  1. 3% a day? In our village daily rates are between 30 and 50%. Borrow 100 bht today, pay back 130-150 bht tomorrow. Madness!
  2. It's being going on for decades how else do you get Generals with a net worth of hundreds of millions of bht? Another favourite is giving conscripts the option of staying at home but then all of their salary is then passed on up the food chain. It's no wonder the Armed Services are so loathe to give up such a lucrative money spinner that's conscription.
  3. "In the wake of this development, the THA conducted a survey to assess the financial impact on hundreds of Thai hotels, which amounted to a cumulative loss of 111 million baht." "Hotels in Bangkok faced losses of 12.72 million baht, the northern region 632,244 baht, the eastern region 4.04 million baht, the western region 888,151 baht, and the southern region 92.88 million baht." This two paragraphs suggest the loss to Thai hotels was indeed 111 million bht.
  4. No amnesty for anyone who staged the military coup. They must be held to account for their crimes.
  5. If you find money in the street or anywhere else and keep it without either attempting to find the rightful owner or not handing it over at a Police station you are committing 'theft by finding'.
  6. If you find money in the street and keep it without either attempting to find the rightful owner or not handing it over at a Police station you are committing 'theft by finding'.
  7. It's easily found on Google just not within Thai news because of it's 'sensitivity'.
  8. Bet he's wishing PT hadn't stabbed Move Forward in the back now. 112 would have been reformed into something way less draconian and he wouldn't be worried about doing the usual 15 years.
  9. Is it just me or is Senator Somchai worried that Move Forward may just have got alot of their candidates in a position to be elected to the Senate?
  10. Fentanyl seems not to be freely available in Thailand thankfully but give it time. Come to our village in rural Thailand though and the effects of yabaa and amphetamines is apparent hence the need for drug rehabilitation centers although the treatment locally seems better than that offered in the op.
  11. "What does Allah say about drugs?" Much the same as Lord Buddha. Anyone of any religion can fall victim of recreational drugs.
  12. Somebody at Thai Rath needs to learn how to type '10,000'.
  13. Yeah, Lotus's are about to introduce their range of Chateaux Du Lakeview pineapple wines for the more discerning drinkers here in the village.
  14. '...arrested 35 year old Wuttichai, also known as Kay' Since changed his name to Not Okay.
  15. "The case traces back to comments Thaksin allegedly made in a 2009 interview in Seoul" Haven't the courts already ruled crimes committed abroad don't count?
  16. Unfortunate choice of 'Ignite' considering the rampant burning in Thai agriculture and the resulting disastrous air pollution.
  17. It takes a particularly special kind of moron to drive a drug loaded car through a police checkpoint on a known trafficking route with the car horn continuously sounding.
  18. "...the fountain's mechanics require meticulous upkeep" Well there's your problem.
  19. ".....expressing the need to await the monk’s explanation regarding the video" I was collecting alms from the home of a young man when he asked if we could discuss the latest reforms of the monastic order. I suggested we go somewhere a little more private. It was there that I suddenly slipped on a freshly mopped floor just as a sudden gust of wind blew off the man's loose shorts. It was then that he unfortunately fell on top of me and I regret to say his penis unfortunately entered my body. As far as I'm concerned that is the end of the matter.
  20. "Under the new agreement, Airbus Services will install 12 business class seats on each A320ceo, equipped with backrests reclinable up to 8 inches." Pretty underwhelming level of recline and hardly seems worth the extra cost of business seating on these narrow body short hauls.
  21. Thai mother in law has petty serious mental health issues. Depression and schizophrenia amongst them. All the care she seems to receive is a trip into hospital every few months to get another bag of prescription drugs. In the over 20 years wifey and I have been married the MIL has never had any counseling for her problems.
  22. UK has the same law. It is called 'Theft by finding'. You are obligated to return anything to the owner or hand it in at a Police Station.
