aware of a single one that is legally owned and not a single person seems to care.
  23. Suspect that there were footprints and signs of dragging a body around the pickup which Police tracked back into the trees.
  24. Absolutely the drivers fault but that accident looks very survivable as proved by the driver being alive and no it wasn't his amulet. I'd like to know it the two passengers were wearing seatbelts. I'm guessing no.
